I love acetate cards. I bought a Synergy Makar Rookie/299 for $40. Sweet Card! I love those metal cards also. I just get sick of always seeing cardboard. It's like"Wow cardboard, how original."
I agree if it were cheaper it probably be one of my fav product. With most products trending toward big hits id rather a bunch of cool stuff for a cheaper price. Inserts were our patch autos in the day.. and for even older people star base cards were hits lol

Looks like quality control wasn't on UD's priority list, so many corners were bent/damaged. But at least you pulled the Seider, no bent corners there lol. As always, thank you for the great content Zeeree!
Great video, rolled up to your best pals today and found some unannounced 21-22 skybox blaster boxes on the shelf, not sure if you are planning on opening any but I grabbed two boxes and both were actually solid, has a kind of low ceiling but a high floor
I like Synergy alot. The cards have cool designs and they are relatively cheap to pick up on ebay or other secondary markets. I don't think I would ever buy a hobby box of it tho. Atleast every card you get in each pack is different instead of just plain old boring base cards and an insert lime numerous other packs.

I dunno, I'm weird but I like Synergy....helps that I hit a McAvoy RC /8 in the first release...but I still think there's some eye appeal to a lot of the cards compared to countless dull Artifacts parallels.
Synergy has to be one of the best examples of how cost could change the perception of a product. I would be totally fine paying maybe $50-$60 USD for Synergy, but paying the same amount as I would for Series 1, 2 or Extended is ridiculous. Like even in your videos of UD's cheaper offerings you usually pull something kind of appealing even if it's not a big money hit but Synergy just radiates this energy of a cheap, lesser product and yet they charge $100 for a box of it.
I get that I’m in the minority, but I actually like the uniqueness of the “gimmicky” cards. I don’t have the luxury of opening 26 boxes of SP Authentic, so the acetate hybrid cards are actually pretty cool to me.
Always liked Synergy, yeah its gimmicky but its also different and tries to be fun. That being said, the price is insane on it. Can usually pick up all of what I want from the set for pennies on the dollar from ebay.

You should do a video on the error cards no one is talking about. The 21-22 UD SP Game Used embroidered in history has a mix up. They have the wrong nick name patches for Ed Belfour and Mark Messier, they should be reversed. Messier is the moose and Belfour is the eagle.
The only decent year of synergy was the first year it came out. Albeit, I did pull a Purple Patrick Roy, True Base Alex Tuch and a Cast of Greatness of Sebastian Aho
Every card in that box should just be a flagship insert. I guess there’s something for everyone out there, and that product is just not for me. I’ll keep waiting for ‘21-22 Platinum and ‘22-23 OPC . . .

Upper Deck doesn't get to decide what the "base" card is. The base card is whatever card is most produced. If a parallel exceeds the 'base' in number, then the parallel is the base card. And why any of us go along with this nonsense is beyond me.
Synergy doesn't have an identity. It's reminds me of opc platinum, sp game used, ud ice, with artifacts bounty and fleer showcase inserts all thrown into one but does nothing good. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

I opened one box of synergy a few years ago and it was terrible.
The only positive is there is a numbered card in each pack this set but that's it.

This didn't replace Fleer Showcase, it clearly replaced the Skybox E-X series.
