I'm so glad Warrior Elimination actually came up. I'm team gage, but I can't pretend that if the tables were turned I wouldn't be pogging like heck. It was a cool and funny way to close out the game
If I might ask, why are people team Gage beyond "he's the underdog"? He's so much less likeable than Alex, especially when he's winning.

@@InsolentCrow plus Cimonis totally the underdog. Gage pulled way better than cimonin season 1. 2 ced that won him the game whenever he resolved it, all the dragon Rulers, DAD, all the signer dragons, his subterror package

Seeing MBT walk away for several minutes and then come back to see Cimo still explaining how monarchs work is classic.
this episode was hilarious. Gage has played Cimo too many times and now, even by luck, Cimo is metagaming him so hard.

While the theatrical bias against Cimo is getting a bit much, that reaction to Warrior Elimination was priceless. Also Gage using Duster is hype only for MBT to mald when Cimo does too xD

I can respect Cimo's justification for siding Warrior Elimination this duel. I can also understand Gage getting help from the community without considering it cheating since Cimo is much better then him so it's a fair handicap.

To be fair, we have no idea whether or not Cimo gets outside help for his own decks. Gage just makes it public
This was a BAD matchup for Gage. Cimooo's high defense point monsters were just not something Gage's deck could handle.
More along the lines of said monsters have too low an attack stat for big city to do anything

I think if Cimo gets Raiza on the wheel next week, we may see him attempt something similar to Perfect Circle Monarch which could be very interesting.
There's something jankier but funnier: Magical Monarchs. Using Magical Apprentice as a tribute engine with MoF, Old Vindictive, and Crystal Seer while also using it to access Magical Scientist. Then, all you need is a tuner, through drawing rota or last will, to summon Dark Strike Fighter with a fusion to then feed more fusions to DSF to OTK.
How does the wheel even work for gold rares
@@sanchobanana3507 I’ve been wondering the same thing. I’m guessing Cimo had a conversation with Gage about that when they decided to do Gold Series in this second season and he’ll explain it to us if he spins a Wild Card on the wheel.
Warrior Elimination is why MBT thinks Cimo is a good YGO player.

Immortal Bushi seems cool on the surface but it does literally nothing unless you get Card of Safe Return online. And you don't really want to draw them either.

Loved how joseph pogged over the painful + bushi strat when the painful + good goblin strat never worked in the previous decks (draw the one off) and everytime gage drew GGH it sucked.

On another note, now that Cimo has more Monarchs to play maybe he could finally run a Monarch variant that would let him use Dark Strike Fighter and Magical Scientist to OTK.
As I talked with another commenter in the prog video Magical Apprentice can float and be decent tribute fodder. MoF, Old Vindictive and Crystal Seer are nice options to have on the engine, but Magical Scientist can also be summoned by Apprentice.
While you can always use Scientist's fusions for offense with TER Ryu-Senshi and co, or as tributes or synchro fodder, they also can facilitate Dark Strike Fighter.
If the facedown Scientist float survives until his turn, all Cimo needs is a tuner. RoTA can search Junk Synchron, that can revive Apprentice or the other spellcasters to go into Android or Armory Arm in a pinch, but if Scientist is on field can then make DSF with any LV4 fusion while also allowing DSF to reach exact lethal. Five LV6 fusions + DSF + Scientist and an Apprentice equals 8k damage. And Last Will can also cheat out Scientist or the tuner by tributing a Monarch. Also Apprentice's floats protect your life total since they summon in facedown def
Basically DSF replaces Catapult Turtle, you get the right pieces you can access a clear OTK while not devoting to a sole game plan. Magical Monarchs or Monarch Synchro might be janky, but boy do I want to see Cimo exploit Scientist and DSF as well as MBT's and Gage's reaction to this bullshit OTK.
I find it pretty amusing how Joseph and his viewers detest Alex for playing bullshit unfun decks whilst ignoring Gage playing Mausoleum Vanity's stun(with last turn, even though it didn't come up) to prompt the bullshit in response from Alex.
It's fun winning when it's your side. No need to debatelord about being morally consistent 💀

I mean Cimo is a better duelist than to resort to playing that kinda stuff, Gage on the other hand sometimes needs to resort to playing those dirty decks.
Joe doesn't detest Alex. They're quite good friends; that's why they do two weekly series together. He just plays up the Cimo hate for the prog memes.
I absolutely love when MBT ups the playback speed on prog because it sounds like a Ben Shapiro mirror match.

this hero build makes 0 sense, it is like a fusion between little city and big city whitout having a clear objective. big city was the deck with skyscraper 2 and recycle the stratos the ocean to destroy the backrow, and filled with monster removal. little city involved being full aggressive with big beaters and skill drain abusing.
both decks are supposed to play at least a 15+ traps line up.
gage's deck instead is... idk has no removal no engine, nothing and he cant beat over a dd warrior lady which is hilarious

Gage should probably avoid E-Hero for a while. The deck struggles to clear anything with 2000 DEF or Jujitsu Master. Surely it'd be better if Gage was back on the tribute deck from CSOC or the burn strat from last week.

Don’t they have Junk Synchron from the Yusei pack? I feel like Gage should have played that at the very least since it is a warrior-type tuner. All those level 4 heroes could have been Black Rose in a bind. Sure the Black Rose turns off the Bushi resurrection, but that didn’t end up being helpful anyway?
I'm sorry but, I think this episode, Gage just didn't have a good deck. Bushi is cute, but has practically no payoff
Tbh, I think this deck might have been better with a tribute or 2. And I don't mean Monarchs, like actual Warrior tributes such as Freed or Turret Warrior that combos with Bushi. Hell he could even run something like Neos.

Both of them are stuck in 2004 Yu-Gi-Oh when they're in 2009 sets. They're starting to regress again.

Bushi was simply another revival in line with Skyscraper 2's eff to have an endless conga line of assholes reviving from gy to then draw "all gas" through Safe Return. He was light on monster removal imo.

I think Bushi and Card of Safe Return would work with Dark Dust Spirit alongside Treeborn Frog or something like that, what was the point of them in this deck?
Yeah I'm so so confused why the deck lacked a tribute payoff. Not even 1 Caius or some other staple playable big buy. The other option would have been something like Raigeki Break to get Bushi out of hand and to clear more guys. But opted for greed and offerings instead.

You can only summon one Bushi, it was just another revival monster in line with Skyscraper 2's strat of always having dudes on field and then drawing lots through Safe Return. Gage was very light on monster removal to make better use of the endless conga line of assholes his deck could have facilitated.

Being on Team Cimoooo is so good, seeing quality malding from MBT and his twitch chat/commenters. Not even when Gage practically gets decks made for him by other people, despite being a professional player and thus a (hopefully) decent deckbuilder, can he win. Folks, it's good to root for an underdog, but when your underdog is someone like Gage, I don't see how you can root for him other than what... misplaced pity for last season?
Meh, though I do suppose that it doesn't really matter and that Joseph is just leaning on the reactions, based on his opening statement in the first like, minute or two where he acknowledges it in a tongue-and-cheek way, but eh *shrug*
If you want to root for the underdog, just watch sealed showdown and back Robert, at least he's making his own decks.

Honestly, gages deck was terrible. Its a little city beatdown deck that cut the beating part for a bushi engine that is bad even by prog gx standards. Like its whole gimmick is to dump bushi with painful choice and continuously draw cards with card of safe return while giving you a useless body every turn. Painful has 0 synergy with the deck outside of dumping bushi but even then you have no benefit of having multiple bushis in grave. Also, the advantage part of the combo works only when you are losing couse bushi can only revive when the board is empty meaning you can only trigger card of safe return (an unsearchable one off might i add) when you are behind. The deck has way too little monsters to keep the pressure and quickly loses steam which shouldn't be the case with a deck like that, its strictly a worse version of the deck he played a few weeks back. Also i dont know why they are both forcing oppression in their decks when the only real special summons they have access to are chaos monsters and dad, like its been the worst card in their decks for weeks now and should be kept in the side at least until blackwings come out and we get some real special summons in the format.
I'll end this rant with a positive note, i really liked 3 reckless 3 offerings to the doomed in gages deck and would like to see more experimentation with them in the future

Even tho I teamcimo, its really hard to hide the fact, that Cimo won like 70%+ of his matches by either an unwinable matchup for gage, like this, or top decking perfect cards for several turns.

Mbt did say, that Cimo can play like a baboon, but sometimes, he makes so 5 head plays that shows, how good of a player Cimo really is. Sadly Cimo usually doesnt need these, because of his absurd luck.

At least this time he had a decent justification, if Gaga did play Six Sam that would've been a huge pain. Unlike siding Des Wombat to deal with a single card in a deck that could've easily dealt with it.
Des Wombat was litterally in the side deck of every deck for YEARS, and until cards like System Down, Shadow/Light Imprisoning Mirror get usefull, Des Wombat will stay in Cimos Sidedeck to have a chance against the inevitable burn curveball
