Fabulous finds! Amazes me when wood is thrown away, our local DIY store put it all in a dumpster by the tills so customers can help themselves for a charity donation. My neighbour gets it and turns it into decorative signs.
Hello. I think what you do is great!! I have never commented before, but I am Vicki. I live in a very, very small and joyful community of less than 800 people. I am 25 minutes south of lake Michigan and 55 miles southeast of Chicago. I just watched a video from May and there was a couple breaking down and taking tons of boxes. It is very possible that they are part of a food pantry. They may pack up canned and boxed food to give to those in need. Who knows? Have a great day and be safe.

My house is filled with stuff I picked up from the sidewalk in Paris or bought from charity shops. They are nicer and last longer than the stuff I bought from a shop. I even found old doors and windows I've installed in my current house. They don't match but they give so much character to a newly built house.

The other basket that was slightly damaged could’ve been taken . You could’ve lined it with a pillow case , and glued either a little black board sign or decorative flowers over the damaged side ! It could have been a swap meet special !

Mama Bear's on the hunt for chairs. FYI, some stores, when they know that they are being dived, will start breaking items before tossing them, just like some food stores started pouring bleach into their dumpsters when they started showing groups on TV diving at their businesses. Part of this is due to liability issues, part because they don't want to lose sales. While you wouldn't have as much fun, if the store's would just agree to throw all that usable stuff in a tote and you could just come by and pick them up, there would probably be more stuff recycled than tossed.

I miss dumpster diving wit my bff, we'd go all nite lol with her van till dawn driving home dropping off stuff ect Then when it was light we'd notice WHY STUFF WAS TRASH lol then spend the next night dropping it back off till we got better at picking! Once we had a beautiful sofa brand NEW! Dragged it home only to realize it had FLEAS!!!

I love those 3 tiered shelf’s. I grab them when I find them at thrift stores. I use them for collectibles, in the freezer & refrigerator
