My understanding is that Snip-Snip fixed her finger before harvesting her organs because that kind of treatment was his primary programming, and then the organ harvesting was added on later. Order of operations basically.
It also makes sense that you can sell the organs for more if she is in mint condition. Especially seeing how run down and radiated everyone is on the surface.
@@vavictus I am pretty sure that yellow Ghoul drug is made out of people. The two guys mentioned that they needed Lucy's body to make more. So the main purpose of disassembling her would be to reprocess her organs into that drug. I doubt that there is a significant organ harvesting operation in the wastelands.
An intersting thing is that the first person she killed, she pulled the trigger with a finger that wasnt hers. I think it ties back nicely to what Wilzig said before about the wasteland changing her and having to be a bit more like a surface dweller.
I think it's a Die Hard reference, "Golden Rule MF" has almost the same delivery as "Yippie Kayay MF" from Die Hard, makes it even better that her name is Lucy Maclean, and John McClane's daughter is also named Lucy, and I'm pretty sure there was a lot of Die Hard references in the Fallout games as well.
The video being played on the TV in Vault 32 was a real experiment by John B. Calhoun. I'd recommend looking it up as it could have implications for the story that's unfolding (and let's be honest they didn't put that on the TV by accident). He built a little box with housing for rats. It had everything they needed with infinite food, plenty of space and no predators. The rats enjoyed time and procreated. Eventually they procreated a bit too much and the behaviour of the rats changed. As population grew to about half the "maximum capacity" of the enclosure the rats started to engage in destructive behaviours, male rats stoped courting the females, females abandoned their kids, some rats started to focus more on grooming themselves and flaunt their looks, etc. Really interesting stuff if you have the spare time to at least look at a summary of his experiments!
@@ultmotive I had to think of the same. It's like nature still or always finds a way to somehow influence factors to long term go more towards a healthy balance again - or erase or diminish the problem somehow.
Which is interesting in the study of those rats. From what i remember from my college courses, rats are naturally polygynous, as opposed to humans who may have polygamist tendencies but overall pair up monogamously. The rats essentially started to control the females as the only limited resource. In the wild this wouldn't be an issue because nature is bigger than an enclosure, and males and females would leave as they wanted. But in captivity it led to severe behavioral changes in both males and females. With females over preening and abandoning their pups to please the dominant male in control of them and unpaired males to become aggressive to try and 'win' their own females from other males, rather seeking actual courting of females themselves. Males who controlled an abundance of females also began losing actual physical relations with those females and instead developed hoarding behavior which leads to choice paralysis.

Yeah the great thing about the humor is that the filmmakers are the ones telling the jokes through the film, not the characters directly. Also this is basically an 8 hour film.
The show shows us what is relevant to the character. Im sure that conversation was a pivotal part of the ghouls descent into who he is now. As an audience we need to know the context, but its probably always in the back of his mind. Thats probably what he flashes back to when he sees the tape. The fact that they show us the episode and he "happens to find it" shouldn't feel contrived, they just showed us his memory so we would have that same realization.
The unfairness of Nerdy flexing both height and a both fun & beautiful wife was SOOOO unneeded, that i liked the video before even watching it. 10/10 opening.

Even as much as I like the first games, I somehow never discovered the existence of the “sequel”/“midquel” mods built onto the Fallout 2 engine until last week so really enjoying working through them now! FO 1.5 is damn good so far.
I've played Fallout since the 1st one. I didn't like the theme of New Vegas when I started playing that because it wasn't about a Vault Dweller, but honestly, they're all good and Todd Howard definitely saved the franchise from obscurity while staying true to its original theme.
In the most recent update to Fallout 76, dropped last week, the new story expansion allows you to reach a point where you can choose to turn into a ghoul. It's an unreversable decission but would have effects on how your player is affected by radiation and chems. It also has a downside for players who use low health builds, as the method of getting your health low relies on radiation exposure.

And how don't those fingers decay? Are they from ghouls? And if you had a ghoul part added to you would that turn you into one also?
I am one of the losers who plays fallout 4 for the settlement building. New Vegas is my favorite for story and other gameplay though. Plus New Vegas still has an excellent modding community
If you've seen the rat experiment video in Vaught 32, you'll know what happened to the people there long before the raiders got in there with Mama's code. I don't think the point of the video was that the ghoul shot the communist in the end, but the 3 points his old self said about his character. He names exactly the 3 points that the ghoul has become, or lost.
I think that's just an early reference to the point of the vaults - they are experimental boxes - but that's not what happened in Vault 32. They obviously found out something about management, but that shouldn't have led to them killing each-other. I can see them killing management but not themselves. I think that vault was running a separate and different experiment. It's possible that it was another one of the vaults that had psychoactive drugs being pumped into the air/water. I am also thinking that 33 was set up for some sort human genetic engineering experiment - only Lucy, her brother, and management are mostly normal. Everyone else is super nice. And both Lucy and her brother are likely half normal. This is why only management kept getting elected as overseer.
Yeah and that was the beginning of his downfall because right after that shoot his wife was outside with the vault jumpsuit for his commercial for vault tec. Cooper's story is really tragic and Walt Goggins performance is amazing
Quick clarification about which Fallout nerds catch flak: Fallout 3 was actually the first Bethesda game. (The earlier ones were more of a top-down RPG/tactical strategy dealie), so Fallout 3 would be the one old angry nerds would flip out about for "ruining the series". Fallout 4 is just the most recent standalone (so the one that gets the most attention). And both camps hate Fallout 76 (the multiplayer one) because it was basically released waaaay under-developed. And some of the patches undid old patches and restored glitches. And they made a premium subscription that deleted all your items when you bought it. Oh, and because they didn't do any anti-cheat, despite it being an online game. And they had a premium release bundle that was supposed to include a canvas survivalist bag (which was tiny, flimsy, and garbage) and a Nuka-Cola themed bottle of alcohol (which shipped as a bottle-shaped plastic shell around the world's cheapest bathtub hooch). And they sold collectable Brotherhood of Steel helmets that were recalled for "dangerous levels of mould".
Indeed, you are not short. You're an inch short that the average actress which at 5.5 is 1 inch above the national average these days. As an accredited Film Historian I get to study things like that because they interest me. A mere 25 years ago, the average female actress was 5.10. So the average went down quite a bit. What I don't know is if they did that to give shorter actresses more jobs, or shorter men like Tom Cruise who is 5.7. Next to an actress like say Sigourney Weaver who is 5.11 he'd look ridiculous or would need a box to stand on as the male actor most often has to taller.
Nah, there’s a lot of in between about Fallout 4. It’s good, not a favorite but good… and a lot of people that enjoy other games more still recommend 4 as a first one to play because it at least fixes some of the jank. (Keyword some, it is after all a Bethesda game with a long past its prime engine). I’d probably put Fallout 2 as my favorite, but some of that is nostalgia and it’s also a more niche type of game being an older turn based RPG that relies even more on reading text.
Honestly, I only have one nitpick and it’s in the last episode, and coincidentally the last episode is probably my favorite episode lol, so this show just wins.
i have seen you,re wifes look in the fallout games but for the life i cant remember where , on a poster , or a cereal box or a can of soup or something and its driving me crazy , even her makeup matches the girl in the game , please tell me where in the game she got her hair style and dress and over all look ????????????

I forget the vault but there is one that is constantly high on cannabis
As someone with a substantial VHS collection I love that they still used tapes lol
that opening! lmao you two are great!
29:00 was that an unintentional pun?
I think those drugs keeps him alert and conscious
I agree that Chet’s voice reminds me of Ryan Reynolds
Nerdy gets excited: *pap pap pap papapapapapap* little slaps
I will never look at the trombone the same way again.
Honestly, I only have one nitpick and it’s in the last episode, and coincidentally the last episode is probably my favorite episode lol, so this show just wins.
Short redhead, Danger Zone!
You’re not my supervisor!
You can already play as a ghoul in in some of the Fallout games
Yep, Matt Berry.
Short? I stay because your wife is very adorable. And you've got the voice of an angel.
Plug for the Algorithm!
Peace!
Enjoy the Reaction! Nerdy Nightly!
did he say "ai caramba" in 19:37 ?
6:11 the question is, did he mean physically... or morally?
You can now play as a ghoul in Fallout 76.
Nerdy Nightly everyone. Asking the questions that would get every other reactor demonetized in seconds.
