Funny thing about "Godzilla" Gomess is made with a modified Godzilla suit. The creator of the Ultra series, Eiji Tsuburaya, used to work for Toho. When he started working on Ultra Q, he asked the studio to lend him a Godzilla. With some modifications, the very first kaiju of the Ultra series is created. Once filming is done, the suit is returned to Toho. Since then, with the success of the franchise, Tsuburaya is able to make a complete suit for Gomess for its many returns in future shows. Fun fact, in the recent Shin Ultraman (a remake of the first Ultraman show), Gomess there is made with a modified version of Shin Godzilla's model as a reference to that fact. Helps that both Shin Ultraman and Godzilla are directed by the same person.
Also, fun fact: Some of the suits in Ultraman for monsters like Eleking from Ultraseven and even Ultraman himself appeared on the Japanese show Takeshi's Castle (also called MXC in USA). Very popular here in the UK and I LOVED watching that growing up.

Fun fact: Everytime we touch and Take Me Higher (Tiga's Opening) share the same melody. It's quite a big meme in the Ultraman community, especially in the south east asian community because there is another song the shares the same melody as those 2 songs. Another fun fact: Pokemon was heavily inspired by Ultraseven because the show introduced the capsule monsters. That concept was later on inspired the creator of pokemon to create the pokeballs and the catching gimmick. The Mega Monster Galaxy basically explored the "capsule monsters" concept a bit further.

Some additional info. The shows until Ultraman 80 were all in the same universe. Ultraman 80 was designed as a reboot of the series, and ever since, each show is in a different universe, just like Super Sentai and Kamen Rider do. However, ever since Ultra Galaxy Legend they began establishing an elaborate multiverse. Each show takes place in a different universe, but unless specifically stated, the Ultraman normally comes from the original universe. Some of them, like Ultraman Zero and Ultraman Taiga, are even the children of Ultraseven and Ultraman Taro.
A couple more fun facts about Ultraman: Ultraman Tiga is the first time the series introduce the "Giant of Light" with an extra color to his suit aside from red and silver. It's not the same universe with godzilla but it was made by the same company/production (Tsuburya) -- Ultraman is an alien race from nebula m78 (the land of light). The fights for peace and protecting the vulnerable -- Most Ultraman series took place in their own Universe, Except sometimes there are sequels to those series, or a crossover series. Fun fact: there's an Ultraman series that took place is Australia & America -- Most series have their own earth's defence force. It can be military squad, Secret Agents like men in black, and sometimes their just space explolers, or none at all -- Each Ultraman have their own ways of fighting. Leo was one of the darkess ultra series existed. And Nexus was one of the new era project that should be targeted teenagers and adult instead of kids. However since it was bit deep and serious, the show views are drop and they change it tone half of the season and the ep was cut out almost 20 episodes. And for me Nexus was perfect, it so crazy that The Ultraman was not the main character. It was kind of view from someone not an Ultraman witness the problem of Ultraman and monsters problem. but since the company want to attract kids so it understandable. And Ultraman 80 was cool since the ultraman was a school teacher instead of totally military guy. We can see his struggle as a teacher life and a savior. Ultraman or the *Ultra series* (1966) came from a very different branch from *Kamen Rider* (1971) or *Super Sentai* (1975). Ultraman Trigger's opening features the words "New Generation Tiga". In a way you could say its a spinoff or reboot of Ultraman Tiga but its surprisingly its own season and canon, there's a loose connection between Tiga and Trigger. The appearance of Ultraman Trigger and Decker are very similar to Tiga and Dyna and this has been done intentionally to 'reboot' the 2000s shows for modern audience. Now to see if they'll redo Gaia because they are usually a "trio" from the 2000s Ultraman titles.
Ultraman for the most part have 2 distinct origins For the most part, Ultraman are aliens from far off planets like M78 bonding with a human host or creating a human identity because of Earth's environment being unsuitable for them, limiting their fights to 3 mins. They used to be similar to humans but the light from their artificial sun mutated them into their current form. As time goes, they would introduce Ultraman from other planets, from Earth itself or even is literally God. In each show, Ultraman's time on Earth is limited (usually 3 minutes) due to Earth's atmosphere so they need to assume a human form by either bonding with a human host or change into a human form. In recent years, that limit has varied to be based on how much energy Ultraman still has. -Usually, Ultraman is depicted in red. But, over the years, they will introduce Ultramen with different colors and form changing abilities. Typically, red Ultras will be focused on strength while blue Ultras will be focused on speed. But since around the 2010s, like Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, they will introduce gimmicks to sell toys. There was even a trend from Orb until Z where the Ultramen will use the powers of past Ultras to transform or combining their powers to create new forms.

Funny thing about "Godzilla"
Gomess is made with a modified Godzilla suit. The creator of the Ultra series, Eiji Tsuburaya, used to work for Toho. When he started working on Ultra Q, he asked the studio to lend him a Godzilla. With some modifications, the very first kaiju of the Ultra series is created. Once filming is done, the suit is returned to Toho. Since then, with the success of the franchise, Tsuburaya is able to make a complete suit for Gomess for its many returns in future shows.
Fun fact, in the recent Shin Ultraman (a remake of the first Ultraman show), Gomess there is made with a modified version of Shin Godzilla's model as a reference to that fact. Helps that both Shin Ultraman and Godzilla are directed by the same person.

Ultraman Taro (1973). The sixth Ultra Brother hails from M78 and is the son of the Father of Ultra and the Mother of Ultra. Point of fact, the Father and Mother of Ultra are not the parents of all the Ultras, they are named that because of their titles and roles.
Ultraman Leo (1974). An Ultra hailing from the destroyed planet L77, Leo descends upon the Earth as his second home and becomes its new protector. He is the first Ultra from a planet other than the previous Ultras. It is through this series we confirm that there are other Ultras exist in other planets and galaxies other than M78 and the Land of Light.
A reference in the opening title, you can see a sphere exploding right after Leo emerges. That is meant to be an imagery reference to Leo's homeworld being destroyed.
The Ultraman (1979). The first anime Ultraman series which follows its titular hero, Ultraman Joneus from the Planet U40.
Ultraman 80 (1980). It follows an Ultra who becomes a teacher to teach high school students about love and courage while also fighting to protect them as an Ultraman.
Ultraman The Adventure Begins (1987). An anime movie adaptation and the first Ultraman series entry to be released outside of Japan and in the US. The movie follows 3 titular Ultra Heroes named The Ultra Force who were tasked to protect the Earth from rogue monsters that landed on Earth. Ultraman Powered, titled Ultraman The Ultimate Hero outside of Japan (1995). The second US Ultraman series follows the first blue-eyed Ultra named Ultraman Powered.
Heisei Era: (here the Ultraman series takes a different approach with the settings taking place in different Earths, and different universes, unlike the Showa Era. Again, I'm going through in chronological order rather than going with the video)
Ultraman Zearth (1996). It is a two-live-action movie that is meant to be a parody of the Ultraman series following a germaphobic but aspiring Ultraman.
Ultraman Tiga (1996) The first Heisei Ultraman after a long hiatus. Ultraman Tiga is the first Ultra with the ability of form/type-changing. It is very popular among Malaysian and Indonesian viewers due to the name Tiga meaning three in Malay, which is a reference to Tiga's 3 forms. The series is the first to explore a different continuity of Ultras with the idea of the Multiverse different from the Showa Era, with each series having its own Hero, story, identity, and origin. Tiga for instance is actually an Ancient Giant of Light from an Ancient Civilization on Earth, reawakened in the modern era.
Ultraman Dyna (1997). After Tiga, Dyna is said to be the successor to Tiga who inherited the very same light. Although not an Ancient Giant like the former, Dyna is exceptionally strong in his own way and he too can change forms. The name Dyna is short for Dynamic for he is nicknamed as the Dynamic Hero.
Ultraman Gaia (1998). Taking place in another universe, it follows two Ultras who are born from the Earth. The Red Giant with the power of the Earth, Gaia, and The Blue Giant with the power of the Sea, Agul.
Ultraman Neos (2000). The series is meant to be a reignition to the Showa Era Ultras following its titular hero Ultraman Neos who hails from the M78 galaxy of the Showa Ultras. The name Neos is a metaphor for the resurfacing of the Showa Ultras in the 21st century.
Ultraman Cosmos (2001). The first full blue-bodied main Ultraman. Ultraman Cosmos' blue color is meant to symbolize the kinder side of Ultraman, for instead of fighting to defeat monsters and enemies, he fights with compassion by calming them without inflicting harm. Cosmos only resorts to brute force when facing enemies with pure malice and evil. Hence, he is nicknamed as the Warrior of Kindness.
Ultraman Nexus (2004). An Ultraman series targeted at teenagers and older audiences with a darker tone and complex storytelling compared to previous series. It follows its titular hero, Nexus, fighting in secrecy against hostile and evil monsters called Space Beasts who feed on humans and their fear.
Ultraman Max (2005). An Ultra from the Nebula M78, Max is known as the strongest and fastest Ultraman. This marks the first return of an Ultra from the Nebula M78 since the Showa Era/
Ultraman Mebius (2006). A rookie warrior of the Space Garrison, he has descended on the very same Earth as his Showa Ultra predecessors, marking the return of an Ultraman on that very Earth after 25 years since Ultraman 80. The show marks the 40th Anniversary of the Ultraman series.
Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle/N.E.O (2007-2008). A spin-off series of the Ultraman franchise, it focuses on the monsters and aliens that the Ultras had fought. The series centers on monster tamers called Reionics with the ability to control the Ultra Kaiju. Think of it as the Ultra Monster version of Pokemon or Digimon.
Ultraman Zero (2009 - 2010). Again, I'm doing this chronologically based on their appearance rather than following the list in the video. Ultraman Zero is the son of Ultraseven. He is known as the strongest Ultra. His first appearance was in a movie after Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle. Over the years following, he doesn't have his own series yet, only appearing in movies, specials, and side stories as you'll see later on. Sometimes even making appearances and helping other Ultras. His previous series appearance was in the Ultraman Geed series where he is a secondary Ultra. Before that, he eventually had a series called Ultraman Zero The Chronicles, which is a special recap series that retells his adventures.
Ultraman Ginga (2013). Ultraman Ginga is the first of the New Generation Ultras. The name Ginga means Galaxy in Japanese. An Ultra from the future arrives to stop an untold evil in the present by merging with a young boy.
Ultraman Ginga S (2014). Following years after the previous entry, it centers on the return of Ginga facing a new evil and fighting alongside a new Ultra, a guardian of the subterranean world named Ultraman Victory.
Ultraman X (2015). A cyber Ultra with digitized powers and donned armor called MonsArmor, made by scanning cards of cybernetic copies of kaiju called Cyber Monsters.
Ultraman Orb (2016). A wandering warrior with the power of fusion by fusing the power of two Ultras to create forms.
Ultraman Geed (2017). A young man who is actually a genetic clone of an evil Ultra (Ultraman Belial), to be his heir but chooses his fate and fights as a hero. Like Orb, he too can fuse two powers of previous Ultras as components that give him a variety of forms.
Ultraman R/B [pronounced as Ruebe] (2018). Two brothers become Ultras and fight to protect their city and family while solving many mysteries of their powers, with brotherhood teamwork.
Reiwa Era:
Ultraman Taiga (2019). The son of Ultraman Taro, Taiga defends Earth with his team of Ultras, Tri-Squad. It is the first to have a human host merging with 3 individual Ultras instead of 1. The Tri-Squad team members are The Hero of Light, Ultraman Taiga, and the leader. The Sage of Power, Ultraman Titas: a muscular yet wise Ultra from the U40, the homeworld of Ultraman Joneus. And lastly, The Champion of the Wind, Ultraman Fuma: is known for his wind-like speed and agility, and his ninja techniques.
Ultraman Z (2020). A young, hot-blooded, and passionate rookie who dreams of being a great Ultra like his idol and master, Ultraman Zero. He fights using 3 Ultra Medals of previous Ultras to change form based on the condition of the battle.
Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga (2021).In commemoration of Ultraman Tiga's 25th Anniversary, Trigger has a similar story to Tiga but slightly different for it takes place in an alternate universe. Like Tiga, Trigger is an Ancient Giant of Light from the Ultra Ancient Civilization fighting against beings of Darkness, which are the 3 Giants of Darkness. And has now reawakened again to face the revived evil in the modern world.
Ultraman Decker (2022). Like how Dyna follows after Tiga, the concept of this series is much the same. You can say that Decker is the New Generation Dyna.
Ultraman Blazar (2023). A mysterious lifeform, he is given the codename Ultraman and becomes an urban legend after astronauts sighted him. Unlike previous Ultras in the series, Blazar is unique for his homeworld is that of a tribal society instead of an advanced, civilized world. His name Blazar is after the luminous active galactic nucleus, blazars, with his home galaxy the M421 being the example.

Fun fact: Everytime we touch and Take Me Higher (Tiga's Opening) share the same melody. It's quite a big meme in the Ultraman community, especially in the south east asian community because there is another song the shares the same melody as those 2 songs.
Another fun fact: Pokemon was heavily inspired by Ultraseven because the show introduced the capsule monsters. That concept was later on inspired the creator of pokemon to create the pokeballs and the catching gimmick. The Mega Monster Galaxy basically explored the "capsule monsters" concept a bit further.

The creator of Ultraman was a devout catholic, and so included a ton of catholic imagery in his productions (including Ultraman constantly getting crucified). So, whenever you see religious imagery in tokusatsu or anime, it’s likely an Ultraman reference rather than a use of religious imagery just because it fit the vibe.

Some additional info. The shows until Ultraman 80 were all in the same universe. Ultraman 80 was designed as a reboot of the series, and ever since, each show is in a different universe, just like Super Sentai and Kamen Rider do. However, ever since Ultra Galaxy Legend they began establishing an elaborate multiverse. Each show takes place in a different universe, but unless specifically stated, the Ultraman normally comes from the original universe. Some of them, like Ultraman Zero and Ultraman Taiga, are even the children of Ultraseven and Ultraman Taro.

Ultraman Tiga is the first time the series introduce the "Giant of Light" with an extra color to his suit aside from red and silver. Tiga won quite a few entertainment rewards for being one of the best Tokusatsu series of its time. He's the first of the "Heisei" era of Ultraman.
Tiga also introduced form changes for the hero. Specifically for Tiga and Dyna, their suits change colors based on what they need to adapt to the situation. The multicolored suit is their balanced form, red for more power but less speed, and blue/indigo for more speed and less power. For Dyna though, his Miracle Type (blue colored form) gives him psychic abilities.

correction about that first one, it's a different company, Godzilla was made by Toho but Eiji Tsuburaya did work in some early Godzilla instalments, that's why he got to borrow and modified some Toho suit to be used in Ultra Q and Ultraman, the most popular and well-known one being Gomess' suit that was modified from Godzilla's and it was also referenced in Shin Ultraman

For the most part, it’s different forms (if the Ultra has different forms). But sometimes there is more than one Ultra in the show. I believe Ultraman Gaia is the first show to have multiple Ultras

Ultraman is not the same universe as Godzilla however Eiji Tsubaraya the creator of Ultraman also worked on the old Godzilla movies prior to making Ultraman so they have some connection, a Godzilla suit was reused in Ultraman as a "new" monster called Jirass, he's just Godzilla but with a frill on his neck.
Leo was one of the darkess ultra series existed. And Nexus was one of the new era project that should be targeted teenagers and adult instead of kids. However since it was bit deep and serious, the show views are drop and they change it tone half of the season and the ep was cut out almost 20 episodes. And for me Nexus was perfect, it so crazy that The Ultraman was not the main character. It was kind of view from someone not an Ultraman witness the problem of Ultraman and monsters problem. but since the company want to attract kids so it understandable. And Ultraman 80 was cool since the ultraman was a school teacher instead of totally military guy. We can see his struggle as a teacher life and a savior. Start from Ginga, the tone, theme and product commercial hardly follow Super Sentai and Kamen Rider since they need to sell product/toys/collectible for business purpose.

Ultraman Trigger's opening features the words "New Generation Tiga". In a way you could say its a spinoff or reboot of Ultraman Tiga but its surprisingly its own season and canon, there's a loose connection between Tiga and Trigger. The appearance of Ultraman Trigger and Decker are very similar to Tiga and Dyna and this has been done intentionally to 'reboot' the 2000s shows for modern audience. Now to see if they'll redo Gaia because they are usually a "trio" from the 2000s Ultraman titles.

For the most part, Ultraman are aliens from far off planets like M78 bonding with a human host or creating a human identity because of Earth's environment being unsuitable for them, limiting their fights to 3 mins.
Other instances can include a hidden species on earth or a manifestation of the earth itself, or perhaps divine origins choosing a human to bond with.
Either way a human host or identity is basically necessary to help them cool down/recharge.

There are three main points about Ultraman
-The Ultra series started off not with Ultraman, but Ultra Q. It's something like the Twilight Zone that leans more towards mystery. Thats why the openings for alot of the Ultraman shows are like that since the franchise is more towards mystery. It's until the 2010s where it started to lean more towards action like Kamen Rider and Super Sentai.
-The Ultramen themselves are actually aliens. The majority of them are from the planet M78. They used to be similar to humans but the light from their artificial sun mutated them into their current form. As time goes, they would introduce Ultraman from other planets, from Earth itself or even is literally God. In each show, Ultraman's time on Earth is limited (usually 3 minutes) due to Earth's atmosphere so they need to assume a human form by either bonding with a human host or change into a human form. In recent years, that limit has varied to be based on how much energy Ultraman still has.
-Usually, Ultraman is depicted in red. But, over the years, they will introduce Ultramen with different colors and form changing abilities. Typically, red Ultras will be focused on strength while blue Ultras will be focused on speed. But since around the 2010s, like Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, they will introduce gimmicks to sell toys. There was even a trend from Orb until Z where the Ultramen will use the powers of past Ultras to transform or combining their powers to create new forms.
