Now one thing to note, is that these grips are almost half the price of stock grips, which are about $170 EACH. So if you just need to replace worn out grips for any reason, these may be a good choice for that.
Great video Mike! I appreciate all you do! I was really hoping they put out more heat. I run with Grip Puppies on top of the OEM grips. With this setup it makes the OEM grips even worse for heat. I wish we could find an aftermarket set that can be use with HD's display/controls.
More great content and practical advice from the best PA channel on You Tube!! Based on your advice i'll pass on these grips, but I did purchase the Lone Rider Footpegs based on your review and opinion. Thanks again Mike!!
Thanks for this. I've heard many complain about the heat the stock ones produce and its super valuable to see that its really not that much different. IMHO, the stock ones get hot enough for me, and while i haven't tested mine, your results are what i would have guessed mine to be. Would love to see a head to head with some aftermarket ones that claim to be hotter.
Yeah, but to my knowledge no aftermarket companies make grips that are plug and play for this bike, although you could make something work if you were determined to
Thourough Test and nice installation advice. Oxford heated grips are 80$ on ebay in Europe though and you won't run them on max with gloves because they get painfully hot. And have integrated battery protection for older bikes.
Love the content Mike, great attention to detail. I find the stock heated grips "OK" for the UK winter, but I have nothing else to compare it to. Although I have heard a lot of people complain they are lackluster compared to 3rd party brands.
when riding in low to mid 30s F, I agree the heated grips are 'ok', I find myself using the heated grips alone when temps are in the 50s F, but once it get's into low 40s F, I supplement them with heated gloves.
Thanks Mike for your very useful video again. I don't think it 'll be worth replacing.. What's your opinion on adding some special griptape on the stock grips to make them thicker (of course losing some of the heat)?
Personally I'm fine with the size of the grips. Other than my Road King, all of my other bikes have had thinner grips typical of 7/8" bars. Plus I don't have big hands, I typically wear a size medium glove.
great video dude, that was thourough as heck lol....seems easy enough, wondering if i should do it haveing the extended warranty on the bike, if i mess something up i wonder if HD would cover it, it..the switch housings...but damn it would save me some money! thanks for sharing! sláinte

I second that Mike. My stock grips got a bit glazed and checked stock replacement. $175ea ! and $185 for a pair of Heated Tactical.
While watching, my brain was saying please break out an ir thermometer. Boom! So satisfying.
Hi Mike thanks for your videos. It's very helpful since I have been a owner of a PA

That was the easiest grip install ever. Great job. I think the stock grips get plenty hot, perfect for onroad. As always great video,
yes, Harley grips are much easier to install than the usual 'universal grips'.
Very well demonstrated and explained.

Trickiest part is disconnecting the wire. Just take your time and be careful. Don’t try and force anything.
@@MikesMotorbikeChannel right on...did the rest of the switch housing stay put when you took the back off?
@@Eds_PanAm yes, only the rear panel comes off.
@@MikesMotorbikeChannel nice!, thank you for all the info!
My stock grips are already to warm for me.
Very good review. Apparently, the grips are a rip off
The best of the best
Think I missed the point here. 'Tactical? 😂😂😂. Seems like a total waste of money.
As an upgrade, I agree. As a replacement, they are cheaper than stock grips.
@@MikesMotorbikeChannel It was just the name of the grips i thought hilarious
Typical Harley, no difference, more money 💩
