possibly stainless steel screws as well are the way to go I thought you were using silicone so the screws don't leave a rust track down the mesh from moisture , however the reason you gave was something else
So much easier with the bumper off... I used these small metal bendable clips that u can sikaflexed on and bend em into place of the mesh so it folds over through the holes
@@Arouth249 I just did this job. I agree not to use those large screws. I mixed up some body filler and applied it at strategic points around the grille area, then inserted small metal tags I made from aluminium. When the filler sets its really strong, and then I applied the mesh and bent over the tags to hold it in place.

1) didn't bend it right
2) should have used automotive goop
3) should not have used screws
What is your suggestion? I'm curious to learn the correct way to do this.
