Great vid! Best stretch of the little Miami too, looked like an awesome ride. Armleder is a pretty popular spot so wasn’t surprised that you got crashed, though seemed pretty awkward lol
Now those people that was completely unexpected they come in and crash your camp for fishing they could have at least had the decency to walk away but that's how Puerto Ricans usually are they don't care
@@jasonwish- Much respect to you for appreciating the place being public, while those strangers lacked any respect at all. I'm still amazed sometimes at how little decency some have.
Hi Jason…. I just found your channel. I live in Florida and have a farm in the mountains of South Carolina but I grew up on the Little Miami River in Milford and watching you videos brought back many memories and emotions! I’ve fished the Little Miami River in Milford my entire childhood and as a young adult! I love you content and positive outlook on things and your appreciation for the great outdoors. So glad you made it out of that predicament! Thank You for sharing!
Hey James, a SC mountain farm sounds amazing! My wife and I love the Carolinas, especially NC mountain towns. Glad my video was able to bring back some of those past memories! Thanks for checking out my channel and for the great comment!
It's so fun and relaxing and nice to be up off the ground. The only problem is that spiders and slugs crawl all over everything that is left on the ground.
@@mporba I've just never purchased one because its just one more piece of gear that I would never use while ultralight backpacking but I suppose if I keep kayak camping it may be a good investment.
Man Jason, I can only imagine the feeling you had when the rain and river kept coming. I haven't had it come that fast but I have had it raise on me. Glad you're okay friend.
That was a great video! Awesome adventure. It is terrible when people are so selfish and disrespectful like those guys were…glad you didn’t let it ruin the trip.
Wow that was crazy. Great video Jason. Your videos get better and better. Can’t wait till next one. The wife can’t believe how you set up your shots and how many times you move your camera.
It was so exciting! Definitely not what I had planned on or expected but glad I was able to experience it! Heading north this weekend to hit the second fastest, free flowing river in the lower peninsula of Michigan!
HELL YEAH MAN! Love it! Cooked up some sweet corn over the fire, thinking of you and The Colonel, on a camping trip out at East Fork Lake, east fork being the east fork of the LMR. What a finish!
Jason - Holy Crap!!! What an epic trip!!! Everything from great camping sites, Kings Island giving you a fireworks show for your thru paddle (LOL), to an invasion of spanish speaking people (I think it was because you had some killer looking fajitas), to 25ft trees passing you by. I'm glad things worked out and you stayed safe. Made for some great footage! Thanks for sharing!!!! -dave
Just found your videos a couple of weeks ago after an outing on the Little Miami with my sibs; very interesting and enjoyable! Thanks for making these. I have kayaked on the LM many times over multiple sections but there is a lot of it that I haven’t been on. You have inspired my son and I to plan to kayak the entire river now. BTW - since you blew through the southern part of the river due to the flash flood, I think you need to re-do that part under more normal flow rates so that you can get a better experience of that part of the Little Miami.
It was a fun thru paddle. I definitely will redo the southern part again someday, but I enjoyed the upper part the best because I like small rivers with lots of twists and turns. My favorite is the Little Manistee in Michigan. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it!
Loved the finale bud! I’m glad it worked out that even with the high water you not only still got out there but made some killer time! That was definitely interesting how those folks came up and fished literally right on top of you. I’ve not been on the water this year as much as I would have liked so it’s been awesome getting to watch your adventures out there. Thanks as always for sharing.
I appreciate you watching all my adventures AJ! Definitely some great memories from that trip glad I got to experience everything that happened even though some of it wasn’t what I had planned but that always makes for some good footage 😁
You are an inspiration brother! Wish we had better kayak camping rivers here in Nebraska. We do, but the drought we have been having has really made it difficult to float… sorry you had to deal with the fisher people. I never invade someone’s camp site. Ah well… great video!
Thanks! Yes, it was very annoying having them in my camp and very rude but I could not communicate with them since I can't speak spanish. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Looked like a fun trip even with the bad weather. Makes for great stories. It’s amazing how fast and high the water can come up. How did the platypus hold up with the dirty water?
Yes He did! I was very scared to get in the water but like I said in the video once I got out in it I felt fairly safe most of the time. I was definitely praying!
Love your vids! Have you considered "packrafting" with all your adventures? I have the Alpacka Classic & it's AWESOME! Can throw your gear on/in it or even toss your bike on it as well :)
Man that was one Crazy trip you had. Go to sleep and have to get up because of water over the camp site. Not once but twice. I got to hand it to you you did it man. If I was in your shoes I don't know what I would have done. But I glad you are safe man. I really really surprised the Colonel wasn't with you on this trip? My last kayak camping trip was over the labor day weekend were me & my family ( wife , 6 boys , Granddaughter , daughter in law , & my lil brother ) & family friends we all did a 40 mile kayaking camping trip. It was the first time for my lil brother kayak & kayak camping & he just moved back home from Texas that thruday before the holidays. I am so glad that my lil brother job Transferred him back home from Texas because it's been 2 years since I saw him because of the pandemic & we are Close to each other. My lil brother loves to kayak now & is looking to buy a kayak right now so he can go with us on kayaking trip with us. He also been watching some of your kayak camping trip videos & he like your channel. So I got you a new subscriber. Good video buddy thanks you for sharing it.
Thanks so much Mack! Glad you and your family were able to get out on the water for a kayak camping trip I’m sure that was a great time! I just about pulled the plug on that trip so glad I didn’t it was so much fun! Thanks for watching and for getting your brother into it as well!
We stopped a few miles before the Ohio River and left that section for another trip. When we came back, we finished the Little Miami, got on the Ohio River, and paddled to the Kentucky side. We paddled all the way to Cinci and took out after we cross under I-75. I'm glad we did the Ohio River, but parts of it was very boring. However, what WASN'T boring was watching a barge go by and how small you felt when it passed. We were close to the bank so no danger, but I could just imagine being churned under those barges.
Glad you made it out of the flash flood safely! I bet that got the adrenaline pumping for sure! You should start thinking about River FKT's next ;) Great video, Jason!
It is so weird seeing what I have done for years on video. I've got bits and pieces with pictures and small movie videos but never an entire trip like you have captured. You almost hit every single place that I have stopped at from the fireworks all the way down to the dog beach at Otto armletter. Although my paddle on the Ohio River went a little further to pirate's cove. Crazy cool to see someone enjoying the high water on the Miami like I do. Everybody thought I was crazy but I love it when it's like that. The big bulges of water that you were experiencing was the river combining to the Ohio. The Ohio pushes back on the little Miami when the level is that high. It's basically two Rivers fighting for dominance. It was also really cool to see you on sections of the river while I was watching The River rise lol. I was planning an excursion that day as well along with a buddy I met on kayak Ohio. Maybe one these days I’ll make it back down there for that rope swing! Yeah that was very fun water glad I got to experience it and I kind of figured the Ohio river was causing those swells in the river almost like the ocean does in the tidal area of a River. Thanks for the detailed comment I appreciate it!

Yeah I would imagine 7 to10 feet would be very enjoyable and pleasant. I would never kayak on the Ohio again, not my kind of water, I like narrow twisty shallow fast-moving water that I have experience in Michigan the best.
Oddly enough I was doing that same section after a large rain and flood the night before.
