    Im a fan I am but a couple of those transitions were a little rough. Again just constructive no harm meant.

    Every Dj Messes up at least once in a set specially on 3+hr set mixing by yourself. Props for making sober people dance lol. I just did a 7hr set and messed up at least 3 times. It happens, at least you know the dj is mixing live and not Pre recorded mixes.

    Great gig log as always! I love that you left the transitions in there. Keep the vids coming man!
    Also I bought an EV ZLX15 and I must say if it weren't for your beginner DJ speaker video, I wouldn't have found EV. They ROCK!

      Cade Perry dude I LOVE MY ZLX'S THEY ARE THE BEST! I'm going for a EKX- 15sp or 18sp next for a sub! I'm hypeee

      Cade Perry I haven't purchased any speaker stands yet

      I use the 2 zlx 12's 2 zlx 15's and 1 18 etx. To answer another question on these replies I use all EV stands but, I will say after one year one of my stands for some reason is binding when I expand it, not sure why It has to be a bent pole.

    Nice job rick let me tell you no matter what there is always a twist in dj gig for this high school kids especially seniors there last dance . Cool 3d laser! Good improvising on splitting the subs up due to the stairs. Lots of little tips and tricks hidden throughout the video for those who pay attention. I agree Serato SUCKS for autoplay. I use it for when the guests are arriving, and have a quick playlist ready for bathroom/food. I'd say its the worst thing about Serato.

      Dirty rap songs are what kids listen to, hence the dirty dancing. Schools start playing them as kids transfer into middle school.

    I used to use a trailer. I've downsized to fit everything into my jeep but I have a huge show using my top tier this Saturday. I barely fit everything from my new setup in my jeep. I may have to rent a uhaul for those just so everything isn't so crammed in there.

    • @neolightproductions
      @neolightproductions 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      May even get some soft cases for my speakers so it frees up some room. The dual hard case is heavy and takes up a lot of room. At least for those shows. I'll keep it for other events tho.

    Hey Ricky,
    I just "inherited" a bunch of lighting and I was wondering if you could help me design a set up. If I send photos of all the stuff, could you draw up a simple design sketch? I think it would make for an interesting segment. Thanks so much for your gig logs and I also really appreciated your thorough videos on speaker and subwoofer placement. Big help man.

    • @DJRickWeb
      @DJRickWeb  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Watch the top 40 list. And you just kinda learn over time that you can tell if a song will be hype or not. Getting a bar / club week gig helps to. Those are great to test new music and judge the reactions.

      I am talking about your monitor outputs, looked like you where using them as your main instead of a monitor. and fair enough i know the feeling for sure. I was djaying a house party for my friends birthday and a kid spilled a beer in my cdj 2000s and my djm 900. I was so pissed and the party was off the books so insurance didn't cover it. anyways long story short went the next 3 months playing with out practice. could tell it was going downhill. :O

    • @DJRickWeb
      @DJRickWeb  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Zayins Private account the monitor output went to the subs. The main ouput went to the tops.

    Just put a bid in for that schools prom next year. I told them I don't curse on the mic lol. Just Kidding. I know how tempting it is when you are mixing and the energy is over the top, you want to yell let's fuckin' rage. We all have those moments. Luckily I haven't done that yet. I've come close though haha.

      +DJ Meosky yeah. Its kinda hard when the night before you DJ'd in a raging college bar droping cus words left and right to hype them up too.

    they kid in the red suit at the front, I genuinely feel sorry for him, he had nobody to dance with on the slow song and nobody wanted to talk to him, if I'd of been doing that gig and spotted that, I'd invite him up to show the "cool" kids whos boss.... he enjoyed the music, I just hope that kid grows up successful!

    What kind of lasers did you use

    • @DJRickWeb
      @DJRickWeb  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The red and green dot one is a knock I bought a local shop way back when I first started. Then red and blue is the ADJ Micro Galaxian Royal. And the 3d laser is the ADJ image RGB. Both laser are discontinued.

      I got two ways... One is default, the other I take the 3/4 deck button and remap it (I never use it). So first you have the button where when you hold it down, it reverses the audio for as long as you keep holding. Then I make one that's a quick vinyl break effect. Good for single words, and keeps it interesting. As far as the rapper in this video, he had a lot of charisma, and I understand he wrote the song... but it wasn't very "live"... he played a track and occasionally said things over it. lol Would have been better as a (karaoke style) instrumental beat, and he raps over it, so he can censor himself.
