Nah, he never shows up for offline events, which are the big ones that matter. Imagine if the NBA awarded championships based on All-star game results. That's what crowning MaxPax the #1 toss sounds like. He's good but we need to see him on stage, which he doesn't care about, so he's not as serious as the top, top players like Maru, Serral, Clem.
On killing opponent workers at mid to late game. Protoss - 20 Probes killed. Advantages : Chrono Boost for faster refill. Disadvantages : far from each base, no vision on disconnected area. Recall on global cooldown, can't really utilizes the cost for smaller engagement. Highest mining rate drop for longest time. - Zerg - 20 Drones killed. Advantages : lavas on each hatch, one cycle to refill all. Creep have map vision for transfer safety. Disadvantages : interrupt the lava cycle for other units. A mid range mining rate drop. - Terran - 20 SCVs killed. Advantages : Mules to keep the mining rate up. Mules anywhere without transfer time and safety issue. They take up supplies, better to trade them with opponent units, and crush them later with higher army count. Spend upfront cost on CC for mules/scan and trade lower workers cost for opponent higher unit cost. Disadvantages : take longest time to refill SCV.
Love the commentary, Wardi! Respectfully, however, trading tons of army away for a couple of drones is a big fat L for protoss. It takes them TONS of time to build ANY army supply compared to Zerg just replacing all drones lost with one round of injects. MaxPax threw away all of his adepts for 3 drones and a handful of lings. That absolutely sucks for toss and he shouldn't have committed to the shade!
Agreed. Toss should trade adepts for SCVs, but against Zerg, Toss really has to rely on army quality vs quantity and try and trade as positive as possible, retaining a high supply so Z's pushes can't take structures. (Also need to retain resources to warp in stalkers or zealots vs Nydus worm)
