South Africa is a beautiful country with great weather, stunning mountains and awesome campgrounds. We live in Johannesburg, a large city in South Africa. It is always good to get out and experience what the country has to offer.
Join us on a 3,000km road-trip in December 2019 to experience some of the sights. This trip took us to Zonnenstrhal in Nieu Bethesda, Porcupine Rest Camp in Sewe Weeks Poort, my mom in Great Brak for Christmas, a chalet at Van Zyl’s Rus in Colesberg and ended at Somabula near Culinan for New Year. There had been some fresh rain and the country was nice and green

Hi Steve and Delwynne, I've enjoyed your series immensely. I'm a fellow Mahindaite and proud owner of a Mahindra Karoo s6 double cab 4x4 pikup. Your setup is really elegant. I'm doing something similar using the lad in for storage and using a Chobe 3mx3m heavy duty canvas dome tent which takes 10 minutes to pitch our camp. I am a professional water solutions engineer, musician (bluegrass and country) and 4x4 trainer. You certainly have taught me some things in the simplicity of your rig. Love your vids and will share mine soon! Best regards, Craig Martens

Hi Craig. Thanks for watching some of my videos and for your kind words. Ja, our setup evolved over a few years - starting with a huge tent on a trailer and now the simplistic one we currently use. We are very happy with it as it is now. I look forward to seeing yours once it is complete. As you will notice from my “Harsh Beauty” series, I retired at the end of last year. I am in the process of starting a media production company. Your occupations sound interesting - especially the musician part - I am a big country and western fan (the old stuff) and I enjoyed your two videos at Splashy Fen a lot. Anyway, thanks again for your kind words. I look forward to seeing your adventures.
