Constrictor knots with butchers twine is all I ever used to do! I’ve always wondered if the new Chinese elastic weighed the same or helped band longevity versus the standard constrictor knots.
I'm using paracord inner strand for the ties. I've used wrap and tuck before and the Chinese tieing elastic string, no difference in longevity The constrictor knot it the fastest way to tie them
But this knot is never going to have the ends pulled on again, atleast ideally you wouldn't want to have to do that. So I would think it would works it's way undone in this application
@@dambroangling2828 You can use this knot as a figure of eight sling too. That means you don't necessarily need two working ends. But you'll need a least a free end of a pole to slide the sling over. We once crafted a float in a project to find out if it works. As far as I know the float is still in use. It's quite a good knot, but you can't open it again if it once was under high tension.
It looks like you haven’t made a video on how to make that band tying jig. I could probably muddle through the process but I know it would require several attempts to get it close enough for my particular brand of OCD. Can you help a brother out?
Looks like a single strand from the core of some 550 Paracord. I use regular cotton embroidery thread and it works great, about a thousand colors to choose from too :D!
How did you learn to do that?? You have obviously been doing both the shooting and crafting for some time.. have just thought it might have been a grandfather or a father??
This know doesn't come undone? I know this know it good for some things like hammocks because the more it is pulled the tighter the know gets buts this doesn't have anything putting tension on the knot
I learned the Constrictor Knot in 1993 and it’s been a favorite since then, and seen so much good use.
I learned to use the potty in 1993 lol
I was 15!? You youngster you.
Is this all you do in comps? Or the flat stuff? I use bands for ties
Wow that's quick, guess I'll be re-tying all my bands now, thanks for this!
bends names
Finally! No one shows how to do this. Thank you very much!

@@CatapultCarnage thanks for the information as always! I will give it a try.
I use feed sack sewing thread and find no problems, use a constricter not.
One of the toughest knots ever. The more you pull, the tighter it gets...
It has already been used by the Romans to set up their fortifications.

That is a superb knot!👍🇬🇧

Can you help a brother out?
That's the only way I tie my pouches! For me, the easiest, best and fastest way.
It sure is!
Won't the string cut into the rubber ?
You can put tape around first, a layer or three. Then use the thread.
What is the difference between a Constrictors knot and a clove hitch?
what was that handy mechanism that held the band whilst you tied it
I've been using a fisherman's knot and line cause I didn't know how to tie this knot lol. Where can I get one of these to hold the bands l?
Наивные , мы в СССР из милиметривой белой бинт резины делали такие рогатки вам и не снилось!
Can you tell me where I can buy steel balls in NO please ?
Наконец то классическая рогатка,la frombola
So absolutely simple! I don’t know why I haven’t tried this yet! Will paracord strand work?
Yes buddy paracord inner strand is what I'm using here
@@CatapultCarnage right on! 👊🙏
@@CatapultCarnage omg ty for sharing this info!
Once I did constrictor knot never went back another thing I learned using ttf bands for ott as they stronger at pouch and no difference in aiming
Где ты был 40 лет назад, я бля проволокой медной скручивал резину от камеры велосипеда.
I was just a twinkle in my father's eye 40 years ago 😂
@@CatapultCarnage lmfao
The (cotton) butcher twin is best for this kind of trick😊
Love your videos!!!
Fantastic thanks
I do the same knot as well 😄
Wht do u use to tie the bands on the pouch ?
Would this orientation for OTT or TTF set up? Which way should pouch be pointed for OTT please. Going to have a bash at making my own ..,....
I use this knot a lot in my line of work.
Was that a normal string or a rubbery string?

Restricter knot is very easy to do and never had a band snap at the knot yet

What is the brand/type of string are you using?
How did you learn to do that?? You have obviously been doing both the shooting and crafting for some time.. have just thought it might have been a grandfather or a father??
Learned about slingshots on TH-cam back in 2011. I did have slingshots as a kid too
What is the material you use to tie the not please ??

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I think a constrictor knot would hold better than a clove hitch.
It is a constrictor knot
