Playing trumpet like that is hard work!!...The trumpet is putting in the heavy lifting on this video...I know guys who have passed out playing this hard..They can Litterally blow their brains out ...
These guys set up in our neighbourhod club Zapata's 1982 and left us speechless- Cusson made so much sustain and reverb in that joint, a pared down McLaughlin Ray Gomez gtr vibe -Caron also a shock, MCd show in English, just barely, & laughing about it. The cat doing FOH shook that CBC Radio bldg to core; the equal of Scotia mix legend Scrapper Stevenson. Lovely guy, name cant recall. We did by then expect Quebec shows to have flair. Nothing like this though
How many people know this is where Mike Stern got his start when he played with Tiger Okoshi in Tiger's Baku In Boston at Pooh's Pub in Kenmore Square in1975.
Had the pleasure of playing Pooh's more than a few times. Stern was a fellow Berklee student and Tiger and Stanton Davis and the Ghetto Mysticism Band were my favorite doses of fusion back in the day.
@guitbibble Well, of course they weren't a household name but they were known worldwide among, as you say, Jazz, Fusion and Progressive Rock fans. One would probably not hear of them unless he/she is pretty deep into the scene but the fact of the matter is that whether you've been living in Armenia, Japan or Israel back then, you could easily find their music if you were looking for it.
Trompettiste de haut niveau et section rythmique à couper le souffle😅 Alain Caron est phénoménal comme toujours.
