where can i watch every episode of this one and the san francisco one? there was another really good one with some guy from Massachusetts
TAKE ME BACK TO THE 1990S!!! 2020 IS FUCKEN UGGGGHHHHHH!!! I MUST WARN THE PAST!!!
I just want to say, it's great hearing a heavy rock/metal soundtrack on a tv show
Liam Williams I loved how they used to play Alice In Chains' Angry Chair every time there was conflict in the house.
Man that album was brand new when this show came on. :/ But yeah nowadays there'd be loud obnoxious "hip hop" beats plastered everywhere, everyone would be on their phones constantly and the editing would be Michael Bay-style trash.
Welcome to 90s
@@tenchimasake They don't play real hip hop music on these shows, white boy
01:34 Did that pastor just recite Talking Heads during his sermon?? 😂🤘
Back when Reality Television was Reality
It wasn't reality then either, you seriously can't see that it's all staged?
Slow
@@prolibertate3499 Nah back then everything was raw and unedited !
this is nuts.. I'm watching on firestick, and some of the commercials out during this airing: Batman Returns, Eddie Murphy's Boomerang, Melrose Place was coming soon to Fox.. MAN! the good ol days 😫
These people are so cool, I could learn so much from them
Did that priest just quote the Talking Heads?!!! LMAO
Holy sh- i KNEW i recognised heather. She's on Sway in the morning. I couldn't work out where I'd seen her before!
I loved this season!!!! Good old days
When reality TV wasn't scripted. What the hell happen?!
Scene68 actually this season was heavily scripted and experimental..even some of the plot points were made up and acted out like Julie and her relationship with one of the guys ..its great and important for what it was tho esp being a 1st...
Scene68 dude, it WAS scripted.
It wasn't scripted, it was supposed to be, MTV couldn't afford to make scripted reality TV, do some research
I had friends who were in one episode that was aired in the last 10 years and I can tell you that the conflict in that episode was completely fake. The conflict was created by the show and my friends were often directed what to say next. They had to sign confidentiality agreements not blowing the whistle but I can tell you that it was not reality.
@Aiyaluna Yourke I can tell you for a fact that at least one conflict in one episode was completely fabricated by the show. I was friends with two brothers in the show and the mom in the show was threatening to kick one of the brothers out if he didn't make some changes. The other brother also sat across from him and lectured him while sitting on the couch and the TV show. I'm good friends with both brothers in the whole thing was fake. Nobody ever intended to kick this guy out of the house and there was no problem to begin with. Now there were a couple things in the show that really were true about him but that main conflict was just completely invented by the show.
Okay, I'm not scrolling through all of the comments..but I assume no one got the 'Talking Heads' reference. 'This ain't no party. This ain't no disco. This ain't no foolin arounddd.'
I got it, because I'm a middle-aged Gen-Xer.
1:29 this dude was showing out for the cameras 😂😂
She said “ do you sell drugs? Why do you have a beeper?” Wow. I had a beeper when I was 13 until 10th- 11th grade when I got my first gigantic cell phone (I was one of the first in my high school to have one)That’s funny that we would get judged for having a mode of communication.
A beeper, wow. Bring back memories.
Ahh when life was some kind of normal
For all the awful things this inspired in the years and decades to come, this was extremely intriguing TV for a teenager like me at the time, and frankly, it's pretty *real.* And innovative. Very interesting that they started with Julie in Birmingham.
Do kids today even know what a beeper is? I can't remember seeing one since 99.
We do
We got tracfones now
It’s amazing how the in the 1990’s shows that were youth oriented as well as a lot of commercials were shot on a Dutch Angle.
Anyone else curious about the pastor/preacher guy who quotes Talking Heads in his sermon?
Her father wants her to be a computer operator. lol dream came true
i am already scared and haven't watched it yet!
i am tripping so hard right now. this is fucking incredible. this is hell. I live in real hell.
Wish they would bring this back not the stupid exes and war one that's what the challenge was for
Alex Flores Exactly. Stopped watching as soon as they changed the format.
They'd all be on their phones
They could do this whole concept again but save a ton on production buy having seven strangers do a collective vlog together.
I remember watching this air. The very day 🤣🤣🤣
Before social media their was the real world. 😎💯
I was 22 yrs old and thought this was amazing.
Yes yes my loves I remember this when it aired. I was a nineties kid and this was unheard of. I loved it and its wild seeing it as a 36 year old now omfg
This was real. Real people. Now it's just a bunch of fake generic basic people with fake scripts. Go back to basics MTV!
Hazel Greene Back in the day, they could get away with everything being real because the market of reality tv wasnt oversaturated and the concept was so unique that they didn't need anything crazy to happen. I'm not defending what reality tv is today because i think its trash. But nobody is gonna watch normal people being normal anymore on television. I think vlogging has taken that spot.
It's entirely too scripted. When I was a teenager, I wanted to be on The Real World so bad.
Hazel Greene If MTV went back to basics there would no Real World. Just music.
