    what do you guys think of this video?! LMK!

  • @FishinmattRyann
    @FishinmattRyann 6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    Ok, so you probably already know how to do this, but another mini jig technique to incorporate is the “flutter finger retrieve”… All you have to do is cast, then point your right index finger straight out over the top of your spinning reel so the line slaps against your finger as you’re reeling it in. The benefit is that you can give the jig a faster retrieve and prevent any slack in the line. When you do this you give the jig a really cool “flutter,” bounce and vibration, provoking a strike! This also works really well with other trout lures (kastmasters, roostertails, Thomas bouyants, phoebes etc.) RODNEY give this a try and if it works give me a shout out! Love your videos… Tight lines!

    There are only a few people that actually teach and share their secrets like you. Most guys on here try not to even show their jig.... that's why you're so popular! We watch to learn...not just watch some guy reel in trout...Thanks again.

    Great video Rodney. I have been using this method for about five years and have been very successful. My best day at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood, AZ. is 55 trout in about 5 hrs.
    I believe that jig you had (if it was the original jig) weighed in at `1/64 oz. instead of 1/32.

    Great info. I've used mini-jigs before but have never had any luck. Maybe one of the best bits of advice was the insert of "two hours later"... let's me know I might be giving up too quick. :) I have been letting it hit the bottom though so will not do it next time.

    Wish I would have watched this sooner, skunked bad today. Figured pink mice tails would do but i had them on a Carolina rig sitting there(saw from another TH-camr, that's how they caught some last year at the lake I went to). I also only slow retrieved and didn't pop the rod tip to get better action from the mini jig. Looks like I have most of the right stuff except I have a light ugly stik rod n reel with 8lbs test and used a swivel and 4lbs mono leader. I'll try going down to 2lbs maybe 4lbs test since I my rod is not an ultra light rod. Trout are a pita to catch 😂
