Here is part 1 of the 23/24 UD MVP Hockey Card hobby case. I open 4 boxes in hopes of pulling a Connor Bedard rookie card worth $1400.

Spa will be a long wait, we just got 21-22 a couple months ago and still need 22-23 so god knows when 23-24 will be. Hopefully he will be live when it comes out and not a redemption

I dont understand why the pictures arent updated from after last year trade deadline. O'Reilly with the Blues instead of the Leafs, Quick still with LA, Kapanen with the Penguins. Its a 2023-24 product, it should reflect the changes that happened during the season at the very least.
Because Upper Deck. We had a 16/17 Rantanen photo in last years and do you think their quality control gives a shit?

Both MVP redemptions I pulled in the past were Central Division ones.
This definitely does not suffice. OPC is by and large a far superior product in value.
Keep this format for the rest of the case it's perfect !!

But, you must agree then that this is more the overpriced era than the junk wax era, though I also get what you're saying, as the products from 2021-2023 have been watered down heavily as well and all these flashy inserts are filler used to make more product...it's a sad time period for the hobby, even with Bedard on the horizon. I've been collecting since the mid 80's, and honestly my favorite year for collecting and for products was 2001-2002. UD had amazing products with awesome, thought out designs and you had Pacific and Topps still and autos and memorabilia were still fresh and exciting ..those were the glory days of the hobby, for myself anyhow.
What do you do with all the base cards?
Also I have yet to find a Caufield Young Guns. Still in search if you come across one you'd be looking to part with.

2 PP GruGru pulls = a successful box pull! I didn't see one pulled in the first box but the second PP Pull in the third box was swiftly shuffled by at 12:32

That's a whole lot of base. U should look into ud epack during the Bedard year. U can convert base cards into foils and 🌈.

Not really, a card like Ovi’s MVP RC is now only $50. It’s such a low end product that most collectors don’t care about this or bypass it completely

I pulled both the base and gold #1 draft pick (BEDARD) within a couple days apart
What do you use to determine how much a card is worth?
The Central Division Redemption is the tougher pull. The odds of getting it are effectively 1:1600, (4 divisions x 1:400) while the #1 pick is 1:1250. You want the Central Division Redemption.
There's a card shop on grimsby that just hit the #1 draft pick the other day

I wonder how much the Bedard will drop in price from the time you send the redemption in to the time you get it back.
A lot. UD is just gouging at this point. MVP is supposed to be an affordable product for kids, their greed has priced them out of the hobby. Once series 2 comes out, MVP will be junk as always. It's sad, but it's the hobby we live in now. Social media breakers will continue to ruin the hobby as long as they spend dumbass prices on a product meant for kids. At least zeeree is honest by showing the price of McDavid MVP products, to give you an idea of what the MVP product is supposed to be.

Glad they changed up the MVP design significantly this year. 19-20 to 22-23 look way too alike. I skipped 22-23 because of that.

Am I missing something? $1500 plus tax for maybe $200 of crap back, plus a 1 in 3 chance to breakeven with a Bedard redemption (price for that will fall anyways). Mvps such terrible value unless you’re a parent buying it for your young kid

Why would I spend all the money on this product? Would be better spending all that money on lottery tickets. Why? Because at least if there are winners cash is the return.
