I am starting my 35th first week of school. If I can share one tidbit of advice. Either come in early and leave on time or the opposite. You are not doing yourself any good or you kids for that matter. It took me 33 years to realize this. Also stop and have your lunch. It actually makes your afternoon go smoother. It took me 33 years to realize this also. Like they say on airplane flights stop and put on your oxygen mask first so that you are better able to help others.

Your non-English speaker will pick up so quickly! My school has a large ESOL population. They are my favorite to teacher because they grow so much!! He will surprise you and make you so proud by the end of the year.
