"Cerberus" but NO Guardian

- These are my very many attempts at beating the Titan Cerberus, without the oh so powerful Guardian, that was intended to be awakened by The Son of Osiris. Kastor, Ajax, and Amanra must fight off hundreds of myth units, murmillo, arcus, and contarius with no gold except from trading to their ally Town Center. We know Egypt (we play as Set) thrives off of gold, so this is going to be a tough challenge. This is Age of Mythology the Titans Expansion Campaign, The New Atlantis, Cerberus on Titan difficulty. Actually it would had been waaaay easier if you build barracks and use counter army against his. You boom, put towers, midgold, bring more villagers so you build faster, plus leave son of osiris in battle, he is very powerful, micro him in and out of the towers and heal him with multiple priest at the same time, if you put him in your base they ignore your units and go for him, damaging your eco

Bro, this was by far the most infuriating mission that I ever faced in a Age series. I played on hard and you literally have nothing against a giant horde of enemies that don't stop coming
you need to crazy multitasking
Out of all the scenarios, I've found this one the toughest. But if you advance to mythic age, you'll find that things get much much easier. This is what I tend to do:
1). Get all caravans and relics as fast as you can (use chariot archers for caravans, and priests for relics), and get the heroes to the guardian's location. Get hands of pharaoh upgrade, and build a dock and fishing ships right after, to get extra food.
2). Destroy one of the gates in the north and wall off the town from the north-east passage where the trade caravans will go. This will lure enemies away from the trade caravans and head straight into the guardian location. You'll want to concentrate your fights there. Also, use snakes where you destroyed the gate, just in case.
3). Wall off the central-east passage to the trade route, but don't wall off the bottom passage. Just leave that exposed and get 4 priests to stand-ground there, and your ally will also help you guard there too, which makes things easier.
4). Spam priests to the guardian location and keep defending, and advance to mythic age as fast as you can, by at least 5 minutes (hasten it using the market sell options). By the end of the episode, I tend to have 25-30 priests guarding that area.
5). Advance to Horus to get Avengers. This makes everything way easier (phoenixes are too weak against archers and cheiros imo, which the enemy masses in every big attack), and the extra tornado can help defend against big attacks later.
6) While you advance, get a wood villager to start building 2 migdols on the guardian location if you have extra gold, and with that, train some camelries. Around 10 would be great, and use them to outflank and attack the archers from the rear at every big attack. This reduces the casualties you could suffer. Elephants could also help to soak up some damage, and I tend to maintain 4 elephants by the end of the scenario.
7) Keep spamming Avengers whenever you can, and build monuments and research that monument upgrade (forgot the name) to get more favor faster, in early mythic. At least 2 would be great at early mythic age; 4 would be ideal by end of the scenario.
8) Get priest, armory, and camelry/elephant upgrades whenever you can. Also, building extra towers on the guardian spot will improve your situation as well.
Another possibility is that if you explore the river in your town, there is elevated land with 3 relics. Just get the Son of Osiris there and you won't be bothered with the archer heroes and the myth units anymore (they'll be stuck just beneath the mountain cliff there). So you'll only just worry about the big attacks that happen every few minutes. You could also make the SoO useful by building a monument there out of harms way for him to empower, so that you could make more mythic MU's.
But this way, you'll spend much longer time in the scenario than usual, and you'll have to slowly dismantle the enemy to make the attacks stop and safely attack the titan (i.e. destroying the TC, vills, and training buildings). Getting a vill to build a forward base on the left part of the map could make things faster.

I remember playing the norse titan mission, and instead of waiting for the nidhogg, I just planted down the healing spring and had my heroes and the giants go ham on the titan. The titan never made it past the first village.
Having seeing that many priests since age 2
walling off and funneling enemies into one spot, building lots of towers and some fodder units there, is the go-to strat I use in every hard mission. It's just too efficient not to :D
This mission in particular is really a nasty one, difficulty clearly not in line with the rest xD

This level is actually easyer to beat without guardian on Titan. If you pull the son of Osiris to help defend your base in stead of charging the Guardian, it's a lot easyer to survive until you create a sizeable army.
It's possible to do it with no myth units/god powers too. You just mass elephants.
phoenixes are really good at killing the titan as well.
The first 5-10 minutes to this one is so rough.

I Just completed this today on hard and it felt like it was on titan. I completely forgot about caravans and I couldn't buy them, so i had to sell stuff while everything was under attack, almost lost my son of osiris and my ally was useless since i couldn't bother defending his part of the map. But i had a lot of fun killing de Nord Titan, taking their base almost early game.

Titan is the "Fuck you" mode the game has. It's preety obvious that in both Hard and Titan the game blatanly cheats, to the point that it's easier to play online than against the AI and high difficulty.

@@_saw_aom I just figured out from Majorfoley, You can't win the level by defeating the base, you also have to cut the tree too. So maybe you can first defeat the base, and then call it win. Cause you don't want to be staring at the screen from 15 minutes waiting to cut the tree after the opponent has been wiped out
I could probably modify the win condition to where I would have to destroy the entire base to win 👀

You can make a lot villagers to make food and to sell it to gain golds and fishing ships would help be useful too, you don't have to worry about keeping those camels and run around to allies base, the enemies would mostly just stop after killing your army and destroy your walls on the two right sides but they will never attack your city only just few, so you can focus on the top left side.. this is very useful and I've played on hard difficulty

19:49 I don't have a lot of complaints about Age of Mythology but one of the things I genuinely hate about this game is that the AI always knows exactly where you are at all times.
Yeah, sure, this time they went for your extra important campaign unit but I swear they'll send soldiers to areas of the map they've never even scouted just to kill some of my villagers. F that crap.
I had my suspicions about this as well. I've even checked the recorded games after a quick supremacy match against the Titan AI. Their army just went straight for my villagers without scouting there first. maybe they were going around to the back of my base for a sneak attack like they always do and just happened to come across my villagers. either way I know it's frustrating :/
Cause its well known for top diff AI to have spies on on any rts game !!
