    12:32 what do you mean that the price of I-bond will be changed when intrest rates change (if hold for 2 years). No matter how long are you going to keep your I-bond you always receive principal value. Of course if you hold less than 5 years, they will take 3mo of intrests, but they price will not move. What did you mean?

    • @richardk7
      @richardk7 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I believe he got the two mixed up. I Bond price or principal will never change so you'll always get your principal + interest + 3-month interest early withdrawal fees. But 2-year treasury price would be affected by increasing rates.

    If you expect rates to reverse course end 2023, Would buying a long term bond to lock that high interest rate a good idea? Also as the the fed cuts rate the value of the bond goes up from a liquidity perspective.

    The whole theory of money is basically built around investing and saving but I’ll rather have the formal in play than the later simply because of it’s ability to yield more interest in growth than the nickels the banks gives as interest for saving.

    Trade and investments work hand in hand essentially because they both intercede each other to produce wealth or riches. More the reason why it should be ran professionally to avoid consecutive losses and achieve the named goal.

    I bought a $10,000 ibond when it was at 9.62%. That will probably be the only one I buy but I did it so I knew for an absolute fact I would have a lot more money when I am 70. Sure, my roth IRA will have done well but worst comes to worst, that ibond is 100% guaranteed so I like that peace of mind.

    Investing is a time-tested way of putting your money to work for you, as you work to earn more of it. Legendary investor Warren Buffett defined investing as “forgoing consumption now in order to have the ability to consume more at a later date.*

      ... right, by investing your money regularly, you may be able to increase it many times over with time. That's why it's important to begin investing as early as possible and as soon as you have some money saved for that purpose. Furthermore, the stock market is a good place to start.✌

      @UCb037IjOH_5uguxCTKsb1bg Right, I've been in touch with a notable financial analyst “ANGELA NADYA JONES ” with great track records since the economic meltdown, these days it's easy to buy into trending stocks but the task is determining when to buy and sell**
      I've been able to scale from $50,000 to $100,000 since April because my FA figured out defensive strategies to protect my portfolio and profit from this roller coaster market👆

    Jimmy, it would be good to hear your take on these sucker rallies we’re seeing in the markets from time to time? Presumably institutional investors have systems and data (i.e order flows) retail investors don’t, and in the absence of a bull market they seem to be instigating mini pump and dumps?

  • @red149
    @red149 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jimmy what you never talk about is the macro landscape and the fact that we are at the end of a long debt cycle . Most of the strategies that have been valid in the last 100 years won’t hold when money itself dies !

    And if the stock market doesn't recover for a long time? And if it doesn't recover for whatever reason? I always cite Japans NIKKEI here, it still hasn't recovered after 30 years. If you dollar cost averaged - you made money! If you lump summed - you can only count on winning back some losses with dividends.

      Japan's bubble was insane in the 90's. Tokyo's real estate was over $100,000 per square ft (!!!). PE ratio of Nikkei was over 60 at the time (current S&P 500 PE ratio is 17-18).

    Another great video. I agree. Doesn't make sense to buy bonds at this point. Especially if you already have bond funds/etfs in your portfolio that's down 30%. Hard lesson learned: these funds/etfs didn't really give you the level of 'safety' you thought you would have during market downturn. So you can't redploy these funds to stocks at this time for example. With whatever cash you have left, better off betting on beaten down stocks.

  • @krakhour2

    its such a small amount of money that for most people it is worthless. At 10 k your talking less than a grand. That isnt even a full paycheck for a wal mart worker much less a fix for a retirement portfolio

    • @kevinbailey3239
      @kevinbailey3239 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's risk free and potentially a better alternative than a regular savings account. I don't put my money in I-bonds thinking it's better than stocks. I put what would be safety cash in a saving account or CD there for a better return.

    Don't get me wrong, I know the economy is in shambles and in order to break even and make profit, we have to ride it out until stock recovery, but how are some folks in the same stock market as me still able to pull off substantial profits of as much as 650K within months, what am I doing wrong?

    • @sarahshawnalynn7049
      @sarahshawnalynn7049 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    My understanding is inflation is bad for bonds. So I really like the look of bonds right now (greedy when others are fearful). Some bonds I've been looking at give about 5% interest pa with an 8-10% on maturity 👍
