The Conference Board of Canada said this will lower Canada's GDP by 1% and will lower Alberta's GDP by 5%. For a country that already has a declining GDP per capita, this will only result in a decline in standards of living. If there is any way AB can get out of Canada, I say do it.

To be clear, our economies in the east are largely dependent on oil and gas industry as well, especially here in NB. Progressives are a minority everywhere in Canada. Most of us are moderates. Most Eastern provinces have elected Conservative governments in the last 8+ years. The only reason Liberals - who I did not vote for - won the recent election is because Higgs leaned too far right with fringe ideas instead of focusing on common sense policies. His own party revolted against him over it. Holt will be held to the same standard by NB'ers as every other Liberal we've voted out when they get too loopy. What happened here in NB and in the US this week should be a stark warning to every partisan on both sides flirting with fringe ideas. Some Canadians might be slow to catch on but most aren't going to put up with it. People like Trudeau and Guilbeault need to go asap. The Liberals need to take a long look in the mirror and start leaning back to their centrist roots if they want to survive as a party. Progressives have destroyed their brand.

If you add the Lib and NDP numbers together you can see a potential Coalition government coming. How will Albertans feel when the CPC gets more votes than the Libs but don't get to form government?

I have and always supported oil and gas. I remember when our economy flourished and people were happy. Oil was shipped out of our country and always had money and also had responsible spending and reasonable Government . We need our Canada back.

This government is systematically destroying the resource based economy of Canada, replacing former high living standards with utopian phrases. One can only hope that there will be conservative change in the political landscape a year from now. If not, Alberta should separate. My vote in this regard will be "yes". I have enough. People in the big cities of the east will only wake up when there pensions cannot be paid anymore.

What I’m curious about is why he wants to destroy the economy. While giving billions in tax cuts and subsidies for battery plants they do nothing to get mines going to supply these plants. While these mines are bad for the environment and it’s better to import the raw materials it doesn’t make sense from a financial position and could also lead to shortages. If the government was to put some money into starting up some mines it would be nothing compared to what’s going into these battery plants. People are willing to invest their money into these projects if only the government would let them go ahead.

Alberta is getting what others vote for. Alberta is getting what it should expect, being in the Canadian federation.

Alberta could certainly become TEXAS NORTH after joining the United States.
Trudue, Freeland and Gaybooat would love that.
