29:52 LIVE AID: The story of how Quo got involved has changed a bit over the years. It was 1985, Quo had completed their _End of the Road_ tour the previous year (Rossi wouldn't say it, but they were splitting up). Bob phones Francis, Fran says "No, no. We're done, we've split". But Sir Bob wouldn't take no for an answer, and effectively gave Status Quo another 40 years of life.
I saw Status Quo in Bradford back in 1973 when I was 19, 2 weeks ago I passed Francis Rossi in Sutton across the road from the train station. He must have reconised me 'cause as he passed by on my right hand side we looked at each other and both said " alright " at the same time. Man what a memory !
Very enjoyable. I have seen Quo many , many times, especially in the Frantic 4 years. Wonderful concerts that live in the memory. In other interviews i have seen, he always seems to come across as not likng that period, but for me and many others, they were a massive part of the music in my life. I still watch the old stuff on TH-cam.
It seems to me he's a friendly and humble person. I felt sad when the tour was over, but now I know they really enjoyed it, I'm happy too. And I like his gesture. It's cute. Forever 51...😄
Rossi always comes across as a smart arse in interviews, He doesn't interview well I think. Parfitt was a far nicer person and came across as more down to earth
@@darrenn438 not sure what you mean, to me Francis seems to be just a regular guy. This goes by the way for all the members of Quo. Only meet one who was a bit difficult but then another sorted him out in a very proffessional way.
I'd say he was incredibly honest and direct rather than smart arse. He's not giving the interviewer bland answers. He's also a great barometer of the times, the context the band cane from and the need for keeping on one musical path to get success rather than be allowed to experiment
@@ianmills8185nah when he went on the coke in the late 70s early 80s his head went and went paranoid later he believes that his music was the best. Which to me when the frantic four split up it went down hill
@josephbuckley5961 like david Bowie they all go on to long Bowie was brilliantnin the early years, but the smart suits wasn't him paul mcarneys doing the same
@@WayneFletcher-sk4ci yeah but the problem is if Francis saw it like acdc which he has mentioned in late interviews he should've stuck with the rock music which he tries so hard to tarnish, even if it made him rich it's idiotic to me
I think it's like a lot of people we like, they always say don't meet your heroes was getting on a train in lime Street station, and an elderley guy said to me did you see that,I said what,as I looked ken dodd was walking away, the guy said I made a joke to him about his tax and he told me to f off,it seems ken could take the mickey out of everyone else but couldn't take the jokes himself
Im 45 years a Quo fan long live Mr Rossi he's absolutely brilliant and still going strong ❤

Fantastic interview Josh, Francis is always hugely entertaining to listen to. Very funny guy and a true gent.
Long may Francis reign.

Francis and Rick both legends.
Mr rossi.i think is a great bloke...with that typical english humour.and is very interesting to listen to..and what a great rocker in a great band
Awesome interview! :)
Great interview
That was a pretty cool interview, folks... 👍
Fab interview Josh xx
Superb!
Love Rossi. Big Up. :)
Rossi sounds like the 'Del boy' of rock n roll.
ice cream man
More like trigger
Rossi you plonker!
Totally agree everything today is about quantity instead of quality

Francis Rossi interviews are so frustrating. He talks and wanders off topic, and he keeps talking behind his hand.
What is he on?! More importantly, how's your new model trainset layout coming along, Francis?
He sure do talk much 😊 Some times hard to keep up with but always entertaining.
Hate that Quo's over 😔
Francis - I think that you reached the carrot a long time ago mate!
always think running all over the world should have been JOGGING all over the world.
Terrible no gig at the O2 or Wembley Arena, in December this year been going for years.
There were gigs during the summer i went to the supposed final gig in Taunton
king of the doghouse !!
Too much Charlie I’d say!
Used to love Rossi in the original status quo, but his ego ruined the best live rock band.
Maybe but without the ego wouldn't have any Quo to begin with. Double edged... ?

But he was a young man then ,as you know,as you get older you change, and pop stars and rock stars are no different he,s an elderley rich man now
What on earth is he talking about.
Is he still on drugs!
Gave this a try, love the Quo but find Rossi unlistenable
You're not the only one mate
