    Love the context, presentation, and clever comparison to Toy Story. My only quibble is that you said Aliyah Boston's numbers weren't off the chart in this game. They were 9-15-8 ... almost a triple double and almost triple her average number of assists! I think Aliyah is learning to become a better passer and playmaker in her own right from watching and learning from Caitlin what is possible. If Aliyah's numbers didn't stand out to you in that game, it was only because of the sun-like brilliance of Caitlin, Kelsey, and Lexi. By the way, EXUBERANCE is how I felt while watching the Fever during the fourth quarter of that game. Thank you!

      @@REB6509 Aliyah is quietly becoming an assassin. Lol. You are right, CC, Kelsey and Lexie were showing out all over the place, so you couldn’t take your eyes off of them. Meanwhile, Aliyah is in the background doing her thing. I was shocked when the announcer was going on and on about Aaliyah’s triple double. I looked at my husband, “when did that happen?” Lol.

    I was very disappointed in Skylar’s unnecessary and intentional cheap shot on CC. Given how Skylar was treated by the Phoenix Mercury team prior to her rejection subsequent ejection from that team. I understand that Skylar was frustrated because her team was losing; however, she is a professional yet in this case, her action was bush league.
    Skylar’s play during the game was good so, there was absolutely NO need for her retaliatory and unprovoked cheap shot against any opposing player. Would she have taken this cheap shot against Diana Taurasi?
    Skylar’s cheap shot mirrored her coach’s silly and entitled actions towards the Fevers’ Coach (Sides) at end of the game! Seattle storm - do better!

    Mitchell’s play has completely changed my opinion of her professionalism and basketball skill set. Unfortunately, of late, she has been hinting about leaving the Fevers to dip her toes in the free agency market. However, is this just her cleaver ploy and negotiation tactic to command more money form the Fevers i.e. if you want my skill set, pay for it. Nonetheless, long term, her leaving the Fevers will be a regrettable mistake on her part.
    Unlike Shaq and Penny, Shaq and Kobe, I hope Mitchell “I got it moment”is not in the rear view mirror. If I could say anything to her, it would be right now, you are a iron in a red hot fire so, stay with the Fevers and work with CC and AB until the fire dims naturally (which will come soon enough).
    Curry, Clay and Green for the Warriors kept their iron in the fire and built
    a championship dynasty while also getting paid handsomely.

      I've watched the replay at least ten times and when SDS pushed CC, she pushed her towards the Seattle bench, and almost into Coach Quinn. The momentum of the push caused CC to walk right past Quinn and towards the Seattle players near the bench. At that very instant, Coach Quinn made a B-line to Coach Sides. I think that maybe she was mad about CC walking toward her team on the sidelines while still lifting one arm up in the same manner that she had been raising both arms, seconds earlier to excite the Fever crowd. Coach Quinn did not see SDS push CC, so she probably thought that CC intentionally walked into the area where her team was forming a huddle (for a time out) and was purposely working to further excite the Fever crowd right where her team was trying to huddle. The Fever had just gone on a 16 point run, and IT LOOKED LIKE CC WAS DISRESPECTING SEATTLE BY "WORKING THE CROWD" IN THE MIDST OF SEATTLE'S HUDDLE! I can't be certain that this is what got Coach Quinn so mad, but this makes a lot more sense than her flying into a rage because Sides didn't bench her starters at the exact same time that Quinn did, because she couldn't have realistically expected Sides to know that she (Quinn) had benched her players during the time out - Sides was too busy with her own team to be watching what Quinn was doing. However, I can understand why Quinn got mad if she thought that CC was making a mockery of Quinn's team by working the crowd from Seattle's bench! What do you think? Does this make sense to you?

    Bird is a smart lady, but there are two things to think about. #1 CC has adjusted to being hard covered and has passed her way through it. If CC is covered she passes, and if not, she shoots, either way she is scoring. #2 CC has toughened up quite a bit since the start, gaining confidence and defending herself. She has played against everybody in the league and she has learned that she is as good or much better than all the players!!! One on one, she could beat 95% of these players!

    Caitlin being injected into the Fever team has heightened the teams playing aggression overall, like by playing with a team spirit has shown team as a whole, and in doing so has had an effect on the rest of the league. The "oldies" are insulted where they should be grateful that "new blood" has caused a better game, whether it caused them to look like they were just playing a street folly and drawing a minimal pay. Question
    Can someone tell me why Sheryl Swoopes, one of the most famous Women's Basketball Players of all time, take to the National Media to disparage Caitlin Clark, who was a fan of Sheryl Swoopes, lying about her records and performances Which were total Fabrications.
    Is it Racist/Hateful, because Clark is a Straight, White and Catholic Sensation from Iowa.
    The worst part of Sheryl Swoopes comments is that she making them at a time when Women's Basketball is Encountering the greatest increase in it's popularity and viewership Worldwide.
    When Caitlin's Legion of young Girls hear Sheryl Swoopes Hateful comments they must be very Confused.
    As an Advocate of Women's Equality, I am enjoying seeing Women's Sport's Popularity, Viewership, Endorsements and record TV Contacts increasing at
    an exponential rate.
    Waiting for a responsible answer.

  • @lalaurienne

    This sounds like AI. Anyhow, it's shallow in its take on Skylar. Skylar has no need to be jealous of Caitlin nor has she anything to prove. The Storm coach was frustrated at Christy Sides' breach of etiquette which was probably unintentional. During the time out, Christy hadn't cleared her starters off the floor as is customary, in the last moment, when a game has been won and lost. Add to that mistake Caitlin needlessly jazzing the crowd which, unfortunately, she did while approaching the Storm bench. Skyler is a team leader and went to support her coach. Bumping Caitlin was nothing. Caitlin barely noticed it and though Skylar should've been more careful, her focus wasn't on Caitlin. And Skylar was right to warn the ref, "Don't touch me," as the ref gave her an inappropriate look. Basically, the Storm had just been humiliated, tempers were short, and Caitlin and the Fever (I'm a fan of both) could have handled it better.

      @BigAl53750 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well, I don’t know much about basketball (Soccer and Rugby were my sports) but I do know about teamwork and team dynamics, which is how I coached my daughter’s B’ball team through an unbeaten season, including the premiership game at the finish. That was just an local highschool competition here in Melbourne Australia, but I know that if I or any other coach approached the opposition bench at any time beofre the end of the game, we would be warned about a Tech foul. I have seen coaches that ignored that warning get escorted out of the arena. And that’s just High School games! I know that the same kind of rules apply in Soccer, Rugby Union, Rugby League, and Australian Rules Football, so I have to wonder why it is that you think that some ‘customary’ (also unwritten) ‘rule’ allows someone to ignore what is standard etiquette in other team sports around the world. Is that because Americans have no idea of sportmanslike behaviour? As for Clark revving up the crowd, it doesn’t matter where she is at the time she does that, it’s HER HOME CROWD and the Fever won! Convincingly!
      Just for the record, I don’t personally like ANY form of disrespect for your opponents in any game. I was raised to respect your opponents, in victory, or loss, and to treat them as worthy opponents at all times. Trash talk used to be silenced by Referees when I was a player in the 60’s and 70’s. Now, it’s ‘all part of the game’. Okay, that’s fine, but I know that in the sports that I played, if you knocked someone to the ground ‘off the ball' like Chennedy Carter did, you would definitely get a Penalty (or Free Kick in Soccer, if outside the box) awarded to the other team, which could cost your team points. If it was a serious action, such as Chennedy’s was, the player would very likely get a yellow card, which in both codes of Rugby would mean ten minutes off the field for the offender and your team plays with one less player. If the action was judged by the Ref to be malicious, the player could be sent off for the duration!
      An effort such as the Skylar one doesn’t happen in any of those games, because the repecussions are severe. The ruling bodies will charge that it brings the game into disrepute and significant fines will be imposed on the player, by not only the rulling body, but their own club, for doing that. I have watched Rugby League and Rugby Union games where the players have been extremely heated in the game and even on the verge of punches being thrown, but after the game is over, they will shake hands, hug, have a few laughs with one another, etc. I cannot recall any game where a star player on one team has been singled out in such a way and NEVER in front of a home crowd! Aussies love sports, but one thing we despise is people who can’t lose gracefully. Any complaining is howled down as childish and the WNBA, from what I’ve seen of the press conferences and behaviour, would drive people away in droves. If they wanted to start a League like that here, they’d have to cut that out right at the start. I know that most Americans have the same mindset; Train hard, play hard, take your losses and your wins as they come and treat everyone in the game with respect. I’m appalled at players (CC included) mouthing off to Referees! That will cost the player amd the team in all the different types of football I have mentioned (In Aussie rules, it’s a 50 yard penalty! For each infraction!) In Rugby League it’s ten yards and Rugbby Union is the same. You do NOT even argue with the Refs, let alone abuse them, or it will cost you big time. Referees are human and make mistakes. Any obviously questionable decisions can be challenged by Teams after the game is over (At least in most sports that I know of) but most of the time, the only player who is legally allowed to talk to the Referee, is the captain of either team and even then, they must do so respectfully. Again, this is because standards of etiquette have been relaxed. Trash talk is now something to praise and nobody thinks that’s wrong, but it IS! Let your play or your prowess do the talking and let your mouth keep shut, unless it’s to speak well of your opponents. I never watched WNBA until I heard about Caitlyn Clark, but as a father of two daughters, I always though the jokes were mean. Now I can see where they come from.

      You bring up some thoughtful points. It’s true that emotions can run high in competitive moments like that, and what happened was likely a mix of frustration and miscommunication. But these situations can be teaching moments for everyone involved. Thanks for sharing your perspective!

      @lalaurienne 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@BigAl53750 I'm not familiar with the rules of the sports you mention, but I agree with your points. My sports were American football and baseball and, at that remote time, there was no trash talking or mouthing off at the refs/umpires allowed. And we lined up to shake hands after each game. Times have changed. I thought the Storm's coach was calling Christy Sides out for not clearing the floor of her starters, maybe an oversight on C.S.' part, and Skylar, as team captain, was backing up her coach. I was sorry to see the incident and the one on the floor as Skylar is actually a very classy lady. It looked like Caitlin was pouring it on by revving up the crowd when the game, in effect, was over. Not very good sportsmanship. And Chennedy Carter should be expelled from the W no question. Poor reffing is a problem though. Something needs to be done.
