Hi Drewzilla, I'm torn between this and the Rev'it Tornado 2 jacket. I commute a lot in Australian heat so it can get to around 35c. Say the Tornado is a 10/10 in air flow, what would the Super rider be compared to that? Also, is their any other jacket that is good looking as the super rider (sporty, slim, and not too much colour) but has more air flow?
The Super Rider is about an 8 or 8.5 compared to the Tornado 2. Plus, the silver color option of the Tornado 2 won't absorb as much heat as the mostly black Super Rider color options. Nothing else is as sporty with as much ventilation though. -DrewZilla
My dainese jackets are size 46 and they fit me really well. No loose areas, but not tight or constricting any movement. Should I go down to size 44 for this or stay with 46? I prefer a jacket that really hugs my body without restricting anything.
Hey there, which one flows air better between the Super Rider and the Dinamica? Also, im planning on using it on Touring, could the bump be an issue for me or the passenger?

Hi guys at Revzilla, I wear a size 48 dainese leather jacket with chest and back protectors and now I’ve put on a little weight, it is a little tight when zipping up. Would you recommend a 48 in this jacket given that it stretches more than a leather jacket? Or would you say a 50 with chest and back protectors would be the better option? Thanks
Hey Revzilla, great review! Have a few questions: I usually ride with a backpack, I know the bump can get in the way, but just loosening up the straps on the backpack should make it more bearable, no? I currently sport a Laguna seca textile jacket size 46 european. It fits snug around the chest, but my arms are skinny so it feels a bit baggy down the arms. My question is, if the super rider is a bit slimmer, and will fit just as well around the chest, and tighter down the arms if I get in 46 too? Last but not least, compared to the laguna seca, is this one better in terms of ventilation/air flow and keeping the rider cool? Thank you for your attention, and looking forward to your response! Keep up the great work.
For a backpack, you can wear it farther down on your back. As for sizing, the Super Rider sleeves are a bit slimmer, but we recommend going down a size, so I recommend size 44. Further, yes, the ventilation is better than the Laguna Seca. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-super-rider-d-dry-jacket

in comparison between this jacket and Hydra flux d-dry, and my preferences for flexibility to use in summer (airflow factor) and or rain (waterproof factor), whats your suggestion..?
The Hydra Flux D-Dry offers slightly more airflow, but it isn't a huge difference. The Super Rider D-Dry offers leather for abrasion resistance and lots of stretch for comfort. Both have removable D-Dry waterproof liners. If you don't need the leather or stretch, then save your money by going for the Hydra Flux. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-hydra-flux-d-dry-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-super-rider-d-dry-jacket
I've read the Super Rider D-Dry's removable layer is lightly insulating, but I live in the North East where it can hit humid 90's F, or like today where it has been a dry 85 but will drop to 55. Additionally, when it rains it is kind of random and not necessarily much cooler, so it might rain when it is 80 out, just as easily as it could be 60. What I'm wondering is, could I use the Hydra Flux D-Dry which lacks insulation on its water proof layer, and appears to have even greater ventilation, or will I be substantially better off with the seemingly slightly warmer Super Rider D-Dry?
I like your plan of using the Hydra Flux D-Dry as a technical shell. For me, I prefer my jackets being armored and waterproof - insulation is nice, but it is also something that can be easily supplemented with your own layering. In other words, if it's humid and may rain, you're going to want as little insulation as you can get away with. If you're out on the bike all day and temps are going to hit the 50's in the evening, throw a lightweight puffy jacket in your bag and you'll be good to go. -TeamZilla Chris
Hello I checked the size chart on the product page and It was the perfect fit with the euro size 50 ( I am 70.1inch tall 80kilograms 40.2inch chest 23.6inch arm) But Hi-viz Brain is heavier wider than me and you tell me he wears size 50???? I already ordered my product did i ordered the wrong size on myself? or you mean he wears the Usa size 50 not euro size 50? Please answer me quick so i can change the order before it's too late thank you!
This jacket fits bigger than the size chart, because there is a lot of stretch fabric, so Hi-Viz Brian is between sizes. He could wear Euro 50 or 52. You could wear 48 or 50. -DrewZilla
Hi, I have the Dainese Hawker d dry but really want this one. I'm a 44 inch chest but have very broad shoulders, so need a 56 in the Hawker. Do you think the 54 in the super rider d dry would fit better please? Or should I order the 56 as per normal?? Thankyou!
The Super Rider D-Dry fits a little loose, plus it has stretch fabric, so I recommend size 54. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-super-rider-d-dry-jacket
So the liner doesn't attach to the jacket? So I will have to put the liner in first button it up and then put on the jacket? I like the jacket but I don't like the liner
The waterproof liner has its own zipper and rain flap, in order to keep the rain out. The liner is connected to the jacket with loops and snaps, so the jacket and liner stay together when you take off the jacket. This is pretty standard for mesh jackets with removable waterproof liners. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-super-rider-d-dry-jacket
Yes, you can wear the jacket in heavy rain, but understand that the waterproof layer is underneath the jacket, so the outer jacket will become wet. For temperature, you should be comfortable down to a minimum of about 15-16C. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-super-rider-d-dry-jacket
One more question, does that hump can protect the back even without back armor? I can't decide between this super rider d dry and racing d1 ? Thank you very much and love your reviews.
Would something like this work well on more of an upright ride? Looking at getting the new 16' Versys 1000 real soon. Want to get a "sport" jacket with the sport protection but not something race oriented. At the same time, I am not looking for a old man "dad jacket" for touring. The tornado 2 from revit looks nice but seems too relaxed.
If you don't mind the small speed hump on the back of the jacket, the stretch material on the Super Rider D-Dry allows the jacket to be comfortable in a wide range of riding positions, including the more upright position of the Versys 1000. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-super-rider-d-dry-jacket
sizing question....I wear a size 48 in a-stars leather jackets (with bionic back protector) and they fit me perfectly, can I expect the same fit from this dainese jacket?
This Super Rider D-Dry will provide much more freedom of movement, but 48 with a back protector should be appropriate. You could probably wear a 46 as well, but then it might be just a bit too snug. -DrewZilla
We don't have any matching mesh pants with track-style knee sliders, but the MIG Pants are the closest mesh pants that can be paired with this jacket. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-mig-pants
Strongly suggest you consider an RS Taichi jacket. They use better materials and the jackets already come with CE level 2 back armor included at this price point. Too bad RevZilla doesn't carry this brand, they should.
On the site the Black/Black/Fluro Red looks like a dark blue or grey and the black/white/red looks like actual black. What is it? I don't like how the jacket looks like in the video, the red isn't really red, but the picture on the site makes it look red. So what are the colors really?
The fluorescent lighting in the video studio makes the black appear blue-grey and makes the fluo red appear more orange. In reality, the colors are somewhere between how they appear in the video and how they appear on the site. The fluo red does have a bit of an orange tint, whereas the red in the Black/White/Red and White/Black/Red is a more traditional red hue. -DrewZilla

Hi Revzilla, I'm looking for a jacket for different weather conditions. Between 10-30 celsius degree. I can't afford to buy 2 different models for automn-spring and summer. And here is my question between this, dyno tex jacket and racing 3 which one would be the best? Visually i like this the one most but i doubt it can work in colder weather. I'm FZ1 Fazer rider.
To start, I'd avoid the Racing 3 D-Dry, as the fixed waterproof liner will make it too hot above above 23-25C. The Super Rider's waterproof liner is removable, and the mesh flows a lot of air, so it's great for warmer weather. From 10-20, though, you'd want to wear a thermal mid-layer underneath. Luckily with the amount of stretch, you can do that comfortably. If most of your riding is above 20C, then perhaps the Super Rider is best. I think the Dyno could be a good compromise if most of your riding is from 10-25C. With the thermal liner in, it's great down to 10C or even a bit lower. With the thermal liner out and the vents closed, it's good up to 21 or 22C. Then you can open the vents for good airflow up to 30C. It doesn't have all the mesh of the Super Rider, but it's still pretty good. For the rain, you would just use whatever packable moto rain shell you like. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-super-rider-d-dry-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-dyno-jacket
@@RevZilla Thank you very much for your answer. Where I live temperatures around 25-30 are usually only in july and august sometimes june but never whole month. Rest of the year is colder. After your answer i'm almost sure Dyno is what I need for now. Can you tell me which model of trausers should be the best for this jacket?
I really like the New Drake Airs. They have vents on the thighs that provide good airflow in the summer heat, but you can close them for cooler weather. For colder weather, you can wear thermal underwear underneath. They have a nice slim fit with some stretch (like the Dyno). -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-new-drake-air-textile-pants

-DrewZilla

Why would you ever ride without a back protector? 🤦🏽♂️
-DrewZilla
RevZilla Cheers 4the quick respond mate i will change it thanks
Would a Nucleon KR-2i back protector fit just fine in this jacket or would I be sacrificing some protection?
It fits just fine and you aren't giving up any protection. It's actually a popular option for Dainese jackets.
-DrewZilla

What is the competitor in Alpinestars brand ?
Anthony yo what’s up great videos: question.. I’m a 46/56 in leather, so should I get a 44/54 in this type jacket..I’ll be adding the back protector??
Yes, you probably will want to get size 54 in this jacket even with the back protector. -DrewZilla
-DrewZilla

Hello. Can I wear this jacket under heavy rain kind of weather and cold temp like 20 degree celcius and below ?
Yes, you can wear the jacket in heavy rain, but understand that the waterproof layer is underneath the jacket, so the outer jacket will become wet. For temperature, you should be comfortable down to a minimum of about 15-16C. -DrewZilla

One more question, does that hump can protect the back even without back armor? I can't decide between this super rider d dry and racing d1 ? Thank you very much and love your reviews.
No, the hump is not effective by itself. You really should use the back armor as well. -DrewZilla
-DrewZilla
*www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-super-rider-d-dry-jacket
sizing question....I wear a size 48 in a-stars leather jackets (with bionic back protector) and they fit me perfectly, can I expect the same fit from this dainese jacket?
This Super Rider D-Dry will provide much more freedom of movement, but 48 with a back protector should be appropriate. You could probably wear a 46 as well, but then it might be just a bit too snug. -DrewZilla
that is my dilemma...I like a tight fit (who doesn't) so leaning towards a 46.
Any matching mesh trousers with knee sliders you guys from RevZilla could suggest please?
We don't have any matching mesh pants with track-style knee sliders, but the MIG Pants are the closest mesh pants that can be paired with this jacket. -DrewZilla

Any word on availability? Mid-July was a few weeks ago and the Italians are all on vacation at this point....
Yes, with Italy on vacation, we expect mid-September availability. -DrewZilla

-DrewZilla
what about the black? In reality, does it have a dark blue-ish tint to them? Or is it black black... (On the black/black/fluo red)
Can a person wear an Ogio mach 3 with the super rider, or is the speed hump too big for it to be comfortable?
Yes, you can still wear a Mach 3 with the Super Rider, but it won't be as comfortable as with a non-hump jacket. -DrewZilla
Anthony, may i know what riding pants is the model using? Tnx in advance for the answer
New drake air pamts

Ima be that guy and ask the stupidest question here. Will this jacket alone(plus t shirt) keep me comfortably warm in southern california winter?
Probably not. I'd recommend wearing a lightly-insulated mid-layer along with the D-Dry liner in the jacket. -DrewZilla
@@RevZilla drewzilla , thanks. Otherwise you reccomend a real cold weather jacket, if so which one...
I'd recommend a waterproof non-mesh jacket with a removable thermal liner. If you like the look of this jacket, here are some great options. -DrewZilla

Hello rider✌️ can someone tell me what are the protection level on this jacket please? A,AA,AAA
There is no CE A/AA/AAA rating for this jacket. It came out before those standards existed so Dainese wasn't required to test for it.
How can i wash/clean this jacket? The jacket is mixed with leather and meshes.
The jacket uses washable leather, so you can remove the armor and hand wash the jacket with Nikwax Tech Wash or a similar technical detergent. There are cleaning instructions included on the jacket tags.

-DrewZilla

Thank you very much for your answer.
-DrewZilla

With this jacket i can use dorsale pro armor G2 ? Or just G1 ? Thx
The size of the Dainese Pro Armor depends more on the size of your jacket. As per the Pro Armor product description, "Choose G2 for Men's Jackets size 50 and up" and you would go with the G1 for everything else.
