  • I built a table top out of one cent copper pennies. It sure looks pretty and was a fun project.
    Follow along with this how-to step by step instructional video. Sorry for the bad quality, it was mostly shot with my cell phone.

    Some of those pennies are worth serious money!! Why on earth would you cement them down with resin!?

    I've just completed a penny table. I made the idiotic decision to completely wrap my table top. Which meant bending, filing and sawing around 300 pennys. I'm about to use the resin but Ive never used it before. Does it still set clear with overlapping coats?

    Do you know how much epoxy you used on the top? I was trying to decide between buying a pint or a quart. And by the way, my coffee table is oval and a bit smaller than yours.

    Jonny is there any reason I can't just run one line of glue and then just place pennies verses glueing each one separately?

      Jordan Bone im sure you could remove the glaze considering metal is harder than that glaze stuff XD. I think its actually a nice way to show off your rare coins

    How did you get rid of the bubbles?

    • @heyyall9378
      @heyyall9378 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Sam Kent A long lighter, like for lighting candles and fireplaces. I saw a resin jewelry making video, and this woman would pour the resin into the mold, and then use a lighter. I guess the heat pops the bubbles.

    Why do you need glue if you have a beveled edge that holds the pennies in place?

      "Defacement of currency is a violation of Title 18, Section 333 of the United States Code. Under this provision, currency defacement is generally defined as follows: Whoever mutilates, cuts, disfigures, perforates, unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, Federal Reserve Bank, or Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such item(s) unfit to be reissued, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.
      Defacement of currency in such a way that it is made unfit for circulation comes under the jurisdiction of the United States Secret Service. The United States Secret Service web address is www.secretservice.gov."
      I guess that's open to interpretation of "defacement". They have bigger things to worry about, but even still, we have a right to a Jury by peers and I doubt anyone would send me to jail for making an art project with pennies. Also, resin can be dissolved, so if I really had to, I could recover the pennies.
