  • Parallel universes are a common feature in science fiction and fantasy, but if they do exist, what might they actually be like? In this video, we cover three different approaches to the theoretical "omniverse" and look at the varying ideas of what creation beyond our own universe might look like.

      There is absolutely no evidence to support this theory. They came up with this theory to try and explain the complexity and design of the universe. That it must be a goldie locks universe and we happened to be it in. Again there's no evidence for this. Which is why all physicists have dropped the theory. It use to be wildly popular but not anymore.

    Great job dude, the quality of your videos has grown exponentially and covers topics that I’ve always been into, which are what jumpstarted my love for cosmology and physics. Please keep doing what you’ve been doing!
    I personally love thinking about black holes creating new universes. Remember that time as we know it essentially ceases to exist inside the huge gravitational well of a black hole, so maybe as the black hole continues to grow for its googol year lifespan and accumulates matter and energy, then ultimately blows up after enough Hawking radiation leaks out, that’s when the new Big Bang happens on the other side. Like how our Big Bangs chronology is measured in decimals of a second, it might’ve taken an untold number of years in the parent universe for the black hole to dissipate with Hawking radiation but in our universe it took fractions of a second before inflation finally occurred. All fundamental forces were once unified at the beginning of the Big Bang which is absolutely insane to visualize.
    Anyway, sorry if all of that was kind of confusing, it’s fun to speculate in my head but since I really don’t know what I’m talking about, my explanation of it might not make any sense at all. It’s crazy how all the answers of existence is out there already and staring us in the face, and it’s up to us to put the puzzle pieces together. We are the universe, learning and talking about the universe, and everything and everyone used to be unified at the very beginning. Wouldn’t it be cool if we could go back in time and share all of this information with the ancient Egyptians or the Mayans who were incredibly advanced for their times in the field of astronomy? It would blow their fuckin minds!

      Max Steele:
      1) On Earth, we have so much variety of life, variety in all aspects e.g. design, function, habitat, etc etc. However, just focussing on the aspect of "life span" we have biengs with ages measured in just days to hundreds of yrs. Although the habitat a.k.a. local conditions(deserts, mountains, forests) may differ, still its the same planet with (gravity, elements available, solar radiation, atmosphere, duration of year & seasons) bieng the same.
      2) All species on earth irrespective of thier lifespan differences, go through their life stages (birth, childhood, adult, old, death) & yet each species percieves time at the same rate. For e.g. a monkey living through its life & having the knowledge of the elephants (longer than his own) lifespan dosen't in any way percieve time in his life to be fast paced. Whatever the difference in the lifespans of each species may be, they all percieve their lives to be wholesome & in no way diminished or extended.
      3) We know that Gravity is the curvature of spacetime. The sharper the curve, the greater the mass, the greater the gravity & the slower the time.
      Summarising points 1 to 3 what is the possibility that if there may be a terrestrial planet having may be 2 to 3 times earths gravity(slower time) with its habitable zone bieng twice or thrice that of earth(longer year) so that some species on it has a lifespan 4 to 5 times greater than our maximum life span & still have a very normal feeling about it. Also how would that species percieve us or we them if there's a chance encounter.

    • @jaspalraina220
      @jaspalraina220 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Max steele:
      1)Abt majority history bieng undiscovered: Current understanding based on(recorded evidence - again by winner, structural & objects recovered evidence).
      a)Chk the results of evolution of languages their commonality in symbols, irrespective of location & age difference. Also abt break in systematic progression i.e. from written to hyroglephics & back.
      b)Materials recovered: How come all over the world ancient people did not know abt iron(most abundunt) but all knew abt existence, mining, refining & usage(medical & other) of Gold(Rare).
      c) The very fact that there are openly standing structures around the world for all to see yet no tangible explanation(fear of accepting facts other than what is already presented) & only hogwash given, shows how much we know & what lies/errors for whatever reasons they are trying to protect.
      d) Kindly chk abt origins of zodiac, connections with the 12, 60,(system of measurement), knowledge abt precession of equinoxes, how 2d shapes,3d objects, types of crystals, angles of zodiac are connected. Also check sumer origin of the crescent moon & star symbol.
      e) Also chk the 'on the ground' verified evidence presented for the 'Channeled Scablands' in Washington state, the coolies, prehistoric lake missoula, extinction of North American Mega Fauna, pre clovis culture.
      f)Also chk the evidence, long given for cosmic impact's in greenland(now sheepishly being accepted) & burckle crater off madagascar & many other impact craters found but not yet included showing their high frequency.
      All in all, there has been a pre defined structure abt what will be considered as known history, ancient history, legend etc, how it will be presented, whereas the evidence for the same is scattered & loosely co-related & innumerable other evidences suggesting the need for if not all then atleast a marked change.
      Also if mainstream educational intelligentsia is being wary of upsetting the status quo & rewriting history, then what do they want all to learn.
      All the things mentioned above are not"fantastical stories" but proven documented facts yet somehow not brought abt in mainstream science for obvious reasons.
      Above topics i touched may at the onset seem disconnected but they aren't & few & i got so much more to say.... some other time may be.

    We can already see parallel universes, sort of. Two points in space can move apart from one another faster than light, so particles in two sufficiently distantly separated regions of space can never interact with one another again, effectively sealing the regions into separate "universes." (Unless we find a way to achieve FTL travel at some point) So, when you peer into deep space, you're effectively seeing a ghost of a parallel universe which can never be reached, and will eventually become undetectable forever.

    The most plausible solution to the omniverse theory is that there are mathematical constraints on dimensions. Mathematics determines the physics of the universes. The higher in dimensions that you go the more complex the universe becomes. Most universes are probably born through black holes. The "white hole" model fits our models of the big bang closely. A white hole is the only logical explanation of what the big bang was. Of course, the white hole requires a black hole to exist in a larger parent universe. I'd assume that the more matter that goes into a black hole, the larger and more complex the baby universes can become on the white hole side. The anthropic principle tells us why life exists. It's because with infinite universes, some of them have to have laws that allow life to form, and we just got lucky enough to be in one of these universes. Also, simulations are a huge aspect of this as well. Of course, humans will make supercomputer simulations of the world within 100 years. Because the human brain shows some evidence of quantum computing inside of our neurons microtubules (such as superposition of electrons in our microtubules molecules and possibly quantum entanglement between neurons); a quantum computer is our best bet at creating artificial consciousness. Couple a conscious quantum supercomputer with better processing power, we can create hundreds of universe and consciousness simulations. Assuming that alien species would obviously do the same, there are probably millions of consciousness simulations within our galactic neighborhood. It appears that the meaning of life and the omniverse...is to create and reproduce new universes. Bear with me. Our cells purposes are to reproduce according to natural selection and to become stronger cells. This replication of information (called memes by Richard Dawkins), is fundamental to our laws of physics and is the definition of life; replicating information. This information replication orders energy and makes energy useful, removing entropy locally. Lifes purpose is to locally reduce/counteract entropy and spread. Maybe the "purpose" of the multiverse is to create new spawns of baby universes within black holes? which contain life...which ultimately create conscious ancestor and universe simulations. It is a FRACTAL.

    • @leonreynolds77
      @leonreynolds77 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Excellent comment, I do as well believe that a white hole is the big bang. And we don't see white holes in our universe is because the white holes are rips into new domain of void and spit out the massive amount of particles of the parent black hole. And perhaps the rapid space expansion is what produces the huge amount of particles that account for the matter that wouldn't fit within that black hole via virtual particles being unpaired from the tremendous expansion. Not allowing re combining in other words.

    1. There are a finate number of multiverses, each one with different and unique characteristics to it's own, from the duration of it, to the space contents within each one.
    Expansion of any capable universe, finds a way to give birth to a singularity that spawns another universe.
    Multiverses may interact with others provided they share a common characteristic that allows for a type of communication to be transferred between them.

      @The Jim Reaper™ "In an infinite universe EVERYTHING is possible so there is NOTHING that would be impossible"
      So in an infinite universe, ex hypothesi, it is impossible that anything is impossible? Sounds rather self refuting.
      I get that it is possible world semantics, however, what would it even mean that it is possible in this infinite universe based on the lights of your own reasoning that we could have states of affairs such as, married bachelors, square triangles, etc.? Sounds incoherent.

    • @AStoicMaster
      @AStoicMaster 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @The Jim Reaper™ "it means simply that its possible that nothing is impossible in an infinite universe" - And if we take that to its logical consequences, thus reducing to: It is impossible that anything is impossible by way of law of excluded middle. Restating the claim in the form of a vacuously true tautology is neither informative nor illuminating.
      "married bachelor is only really 2 words in the English language so its possible that somewhere out there, there is an Earth where England never existed, and so we dont have an English language or that the English Married Bachelor means a Pig in heat, or are the key to unlock the mysteries of the cosmos!!!"
      I believe you're missing the point by virtue of you appealing merely to semantics. What about essence and coherence? Can you please provide a coherent account without begging the question, or shifting the goal posts?
      "They also dont really mean shit either, as you can be a Married Bachelor in todays world, im single but married to my work so therefore im a Married Bachelor???"
      A bachelor is: an unmarried male. You're equivocating on the word bachelor in virtue of your proprietary definition. Do you know what the law of identity is? Everything is the same as itself; or a statement cannot not remain the same and change its truth value. A is A. A cannot be not A. All bachelors are *unmarried* This is an analytic sentence. The truth depends upon the meanings of its constituent terms (and how they’re combined) alone, as opposed to a more usual “synthetic” sentence, such as “Ophthalmologists are rich". Thus a married bachelor is incoherent and therefore impossible.
      "As for Squares aren't they all just made of Triangles anyway???"
      Made implies maker which, seems to me, would be question begging at best. Moreover, you'd be making another identity error. Things are what they are and are not what they are not. If you're committed to some kind of view that claims squares are a subset of triangles then you should be able to easily render a valid syllogism with true premises to support your claim.

    Black holes break down things to their most basic components then compress them so tightly that an entire galaxy can fit in something the size of an atom, it is then literally disconnected from space-time of the parent universe. That Singularity now exists in a dimension separate and spawns a new universe, in an ever repeating pattern. And while yes, the parent universe eventually dies off trillions of years into the future, when you’re talking about time scales that long, and infinite space anything is literally possible.
