I love using scraps in this way - I make sunset cards, with sand color at the bottom, then blues, then the sunset colors. So much fun!

Hi Connie, it's always fun to make a trip down memory lane, right? My wheels are spinning, making a "welcome" card for our new minister who'll start as of Oct 1st! Almost done, too - what a lovely, easy card and such a great way to use up scraps! The European basic card stock size is weird: 11 3/4" long and just over 8 1/4" wide. So we cut it down to 29 centimeters and have a small strip left - about the size you're using! AWESOME! tfs, Connie.

@@simplysimplestamping Finished! We had a retired lady taking care of pastoral needs. Our search for a new minister was so much hampered by Covid, but the committee found a man in his early fourties! So excited!

Ohhh yes Connie, love both of these cards and what a great idea for using up scraps. Gosh your fussy cutting is so perfect it looked like you had punched or die cut the zebra out. So glad your friend gave you that tip on how to fussy cut and you shared it with us because it is something I hate and now choose not to do it because everything I do just looks rubbish and ends up in the bin....but yayy going to try later and practice your way because that looks great and it just makes a card stand out.
Oh I was so thrilled to see that masculine card too..I have so many dark scraps that this is just ideal to get rid of them. Thank you for sharing this tutorial with us and very much appreciated....oh another thing I am struggling with is a shaker card and just making such a pigs ear of them. If you have done one or will be doing one then that will just be great to see step by step.I wanted to do a Christmas one but so far my bin is winning.
You and your family have a great and safe weekend, catch you again soon. xx 😘👍😎🥂👏👋

Great card. I'm curious to know how Americans display their cards as I see a lot created that wouldn't stand up. Here in the UK we would stand them up on a shelf, windowsill or mantlepiece.

KathleenMc73 Sometimes if one won’t open and stand, we make it a “leaner” and rest it wherever, against the wall, etc.

@@simplysimplestamping I've hung Xmas cards when at the in-laws but some are then sideways on if side folding.
I was just curious cos I've seen a lot of designers create cards with lopsided folds, bottom folds etc and thought "they must do things differently on the States".

I just put my color accent mat on top of the base card, then the focus on top of that. If I have to allow more cardstock to accommodate the size of the card, then I will. It was a neat idea to put the color on the bottom. But then, not everyone has a place, or desire, to lean a card against something. Just my 2 cents.💁‍♀️
