Hey, thank you for having me! It was a pleasure to showcase the run I've been pouring my all into for the last year or so. For full transparency though, I want to talk about the audio setup. The headphones used during the marathon were noise cancelling, but didn't block all audio. We did tests beforehand where they seemed fine to me. I'm not sure what changed during the actual marathon but I could faintly hear the commentators during quiet sections of the game. This isn't ideal of course, and invalidates the run from going on the leaderboards. I don't think it gave me a significant advantage though. On the contrary it messed me up. This run is fully memorized to the point where I have to count each footstep/audio cue. So having people talk in my head while I'm trying to count is honestly frustrating. There was more than one occurrence in the run where I miss-counted due to this. Anyways, I hope this doesn't tarnish the run too much and that you can still enjoy the showcase for what it is. Hopefully I'll get a chance to redeem myself some other time
I know it totally defeats the purpose of a blindfolded run, but it's so nerve-wracking watching it that there were times i was actually hoping you could hear people cheering so you knew you got something right. It's crazy to me that any of this is possible and it was awesome to watch.
I had been wondering how much you could hear, as at the start of the night's cavalry one of the commentators asked the crowd not to applaud as it would give you information. I greatly respect that you are open about the fact that you could hear some commentary at certain times. The run is extremely impressive, and your honesty is admirable.
If you liked that run there was a guy in the early 2000s who played the old Abe games(jump n run) perfectly scripted out in his head as he was actually legally and fully blind so he was relying on every single audio q the game gave him check it out it might still be out there somewhere
man i dont usually watch stuff like this, but these commentators mixed with the skill of the guy playing.. just wow what an experience. That was awesome
The amount of fucking practice and effort this must have taken is absolutely phenomenal. Blood, sweat, and tears went into being able to pull this off. Unreal.
@@TheStarvingEntrepreneurit’s objectively phenomenal. You’re pissed because your parents yell at you for playing video games all day and you still can’t do this.
This is insane, well done Pennek! And thanks to the commentary team for explaining everything along the way, great to follow along as someone who’s only just finished Elden Ring for the first time hahaha
I got my mom to play Elden Ring, told her about different kinds of challenge runs and said pretty much everything has been done except for playing blindfolded. Gonna send this to her
This was the hardest game I’ve played and it turned out to be my favorite game of all time. Excellent work on this, it’s amazing. I’ve played this game a long time and I wouldn’t be able to go into the areas you did with the low health you had even being able to see the screen. Outstanding.
Same for me, never played a souls game beforehand and have never really been a solo player game player. Last solo game I played was assassins creed black flag when it came out 11 years ago 😂
Now I have seen everything...When I first saw Aggys blindfolded sekiro run I was blown away, but in an open world game?? That is absolutely insane!!! What a legend!
Extremely impressive achievement Pennek!! I look forward to having you redo this and hopefully next time the setup will be better and the run will go smoother
Can anyone tell me why in every "Blindfolded" I've ever seen, the player still has a monitor in front of them. It would be a lot more convincing if only the audience could see the monitor.
I just finished RL1 and i thought that was hard... Imagine doing this. Absolutely phenomenal. Also, amazing commentary. Very insightful and fun to listen to
I never played any soul games before up until a week ago I started elden ring, game doesn't seem too hard but it has some difficulty but easy to learn mechanics. However watching this video highlights even more how easy something can be by using strategy
This is insane! I didn't even thought that would be possible, specially with a huge game like Elden Ring. He plays better than me even blindfolded 😂 i would never try a run like this. Not being able to see for this much time would cause me a lot of ansiety haha And i thought i was good by beating Malenia solo and melee only in like my 200th attempt lol
@@nirolf12 thanks. You're right. I did it the hard way because i wanted the challenge. I didn't even used ashes or bell. Took me more than 200 tries but i did it 100% solo. Her second phase is hellish!
This is such an insanely complex thing to be this practiced in, i cant imagine how many hours of memorizing and routing and ultimately failing over and over at this seemingly ridiculous idea. Unbelievable.
People are complaining that Elden ring is too hard, and people like this guy can beat it blindfolded. Even a goldfish was able to defeat phase 1 malenia

It was still a super cool and impressive run! Thanks
they shouldn't have sat right behind you lol
Imagine his face, after taking off the blindfold and still being at the starting area, after 2 hours of button pressing 😂
That shit would be so funny 😂
Haha XD! That would be hilarious! I would watch his whole "playthrough" that way laughing like an idiot XD!
Takes the blindfold off. Everyone has gone home 😂 lights are off and
No way with all the sound tracking
he blindfolded not deafen
Pennek: Finishes this game in 2h while blindfolded

limbrave 🤤
Bro you discovered a new area that's never been seen before, and in just two hours. Don't put yourself down like that.
Good times man 😂
Grave 💀😔
Brave 👊🏻🙆🏻♂️
I still cannot believe this is possible, mankind does crazy things consistently beyond my wildest imagination
i don't think i could make it off the character creation screen blindfolded
that is madness
i mean neither did he lol
I wouldn't find the random button to start the game.
This is the most impressive run I've ever watched, of any game. Well done!

He can definitely shave this down to an hour. Fantastic work
Absurd
