  • This is what you are looking for, to make IFTs yourself. Full details. You should create Factory-level IF Transformers if you follow tips in this video and you don’t have to buy anything, all materials required are available at your home such as old cassette-radios.
    The green IFT appeared in the Project Board is for an SW Circuit. I will make a tutorial video to explain how to create this SW module soon. I have, actually, designed most of the vintage radios IFT setups, and I documented them in the Note that you saw in the beginning of this video.am willing. It is in Arabic but I am willing to make a sequel tutorial videos about it, only I need time and your support also. Stay with this channel and share it to others because this will give me more push to continue spreading this valuable information especially this channel is not for money, it is for people…

    Thank you. This is perfect. An elderly friend passed away and left me a number of things, including a gallon jug FULL of IF/preselector/impedance matching transformers from large to tiny. This will help me get maximum use out of them.

    Your work is genius and brilliant! With completeness, you have added much information to help us all to restore old radios and get the IF transformers working again. Thank you so much for helping us in the restoration business. In particular I liked how you (1) indicated that SMD capacitors can be used to replace bad components, (2) found and modified a toy with rotary shafts and then add the turn down screw to hold all in place when winding, and finally (3), providing your wire-winding values. It is really a most useful video! Thanks so much!

    cool !!! in older magazines there are lots of projects with those transformer but here in europe they are nearly impossible to find, only some "new old stock" that sometimes came out in e-commerce sites.

    Good ideas Thank you. However, regarding the small caps inside the transformer. I wouldn.t actually bother fitting them inside anymore. It is more trouble than help. I always put them on the PCB next to the transformer. This way they can be tested and replaced when needed ! Having the caps inside is a real pain. Just imagine having to change one of those inside require you to completely de-solder the transformer, disassemble it and under the magnifying glass install another and everything is so small you could break some winding ends in the process and you wouldn't even notice it and even worst, because you have to de-solder and re-solder back the transformer chances are, you could end up with broken (lifted) PCB tracks etc. No, is way too much trouble!

    Hello, what about green,, brown, orange coils?

  • @NsndoBrasil
    @NsndoBrasil ปีที่แล้ว

    Friend, this coil I'm asking is the coil of Antenna L3 of the Sanyo M9830K radio, this coil was open all of its wire and it doesn't have that capacitor at the bottom can you give an idea of the number of turns of wire for me to wind it again?

  • @martincaldera386

    Hello, Do you know type and values of the encased capacitors that those IF trasformers have?. Thanks in advance.

    • @afaifeem
      @afaifeem  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Some of them are 40 pf or 45, 180 and 170 pf it depends on coil inductance according to the purpose in circuit IFT is used for but for the radios I documented most of their patterns along with coils information in a note, so I think may be I will need to upload the information in that note. Use SMD capacitors instead of those encased caps, they are more stable and more accurate.

    I have national Panasonic pocket radio rf 9.mw oscillator coil is dead. I'm trying to rewind it with new wire Primary/secondary.after completion mw responding clearly full scale, but different wave bands receiving. I guess wire gauge changed. Can you suggest? The coil in the metal case is the micro size.

    Why make them instead of buying them to keep the demand alive so they keep manufacturing them? Or it will be like trying to buy if coils for say...a Hallicrafters s38 line of radios. Theyre not made anymore. Whatevers left in some old codgers barn or toolshed as NOS is all we have left. Nobody makes basketweave coils at all for decades either.
