I enjoyed the lecture immensly. Many thanks and appreciation to the speaker. I had read the book in Polish first some 30 years before not knowing anything about the author and reread it recently with great pleasure. I came across this lecture while searching for some information. In the area of Poland where I live now as a retired person we have an informal Kristina Lavransdaughter fan-club. In spite of the time and place differences, the problems, circumstances and even climate difficulties described in the trilogy seem so close to us. They are simply universal.
