Great to see Bosch smart system evolving here. FYI, an open system like Specialized uses in their Levos (since Gen1) combined with 3rd party devices like Wahoo elemnt roam offer at least the same connectivity. But hardly no one knows. Navigation, SOC, Watts, RPM, Rider Mode - all visible via bluetooth or ant+. Keep up your great work, it's always a pleasure to watch your content!
Hope you liked the vid and the bike! PS - Many of you are asking about the phone holder. Its 99% the same as this one! bit.ly/3uzP1mp

I like the new Bosch Navigation system, I hope it is included on all new bikes with the new Bosch smart system! Also, if you can get your hands on the new Cannondale Moterra LT2, that would be awesome! Cheers!
Quite often the mapping on these apps is next to useless when trying to find the route of a bridleway across an open field. An O/S option would take it to the next level like outdooractive.
I had one on my old canyon spectral. I never used it to charge but It was handy for draining the water out after mostly soggy rides. I’d rather the had a more robust seal. 😬 so pleased about that app. Looks cool. Eagerly awaiting my cube stereo 140 hybrid TM. Just a bit better spec and a little more grrrr. 😂 so glad I’ve bumbled into your Chanel. Great work. 🙏🚲💥
Price increased by around 1000 euro (the "small" version is the same, like before, with 625 battery), pretty crazy. I'm satisfied with my 6.9 from 2020, but the value for money is getting worse and worse at focus. This model started at around 4699, then gone up to 4999 and now this jump to 6099 (small) and 6299 euro for the new 750+kiox300. And the weight is more than 26.5 kg, what's going on, cube is way way cheaper (eg the stereo hybrid 120 slt 750 - 1000 euro less, the normal "sl" even 1700 euro) and also way lighter, at least according to their data sheet😆
Its true buddy, what happend to the days where ya just jump on a bike and enjoy riding feeling free like a bird!!! Everyone chases the new model today and deep down they all do the same thing the wheels go round and you pedal 🤣🧐😉🤝🏼👍🏻
Interesting to hear you say about the combined weight limit. I saw a Nukeproof Megawatt the other day that had a total weight (bike, rider and gear) of 136kg. Bike was around 25kg, don't think you can really call it Nukeproof if it cant hold a bigger than average size bloke?
I have this ebike for 6 months and I love it. Being a heavy bloke I pushing the weight limit of 150kg to it's limit(maybe even beyond). I'm not riding red lines at bikeparks, I love riding in the nature, forest fire roads, field roads and basically exploring my surrounding and for that, this bike is a blessing. It's comfy so that I can take advantage of the big battery a ride a lot kilometers. It's pretty stable and forgiving. Climbing hills(except for very steep ones, where as Rob mentioned the front wheel tends to lift up) is actually more fun for me than riding downhill, pure joy and smile from ear to ear. I cannot comment on rough rocky steep technical descents as I don't really drive such trails.
Good review, although at 26.5 kg not for me, on my trails and routes I often have to lift the bike up over gates etc. My current e MTB is about 21.5 kg and that’s enough 💪
If you're having to lift your bike over gates one has to ask if you should be riding there. Bridleways and Byways have to have an open gate which is illegal to lock or obstruct.
Looks cool but how on earth is it that heavy?! Granted its got a big 750wh battery but The Jam2 7.9 with a heavier build (shimano 720wh) is listed at 24.8kg, their big hitting Sam2 with fox 28 and coil shock (bosch 627wh) is 26.2 kg. The old Thron2 with granted the smaller 625 wh battery is listed at 23.3kg. My wife was thinking of getting the thron. Looks like she better snap up an old one before they are gone.
That phone integration is def a step in the right direction, can’t believe it can’t take gpx’s tho. And a bike with that amount of travel should be about 3kgs lighter.
The website states that the bike should be limited to 60cm jumps/drops, but this seems conservative? Have you tested performance for larger drops than this? I think your drop at around 5:23 would more than 100cm, have you tried larger than this? Cheers!
Another great video. Bosch are on a winner with there integration. That focus bike looks like a great tourer, shame the colours hideous. Not for me but I'm sure it'll appeal to the masses
Great review Rob. What's the crack with using bosch and shimano. I know the jam2 is using shimano I believe. I thought they'd stick with one motor manufacturer?
great review rob, as always! bosch smart system seems to deliver on everything i have wished for in the past. no stupidly located display anymore with wireless connection to my smartphone, great stuff. but what about the prices? its getting worse year over year. i am tracking the model years since 3 years as i was waiting for some connectivity breakthrough, price-wise this was a foolish thing to do 🙂 thron² 6.7 this year is as much as thron² 6.9 back in 2020... where will this all be going??

Rack, mudguards, integrated lights? Yes yes yes! £5.6k not bad as ebikes go. 750w battery, good. Usb charging, good. Bit heavy. Maybe needs a bit more suspension like my Rail 5. Navigation off road is great! Is tour+ the same as emtb lite (tour as was)?

I'm not convinced Rob. An all day adventure bike that you've razzed around your local trails. You don't get excited unless it's got a Zeb or coil shocks or other enduro specs. I just don't see the same enthusiasm in a review like this. Take it out for a few days of bike packing. Go on an adventure. I'm just not sure this is a product you should be reviewing....
Hey mate. I actually have 2 of these bikes and have we have done a some big days including a dawn till dusk day in Scotland on them both, as well as multiple days down south. Also, my wife preferred it to any other bike she has ridden including long travel enduro bikes. There’s a market for other stuff than enduro and I think it’s important to cover it 👍 So true, no coil or Zeb, but a bike that has a place in the market so worth sharing 👍
@@RobRidesEMTB Crickey my comment was excessively negative. Not fair to you Rob, nor does it reflect how much i appreciate the content you put out there. So meant for mellow trails with a slack head angle? With only 120 mm travel it is not really designed for bike parks and steep rampage runs 66 Deg is too slack. Seems that manufacturers just choose a head angle they can buy in quantity and give the prospective customers something not suitable for normal riding. The fitting of an non ebike group set will just wear out too fast. This bike is too heavy, too slack and the group set not suitable. E SUV's with full suspension are not mountain bikes.
Geez the term 'mountain bike' musta changed a lot in the past 20 yrs. It seems the current generation of riders need to put their egos away for a while. It's sounding very elitist at the moment.
@@waynerichards2944 Bicycles have been finely tuned for every conceivable purpose to get the maximum out of human power. Hey Rob. Saw you on the Focus advert. Brought a smile to my face.

I wish my ebike had an onboard charger, such a handy port to have for the navigating using my phone.
It really is helpful. I used it twice already on this bike.

Hmm, just a weak point for water and adds to the cost of manufacture I think. Everyone has a portable charger by now surely.

Bosch are Killing it, that integration with the phone is epic! Does it have the option to display rider power output for training sessions?
Not that I noticed at the moment, but the regular Kiox display does it, so I don’t see why they couldn’t add it in the future
