So here’s a question. The sun is a phase 1 star. I think that means that everything heavier than hydrogen and helium in our solar system, come from our parents star. Heavier elements like iron can only be formed and high mass stars. High mass stars produced neutron stars and black holes. So my question is, is there a black hole that is relatively close to us that is the corpse of our parents star? Or has it wandered off by now? I know you can’t see a black hole, but it would lead me to believe that there is a stellar mass black hole Relatively close to our solar system. How can we even detect it?

thank you SEA! but how does this account for different masses of stars if they blow away their proto-disks at critical mass?
also, i don't believe that gravity can overcome electrostatic interactions, much less - thermal kinetic motion, much less - the kinetic collisions of such dust that it pulls together.
from my perspective, these theories are desperately inadequate.

@John Morrison wow fantastic, interesting, i never thought of that. could you please send me the names of these stars. yes the whole "dark" stuff seems to be a real cop out. it seems to me that when our current model is 80% or 90% or 95% (whatever the amounts of dark energy and matter) incorrect, clearly the model should be reconsidered. i am looking into if the speed of light is actually unchanging. it seems that if light has been slowing, this could account for the errors in our model. there seems to be some evidence that light transit speed follows an exponential decay with time. the only trouble is that we use lightspeed to calculate atomic decay in atomic clocks and we use atomic clocks to measure light speed. obviously circular thinking.

When objects in space become massive enough, they are rounded by their own gravity. They become massive enough that the gravity they generate becomes strong enough to overcome whatever matter the object is made of.

Oh I see the problem. I was befuddled as to why, when I watched your video of the 2019 EU conference, you were so closed minded at such a young age. You've vested yourself in the standard model. Make no mistake, self-education is consensual self brain washing. You WILL find what you look for. This is fine. I do it myself. If you choose to follow truth before money though, there are rules of self monitoring. First, the experts are a reference point only. Reference points are a null hypothesis. They must be assumed to be wrong. 2. Experts in a given theory or field know nothing of significance outside their expertise by definition, so they cannot have an expert opinion about another theory, but simply an opinion. These are useful for comparison. Lastly, is the new idea reasonable? Math can be troublesome at any level, but the conceptual basis should always be simple and reasonable. For example, if you release compressed air into a vacuum, does it compress into a spinning disc by gravity or does it spread out? Which is faith and which is predictable. Shit like that.

Stars have only one purpose. When you complete a level, you are awarded with a number of stars, often between 1-10 depending on the difficulty of the level. The stars help you to advance on the global leaderboard, a list of the players with most stars. You can also unlock new icons when you reach certain milestones, for example 1000 stars collected. Currently, the player with most stars is Cool Dash with a bit over 100,000 stars.

When you say that a teaspoon of neutron star matter when dropped from shoulder height would reach a very high speed, you should specify that this would happen if you were standing on the neutron star, not on Earth. And in fact, even if you dropped a needle on a neutron star, it would reach the same speed, since the mass of an object won't make it fall faster (in vacuum).

Amazing what stars do and provide. Really puts into perspective how small we are. Then you expand out further and realize... We are nothing compared to the rest of our universe. Literally nothing. Not even a blip. It's truly a shame that in our lifetime, we will never truly know anything about the universe other than hypothesis. It will be hundreds, if not thousands of years before we know anything factually more than what we know now. If we even make it that far as a species. I am truly at awe with our universe. Hell our own galaxy.

"While you can only see a handful of stars with the naked eye .."
Am I the only one seeing hundreds and sometimes thousands of them?
Great video as always. I use them to fall asleep, as the narration is nice and slow and with no annoying music.
    Good night from Denmark ✨💫✨

I just hope in my life time that acience and technology has advanced enough that some of the theories we have about the universe are proven wrong/correct or new theories replace old ones

Everytime I watch a video on space and astronomy in general, I pray that I get to see Beetlejuice go supernova in my lifetime.
