What would've been cool would be if Nintendo and Capcom collaborated during the 6th generation and ported over 'Cannon Spike' to the Gamecube with Fox McCloud, Samus Aran, and Captain Falcon(yes, he carries weapons) as additional guest characters! Now THAT would've been interesting to see! I mean, they could try today if they really wanted to now even. But with more guest characters like Pit, Bayonetta, and Zero Suit Samus; maybe even a Pokemon character too just to mix things up a bit!
am i the only one who noticed the link between this game and metal gear solid 1 ? look like some ennemies/decorations are inspired from that konami game Stage 4 : Grey Fox Stage 6 : shadow mosses Stage 9 : Sniper wolf + psycho mantis Final Stage : the Metal gear
I learned from Stop Skeletons from Fighting that some N64 games were dual analog compatible, utilizing the incredibly insane method of plugging in P1 and P2 controllers. You mentioned Robotron, and Robotron 64 is one such game, apparently! Now I look at a game like this and think, "I wonder if this too has a hidden only-briefly-mentioned-in-the-manual twin stick mode?" Stupid SSFF has me thinking like a crazy person - even the arcade cab for Cannon Spike only has one stick per player. Still, if I owned a copy of this, I admit I would've given that kind of nonsense a shot :P But man, even the reproductions for Dreamcast games are pretty pricey these days - it's rare to see/nab one for less than $50-60 now when two or three years ago, they'd have been $20-30. Bumping up retro games to the price of full, modern, retail games has been rampant across all systems these past 2-3 years, actually. Retro collectors are getting greedy, man... Oh and BTW, you might wanna look into upgrading your DC controller. Look up the StrikerDC pad sometime - I got one last year along with a Kaico HDMI converter and I was so happy to drag my DC kicking and screaming into the modern era instantly :D
I agree prices are getting nuts. My kiddo is getting into retro collecting and some games are steep! I don’t think I’d mind the game being single stick if the lock on were more reliable. I’ll check that controller out soon. Thanks for the recommendation. I think when the DC was new I played most games except for PSO and Crazy Taxi with the arcade stick.
I'm surprised that I haven't heard of this game before. Looks like something that I would enjoy, but I don't think I've ever played a game that was worth $250 (not counting games with peripherals, like Steel Battalion).
I had Steel Battalion! I sold it after a few months, but it was just amazing such a thing was even made. CS is good but it lacks that Capcom charm other than the mascots being in it. Really short on replay. Now Gun Bird 2 and GigaWing... those are some awesome games. :)
Dual Analog--a bridge too far for Sega... :) I think I have to agree with you. They were always so innovative, except the DC controller which was a step back imho due to its ergonomics, lack of 3x3 traditional 6-btn layout ,and inferior d-pad compared to their prior controllers. Sega recently teamed up with Retro-bit and had announced in 2018 Gamescon that they would release dual analog sticks based on the saturn and genesis controllers. They have released several replica controllers for the the Saturn and Genesis but have yet to announce anything in the way of dual analog for any Sega themed controller. I emailed them several months back asking if/when they had any word on them but they did not respond. Apparently making replica game cartridges seems to be their main focus as of late and I'm starting to lose hope they will deliver a dual analog sega pad anytime soon.
I'm willing to shell out $ for games that are rare and exceptionally good. Especially if they have high replay value/I can squeeze out a lot of hours. Thankfully I haven't bought too many rare duds over the years. This seems like a cool lil game, but thanks for your review. I'm gonna pass on it.
I had the same feeling until I borrowed my friend's Cannon Spike game and played it. After borrowing it and playing it, I had to have it. Thankfully I was able to get it for my collection. I found it on eBay for $89 bucks, it was well worth every penny I paid and then some. It's defiantly worth having.
I was shocked when I looked up the prices of dreamcast games. Games are going for more than their msrp. Either buy a console and pirate your games or use an emulator. Building a full set will most definitely make you go bankrupt.
Casually returns like he wasn't gone for awhile 🤣
I was in one of those Kryptonian not quite dead comas. It was rough; woke up with a mullet. :)

Damn hippies with their flower power and dual analog controllers ...
I know right! 🤣

I would have loved to see those controllers! Yeah I think the v2 Saturn pads are my favorites.

Leonard Nimoy was not the voice of Seaman...
He was in the English version.
@@toysuniverseandeverything He was most certainly not.
@@hoobaguy apologies; he was the narrator. It’s been 20 years since I’ve played it.

I’m very glad I’ve had my collection since childhood/college. I couldn’t imagine starting now. I’m looking at the Satiater for the Saturn.
