I had a very similar experience but have been sticking it out for 2 years now and I will be putting in my 2 week notice tomorrow. It's tough but I gotta do what I gotta do for my family. I've been on nights the whole 2 years that I've been with them and my mental health has been suffering.

I am working in amazon for 2 years, I've started my journey as team leader, later on i've passed panel for L4. From perspective my experience and also my friends I totally agree with statement that amazon it's not a good place for people who doesnt like changes. You can't get too attached to a department/process and people because in a week you might find out that you are on a different shift, department or process. Unfortunately, most managers get burnt out at the beginning by too much information, too many tools but above all by not knowing the process, which is sometimes complicated. My advice. At the beginning try to understand the process, observe a lot and don't get used to where you are haha. Everything is depending about in what site are u working at. Old site or young site? I've launched 2 sites and of course it gives great satisfaction but it is mega tiring. As for stepping into a new role, you need to be prepared for a large number of tools, which can be overwhelming at first. As an area manager there are lots of little things that take up a lot of your time and can sometimes be frustrating. Then there are the big things like introducing new processes and departments which are also very rewarding. I would compare working at amazon to riding a rollercoaster, there are moments when it is extremely hard and tough, there are moments when it is lighter and duller, but the end result is that the work gives great satisfaction and is addictive. You need to be flexible ;) Take care for all of you guys and dont give up!

I couldn't agree more with this! That was certainly a huge piece of advice that was given to me when coming in... information overload! Ultimately, my leaving wasn't due to the changing environment and the amount of info thrown at me. The opportunity to move into a career I saw myself being in for a long time was what drove the decision. I will 100% agree with all of what you said, and I would want any new manager at Amazon to hear this!

I left last December, after 5 years as L1 even though I have been advised by my leadership and management to go higher I refused as I find it hard to use Amazon strict rules towards my colleagues. I don’t have a stomach to punish the lads and the ladies that I worked with for many years. Good people but Amazon is a shit whole and they make you believe the world is build for Amazon. Once I left, I had 2 weeks of hangover because I done the job for 5 nearly 6 years it became a habit however I’m financially better and mentally better with out that place and the politics of Amazon.

  • @erasmopena1502

Currently on the edge of doing the same , I am so damn heated. I am FHD(Sunday-Thursday) and my building is going to switch to the 4 10s next week which technically would be Sunday-Wednesday which was what I was expecting. Then out of the blue they said hey starting the 4 10s you’re going to be now from Saturday-Tuesday. I never accepted it and let them know that it’s unfair bc at Amazon it’s only fair that you work one day of the weekend and one day off. Reason why I am pissed is because I have a second job/own business that is strictly saturdays and this just through me off for all my locked in dates a week before. It doesn’t make sense and I am the only one having to do this from my team and at this point I am being forced to work it. And honestly I feel played and lied to bc we encouraged AAs to vote for the 4 10s and they said nothing would change beside getting that extra day off and now boom you have no life working Saturday and Sunday bc of “Business needs”

I left scamazon after 3 months too. There was too much B.S. inflicted by them. I was picker and was constantly harassed about meeting the 300 picks per hour quota. I was subjected to too many problems including their constant denial of the problems. I got fed up with being threatened with termination. The pay wasn't worth all the B.S..

@@tigergreg8 picking is rough af. I just started and they offered me a PA manager position but I have to pick for the first 30 days and it’s such a drag…constant mechanical problems, overly stuffed bins that take up your time and effect your true pick rate, a lot of missing and damaged items but if you flag them too much the managers will come over to confirm them ( I don’t get in trouble but they make sure it’s not bad skips), lots of walking and lots of standing (my poor knees 😭) I also work 12hr AND 30min shifts which makes me feel like a zombie at the 7-8hr mark. I’ve thought about leaving but the manager that offered me the position told me to hang in there and that once I get out of picking it’ll be easier so just toughing it out at this point but this shit is not for everyone at all lol

@@sebastianschottenheimer561 Glad you figured it out, but this is why being quick to judge isn't a great quality. Smart people throw away good opportunities for better ones. He took a calculated risk and it paid off. More power to people who pursue their dreams. While his job at Amazon is one that many would covet, that is the wrong reason to continue working in it. Glad he knew it wasn't the right fit and did what was best for his future.
