True we had a fatal accident here w a few survivors. The driver - when someone stopped to help. We don't need help we are okay. Heck no. One person was thrown out of the car into a tree. Terrible. This guy was trying to avoid dui charges a d arrest he didn't even care about the dead or the injured ones who would have died ao first responders. The driver is now in jail after. Released from hospital 2 charges murder abd much.more he will spend much time in prison. He needs to.

Six MONTHS to find out why a pickup truck driver crossed the center line? My condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of those killed and severely injured that may not survive. It doesn't matter "who" these people were - they were human beings with families and loved ones just trying to feed their families. This is so very sad. 😢🙏🏽

@@bluu7964 All information matters and that way every victim can be cared for properly and their medical records kept for future reference. Many of them may need to be put on temporary and permanent disability. You act like everything is just so simple. It's not. Everything takes a lot of work.

Reporters always ask the stupidest questions. This was a horrible, tragic accident. The victims immigration status has NOTHING to do with any of this. SMH.
I agree, reporters are basically useless, we can replace them with robots. But every bit of information is needed and relevant when piecing things together in an investigation.
Immigration status could be a factor. If the people killed or injured were here illegally, then they were involved in an accident that never should have involved those individuals. But the sheriff, like so many others, doesn't want to take sides on this hot button issue.

At this point it does not matter who they are or where they came from. Right now we just need to pray for them all and the families of the ones who died. May God be with the ones who are injured. I pray also for the law enforcement and the homicide investigation team will be able to find the cause and who was at fault.

I agree. I live in Maine and worked for a store that had Western Union. Every Friday, we would have many migrant workers, who picked apples at our local orchards. They were some of the nicest people, they were polite.They lined up so they were right in front of the Western Union machine. They stayed in the line, no pushing no shoving, and when they came up to the counter, they had the paperwork completely filled out. Everything was ready so the process was very quick. I miss the workers. I'd rather take care of a long line of the workers than one Karen.

This happened in Indian River County about 20 years ago. A couple of my co-workers were first on the scene and were left with emotional trauma.
Could have happened with a tour bus last week on Route 70, except the speedster's spun-out car was outweighed by the type one bus.
Try being the EMT/Paramedic on these scenes. You take it with you for the rest of your life. Baby /kid calls where the worst of all.

Had a rear end accident on highway 42 April 28. FHP filed a report. Response time delayed. Was informed Marion County has only 2 police patrol officers in the entire county of Marion. I asked why the influx of population wouldn't mandate the hiring of more officers. Was informed that prior officers were being transfered elsewhere (voluntarily). Developers and county officials are not working to solve this solution. Insurance rates have gone up every 6 months and state laws mandate registration and license fees when your address changes from out of state.

The driver of the pickup truck has been changed with D.U.I. 8 counts of manslaughter.Just saw it on the local news in Florida.

THey say the driver was drunk. This is an unpopular opinion but my heart also goes out to him. Having to live the rest of your life knowing how many people you killed/ injured. If he has a heart it will bother him forever. I think the majority of us on here have been buzzed/ drunk a few times and gotten behind the wheel. You never know what one dumb decision can do to change your life but others as well. My heart goes out to everyone. Their will always be people that get behind the wheel that are drunk and think they can drive and that they are invincible and the alcohol won't impair them. Or maybe their so drunk they stop caring who they may hurt?

I worked a migrant bus crash off 98 in Frostproof a little while back. The bus drove into the path of a semi hauling fuel. I believe only one person passed in that accident. This makes the 4th migrant bus crash WITH fatalities that I KNOW OF. Makes you wonder with the common denominator
People make mistakes and the Media have an agenda? Maybe that's the only commonality that matters.
