CHICKEN, SHRIMP, AND VEGETABLE DUMPLINGS | Tamar's Kitchen

- Hello my beautiful people! This is a super easy recipe! I had a frozen pack of dumplings from the grocery store and they were absolutely delicious. My husband and I could not get them out of our head, so why not just make them myself! You can put whatever you like in the dumplings, and that is the beauty of making it yourself! Make sure you try this out!
Ingredients:
About 1 lb of ground chicken
1/2 lb of shrimp
a few cloves of minced garlic
salt & pepper (use whatever seasonings you like, I just did not want to over season)
about 1 cup of shredded cabbage
about 1 cup of chopped mushrooms
about 1/4 cup of chopped green onions
1 pack of potsticker/dumpling wrappers
For sauce:
2 teaspoons of sugar
about 2-3 TBS of soy sauce
1 teaspoon of rice vinegar
1 teaspoon of chili oil
1 garlic clove minced
splash of sesame seed oil
about a TBS of sweet chili sauce
sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds
and if you need more heat add sriracha!
I bought a bamboo steamer for this recipe, but I believe you can use anything to steam the dumplings.
For your steamed dumplings: line your bamboo steamer with parchment paper so that the dumplings do not stick. Fill up the water in the pan about 1 inch high on the bamboo steamer. You want it to be below the bottom of the steamer, not touching it. Bring the water to a light boil and then place dumplings into compartments, not touching. Steam for 10-12 minutes and they should be done!
For pan fried dumplings: Add a couple TBS of oil so that the bottom of the pan is covered, heat on medium high heat. Add the dumplings and fry until the bottoms of them are golden brown. Once done, add in about a 1/2 cup of water and cover. (be careful) Once all the water has cooked off take off lid (about 7 minutes), and continue cooking until the bottoms of the dumplings are as crispy as you want them and then you are done!
