So this song and video is semi-based on a true story. Dave "The Snake" Sabo (guitarist) wrote the song after reading about an 18 year old in LA who got life in prison for breaking and entering, drunk and disorderly, and first degree murder. He did in fact shoot another 18 year old friend dead in the chest one night while drunk on the streets. The name Ricky was supposedly chosen to fit better with the song and to protect the 18 yr old's identity. If you are interested, "Youth Gone Wild" was the world's first introduction to Skid Row, you should check that out too.
He was such a handsome man with beautiful hair and the best part he's one of the greatest voice ever in history of popular music (I don't wanna write rock cause he's much more than this). So you cannot say that his fame was based on appearance cause we talk about big, big talent here! Some people really won the gens lottery:D
I hated every minute of high school but the one good thing about that time is it was the 80’s and we had the greatest music! There will never be another time like the 80’s.

Ricky is 53 now and 35 years into his life sentence. This popped up on one of my Gen X sites. I'm just going to remember when I saw them live in concert with Bon Jovi and my kids are jealous
Youth Gone Wild, In A Darkened Room, Monkey Business, Quicksand Jesus, Here I Am, Piece of Me, Rattlesnake Shake, Slave to the Grind, Mudkicker... All great Skid Row songs!!!
@@CroMagJohnson For sure. But if you really have never sat down and listened to the 3rd album Subhuman Race it is actually pretty freakin' good. I saw that concert in Biloxi, MS. It was great! Sebastian Bach ripped the back side of his tight leather pants… the entire seam and kept on singing…. After showing the audience of course 😂.

That voice! Those cheekbones! That hair! I used to be in a little bit of disbelief that, as a teenage girl, I wished to have the hair of Sebastian Bach 😂 Great reaction 🤘
Skidrow's song WASTED TIME. Hits very very hard, especially when you know what it's about and anyone that has watched someone fall to addiction can identify with it.
First time caller here! I just saw Sebastian Bach last week and was COMPLETELY enamored ❤ He looks amazing for his age and sounds EXACTLY the same as his videos!! His son is the drummer for him
Gotta check out Fly to the Angels by Slaughter... Mark Slaughter's vocals slay and the story is beautiful. Pretty sure you will like it since you enjoyed I Remember You.
Skid Row band was based out of NJ. Song idea was came from a local news report of a similar event. Yes the most successful bands in the eighties had a formula. Stunningly handsome lead singer with great hair and great vocal range, three guitars or two guitars and a keyboard, insane drummer, all members could sing and an ability to present raw metal rock song or grab your attention with a power ballad. Skid Row’s success was with Sebastian. After they fired him, never had another hit. Each part of the formula must be outstanding. When a component of it is gone, their success dwindles. Some reunite, some don’t. Some stay whole. Those bands are magical.
He did that on I Will Remember You.... which is the best one to start with in terms of hearing Bach's voice. BP had the appropriate stunned reaction. 😂

"That child blew a child away" hits like a punch in the teeth from Holyfield. I think the best thing I was ever taught was to not take anything I was told at face value. I miss this era of MTV....this was a heavy song at the time, and still stood the test of time. I have played this entire song, Lead guitar part, and it was brilliant, he wrote a seering solo that is not heard too often. I Miss the Old Skid Row.

I remember you is probably my favorite skid row song (mostly because of a connection with a girl I had a massive crush on around the time the song came out when I was in highschool😂) decades in the past, but it’s funny how those mental connections never go away
I just stumbled onto your page...and I am hooked. You are by far the best reaction person....because, you actually listen to the words, most don't. So now I am just going through your videos.
Lyrically, a hard and daunting song to listen to. The lost youth of America is still so evident today. As a SR and Bach lover and fan, i will always crush hard when i see Sebastian in video or live. My husband has accepted this about me. ❤
For an awesome power ballad, check out Steelheart's " I'll Never Let You Go". Singer Miljenko has an awesome high range voice. He did the singing for Mark Wahlberg in the movie "Rockstar"
One of the best power ballads of the 80's. Such a great song! Huge hit for them. Bach has some of the best chops in music. "Tequila in his heartbeat, his veins poured gasoline, it kept his motor running, but it never kept him clean". A great line! Skid Row wrote some amazing songs, many of which were unlike the other artists of the genre who were sining about sex, drugs & rock n roll. Skid Row had a lot to say and messages to get across. Good stuff!

That child blew a child away ....."
Sebastian Bach is one of the great vocalists ever. Milijenko Matijevic is another one, so please try Steelheart, his band.
He has done a reaction to Steelheart a while back.
Agreed, so is Michael Sweet of Stryper.
@@pcooper3559 Sorry. I missed that one.
Man i was wondering when you were gonna do some more Skidrow. 😎😎😎😎😎
Lyrically, a hard and daunting song to listen to. The lost youth of America is still so evident today.
As a SR and Bach lover and fan, i will always crush hard when i see Sebastian in video or live. My husband has accepted this about me. ❤
A++ brother!
Good stuff!
