This video is the only video I found online that explains how to remove the panels with the 3rd door shut! Thank You so much!!! Good job explaining everything! Exactly what I needed to know. Thank You!!!!!
I have been trying to figure out why my clubman door won't open and was about to resort to a garage. Then I found your video and suddenly it's fixed. Great instructions, thank you 👍
Have just purchased a 2007 Mini clubman with this door issue, was told it need a new cable, but after watching your very informative video I have fixed the issue in the same way you did. Great video and explained in such an easy way for everyone to be able to follow. Thank you again Tim - Wales - UK
Thank you 🙏 a lot for this video about a not opening Clubman door! Just back from a 4000 km trip with my Mini Clubman and suddenly this door stayed closed and I thought: Come on, really? Hadn’t to open the side panel (again thanx 🤜🤛 for going full in this topic in your video) - just greased the knob on the under side of the door as you said. Worked out great! Greetings from Germany!
Hi I just had the same problem and a person came wanted to buy my car and because of the 3rd door, she was deciding not to buy the car anymore then in that same moment I watched this video, and I got to open the door infront of the buyer, and she saw that is wasn’t a big deal,so the lady decided to buy the vehicle,Thanks a lot!
Great job, saved me hassle of tearing the panels off, just to find the same issue. Mine was related to a frozen snowy day. Thanks boss, it was perfect.
Somehow my passenger seat belt buckle ended up wedged into the bottom of the door. I took the handle apart (removed both cables from the mechanism) with the info from this video, and then finally pulled the upper plastic column out of the way so I could remove the upper latch portion (three 10mm bolts holding it to the 3rd door). Thanks very much for this video, while my operation was more complicated I appreciate the info on taking the door apart! And knowing the handle mechanism was held in with T20 screws was helpful since all I could do was pull the plastic away enough to wedge my hands inside...
So awesome! Thanks for sharing this great video. Wish I'd thought to look for it two years ago - that's how long my 3rd door hasn't been working! Really appreciate you - thanks again!

I’m following your video here but pushing down the mechanism isn’t releasing the door, we need the trim off and can’t because the door won’t release, any idea?
My friend brought me her 2010 S Clubman saying the dealer wanted $1,000 to fix the door I took 3 seconds to look at it and gave a good hip bump as I pulled the handle and voila...she practically jumped on top of me with joy! I will look for an adjustment before she leaves tomorrow, but in her car, there is no amount of WD-40(btw WD stands for water displacement it is not actually a lube) that will open it just a bit of inward pressure while holding the handle open.
Thank you so much for this! Just a question, where Is the sensor for this door? The open door light is on the dashboard. Any help would be appreciated!
I have a 2010 mini Cooper clubman I see you Fixed the third door I have the rear doors the barn doors or I call milk truck doors they will not open with the key five or the handle I think it’s a switch but nobody seems to know where the switches or how to manually open the doors so that I can get into the panels of the doors
I don’t have that model at the moment so I can’t do a video or guide you. But I believe I opened one a while back and you have to remove the panel on the inside of the door so you can have access to the wire
Garage Boys Thanks for the info I tried getting the panel off the door and because the door is closed I couldn’t because it’s like in between the floor and the door if that makes sense
Hi I have the same problem once with the sticking and freed it up with a bit of WD40 now I have a problem where it just will not open I followed your guide and could see the mechanism working ok but my door still will not open Ave Tryed everything but still no joy, any help would be much appreciated thanks
The door works with a 2 hitch system. One on the top and one on the bottom, when you pull the wire does it unlock any of the hitches???? If so which one?
If I pull on the cable as I can see it seems to be working on the bottom one but can't see the top one doing anything but then again its hard with restricted access, the door handle works and moves the cable for the bottom as I can see that part just don't no what else to try 👍
If it opens the bottom one then use some pliers and pull the top cable down, the top cable is the one closes to you right where I put the flat head and push down. Go to the ending of this video where I have the mechanism open and see how it works. Then you will know which cable you have to pull and which way.
Took the car to my mates garage today after taking out the mechanism that opens the door and still having no joy and then a few bangs on the door at the top it popped open but no matter how much it was sprayed with lube it sticks every time the door is closed so ordered a new lock for the top and hope that solves the problem. Will update on results tomorrow 👍
Thanks for this! I'm having the same issue. Did you have to remove the cover or the button to get the WD40 to the right place, or is it just sticking at the plastic button? I'm afraid to pop the cover off.
It will help to add the liquid grease on the button but sometimes the issue is major and in that case you have to open the plastic and grease the whole system.
My seat belt is stuck under the third door and I can’t get the door open. I opened the panel and pushed down on the cable but the door won’t open. Any help???
well currently I'm dealing with very issue myself, the lower club door switch is out & I've even tried pulling it slightly further out to see if this effects the door opening "it doesn't" I've checked the upper lock mechanism & its working fine, currently removed to keep it out the way.. the lower lock/catch literally you cant see without a camera peering through the inner door seams, spraying the latch with WD40 currently hasn't done anything, manually pulling on the lower locking latch cable hasn't done anything... anyone any idea's?
Mine is jammed shut at the bottom, the latch is locked around the chassis n shaped receiver, slightly out from the frame. The plastic button works, the cable works. I took off the panel but can't access the bottom latch at all. Help!

Garage Boys For now, just adding the WD40 in the gap around the button seems to have done the trick! Thanks so much for sharing this info.

Wd40 won’t do shit for this issue. Replace the lower switch. I used almost an entire can of wd40. Nothing. Replaced the switch. Works like a dream.
I’m glad I was able to help

Sorry to hear that, did you end up fixing it yet?
@@GarageBoys afraid not. I will need to take off the trim at the bottom to access the two bolts that hold the latch on
