I became a Nurse at 50 after raising 6 children. I had been out of the corporate world for 20 years. i wanted to end up working in Labor and Delivery after a couple of years in med surge. I did very well in school and was offered a job in Critical Care. My husband had been laid off and we needed benefits. I took it but the charting was brutal and I was too slow at it . 😮. I did well clinically but the stress was so high that I asked to move to med surge . My manager would not let me. She was always kind to me and wanted me to stay in CCU. I was in a new nurse residency and could not transfer without her permission. But I needed a slower pace so I left the hospital after 6 months. I accepted a job in an OBGYN outpatient clinic and will start soon .hope I will do ok. I feel bad that I don’t have more hospital experience but I needed to do what was best for me . I hope we can all be happy with what we do
No one ever talks about Pre-Admission testing! M-F, no weekends, evenings or holidays. I’ve worked in PAT for the majority of my career (3 years after working the floor) and haven’t looked back!
Integrative Medicine Center - we teach oncology patients about healthy lifestyle, nutrition and exercise, sleep, meditation, etc. and also provide oncology massage, acupuncture, music therapy, art therapy, etc. love it!
Hi I'm massage therapists already and looking forward to becoming a RN but once I get graduated I would love to do this kind of stuff... Acupuncture and so on... Please let us know how did you do to find the training where? Blahs blahs thanks 👍
Thank you so much for this video...really informative and super helpful for me! I recently withdrew from nursing school because I wasn’t sure it was for me anymore... but knowing how many more options there are is so reassuring. Most of the nursing positions you mentioned in this video align with me a lot better (as oppose to being a bedside nurse in ICU, SNF, ER, etc)
You're very welcome. I'm glad you found this helpful. I wish nursing school talked more about the options (non-bedside jobs) available to nurses after they graduate.
I've been in case management and utilization review for about 10 years. I've done better than that pay both as a staff nurse and as a traveler. In Ohio I would say you make about $85,000 a year. Washington DC about 105,000 a year Southern California about 125,000 a year. I have been doing remote utilization review and make about 45 to $75 an hour. When I did on site travel positions for case management I made closer to $150,000
Wow these are big figures . 👏 Here in Zambia nurses in the public and most private hospitals are paid way less compared to the workload and nurse patient ratio.
I think it's one of those jobs where it's not for everyone. Some people get a lot of joy from working with kids and actually find it more stressful working with adults than with kids.
1: Nurse Researcher $86,110 / annually
2: Camp Nurses - $44,309 /annually
3: Lactation Consultant - $84,683 / annually
4: Clinic Nurse - $46,637 / annually
5: Public Health Nurse - $63,335 / annually
6: Nurse Informatics (technology)- $102,230 / annually
7: School Nurse - $51,315 / annually
8: Case Manager - $81,172 / annually
9: Genetics Nurse - $73,386 / annually
10: Nurse Educator - $76,591 / annually
How can I get a job in the US?
Am a mental health nurse.

There's Hospice Nursing. Lower stress than floor nursing and pays well too.
I’m looking into this, don’t know where too. I’m an LVN

Hospital nursing is hard. I think it's impressive you did it for 25 years.
I am a nurse… stressful. Thanks for the video
Yes it is. Have you been able to find a lower stressful job or specialty?
This video was very informative and helpful. Thank you for the time and effort you put into it.
You're welcome Erica. Glad it was helpful!
Hello boss. Can a new guaduated nurse get this job position without any experience working as a bedside nurse? Thanks.
Which job specifically?
Interesting! Great content! Thanks for sharing. ☺️
Awesome! Thank you for watching.
Hi nurse money, I love this, Periodt!!!
Thank you.
I was just wondering if there was any legit nursing jobs that are remote?
BUT if you deal with high stress levels/anxiety/or as an older pursuing nursing, would you recommend a job that our age group can go into?
Where is the best place to find information (qualifications/pre-recks) on the genetic nurse; very interesting, thanks.
Thank you for sharing!!
There's nothing about type of degree level for the different positions
School, low acuity psych, private duty, nurse educator in a university
What about hospice nurse?
Very stressful!!
