It is so awesome that you provide these songs for free on your website. Especially for younger bluegrass guitarists who want to get into the genre more and more. I am 16 and I love this music and its great to have this provided for me, your website is a great place to help learn mandolin and guitar breakdowns. Thanks, God Bless you.

This is a great breakdown of a great performance. Billy knows his stuff, he's pulling a lot from Doc's performances of this tune, especially that harmonic section.

Sure enough, he just mentioned the Doc and Dawg album at Newport. There's a video that's been posted in the last few days that I just saw.

Wow, this is a fantastic way to learn, thank you so much! The Billy Strings & Marcus King cover of this song is absolutely stunning. I’m not embarrassed to admit their playing makes me misty-eyed, it’s just so beautiful, each musician in his own way.

Thanks Marcel! Old man, starting new adventure--Bluegrass Guitar! I really enjoy your site, and teaching skills. I look forward to learning from your course. Played at playing guitar in the 1950s, but gave it up for--well, let's just leave it at that for now. LOL

Bruce Cockburn uses that harmonic pentatonic scale in his song, Gavin's Woodpile, from the album, In The Falling Dark.

@@345kobi I believe so. You have to donate minimum $0.00, basically it's free but the website requires you to go through that step, then it should be available to do whatever you want

Learning and applying that diagonal pentatonic shape unlocked the world of improvising for me. Personally, a great first stepping stone.

Are the tabs printable? Could easily be that my lack of computer savvy made the obvious not obvious.

So I'll date myself here but my fondest memory of this song was done by Janis Joplin back in 1969. Although not specifically, guitar-centric.....She sang an outstanding performance of this classic song.

Don't mean to complain. I know your a great teacher just curious why you don't just play the who song through with the rhythm parts from a frontal view where you can see left and right hand fully. The most amazing thing about youtube is the ability to slow it down. This way sort of omits the most powerful attribute of this technology. I believe that this also causes people to watch hundreds of times greatly boosting your numbers. Not meaning to criticize, but if it's just played all the way through visible to the camera it would be a great addition to talking about it. Learn the song then figure out the theory is more fun too.
