Yutaka Nagai San. The striking red momiji leaves are amazing. I can see how you would find this such a moving sight. Thank you for taking us to such a lovely location.
Peter James San, Thank you for your comment as always. There are several kinds of Momiji in Japan. Some are normally green and turn to red or yellow in autumn. Others are always red even in summer and turn to dark red in autumn. In the first category, there is a type which turns yellow at first then to orange and finally to red in autumn. This type of Momiji is very popular in Japan and called as “Iroha Momoji” . During the process of color change of the tree it has beautiful gradation from green to red. The Momiji in this video is the kind which is normally green and turns to red straight. In this area it is said that more than 10 thousand Momiji trees are planted. It is very rare that in one area most of the Momiji trees are purely red in autumn. I think in western countries they do not have these types of Momiji which turn to red in autumn. Maples in western countries usually turn to yellow, don’t they?
Yutaka Nagai San. Yes we do have Momiji trees that turn to a variety of colors from yellow to orange and to red. One particular variety is Acer Palmatum "Osakasuki". However, in Australia where the weather can be quite hot and dry we don't have a lot of Momiji trees in public areas or parks but in home gardens where we can give the trees special care we do have a large variety growing.@@BeautyOfJapan
Peter James San, Thank you for your response. Oh, you have variety of Momiji in your country, too. I think Acer Palmatum is the general name for “Iroha Momiji”. And Osakazuki is a variety of Iroha Momiji. Osakazuki turns to red straight and has bigger leaves than Iroha Momiji. There is another variety of Iroha Momiji called Nomura Momiji which is normally red or brown and turns to deep red in autumn. It is said that Osakazuki is native to Japan. So, if it is available in your country , it might be imported to your country for gardening purpose originally.

It me or the light it pretty grey ? 🤔 it make the video a little sad.
I am not sure what is happening. Is it grey? You may have some problems in your watching environment.
