+BristolRE I believe it should be Brixton and Croydon. Brixton have lost the 159 and had many buses displaced by LT conversions. Meanwhile, TC have gained DWs either from the 38 or 141 meaning that older DWs and previously the DLAs have been displaced.
Joe Griffin I believe the hand brake is activated on back wheels, so when you see cars being towed for parking illegally, when it’s towed from front, it leaves rubber marks on the road, I guess that’s why it’s towed from the back
I once asked this of a guy on Flickr who took a photo of a recovery truck with bus with the back end on the lift like here . I didn't realise the photographer was the recovery truck operator . He told me the back axel of the bus had jammed and wasn't working

Re-paints are done in-house at Enfield bus garage. I think they were going to do this one and use it as a driver trainer, then changed their minds.

Because the bus had been rubbed down and had a couple of new panels ready to be painted as a training bus, but then they changed their minds.

Probably because it was parked front facing inwards,and the rear was facing towards the exit
For some reason tow wagon drivers prefer lifting the rear over towing from the front.
