  • This mow-able row maintenance strategy can assist in making a yard or field more productive.
-Include diversity to reduce pest pressure on your plants.
-Work with plant communities that thrive together in your region. Blueberries need too many amendments here, so we went with honeyberries for example.
-Be sure to incorporate edible flowers to have things look beautiful in their season ;)
-Consider getting a European Scythe from Scythe Supply in Maine to maintain the rows without a mower
    Resources:
For whole yard redos, look up Mike Hoag's work, James Prigioni, Parkrose Permaculture, or Back to Eden Gardening.
For doing this stuff at scale, look into Mark Shepard's work with New Forest Farm, or Stefan Sobkowiak's The Permaculture Orchard.

Looks good, I look forward to seeing it in 5 years. My hedgerows are among the plantings that I'm most pleased with on my site, I have planted several at various spacings over the years. Getting a bagging lawn mower also totally changed my views of mowing after over a decade of just "mulching in place" where most of the fertility just oxidized into the air, now I have a load of fertile mulch to dump around my woody perennials every few minutes, which further helps suppress the grass in the rows.

I have been using this method for 2 years and have seen a few people have success with it mostly "David the good" grocery row garden:] I do have a tweek for you as well I like to heavily mulch the sides of the rows with hay and whatever I can find then cutting it when it grow's big and repeating the mulching process. This step helps control the weeds but mostly control the looks I get from people when they look at my garden hehe.

😆 I love it! Keep up the great work!
In the lawn section, not the field, I occasionally cut the weeds around establishing plants and make a mulch circle, most lawn clippings I get with my scythe and up in my veggie garden, so the rows are left to fend for themselves haha
