The City of Preston 'We Are Proud'

I made this film in 2009 to tell the history of Preston, Lancashire, in film, photo and song. There was a lot of anticipation at the time about the upcoming Guild 2012 but also a lot of negative comment about the future of the city with the demise of important regeneration projects.
So.... I went out with a camera to capture the positive sights of Preston in 2009 and then sought permission to take photos in the 'Story Of Preston' gallery at the Harris Museum. These photos were then matched in the film to a song called 'We Are Proud' written for Guild 1992 and whose lyric tells the history of Preston.
Let's keep the spirit of Preston Guild alive, then, by revisiting this film in 2016. This re-edit includes the song as performed by children of Queen's Drive Primary School who recorded it as a 2012 Guild project.

Nice video, brings back memories, l was born 1947 at Sharoe Green hospital. Many of the older buildings still had the stable yards with cobbles . Who remembers Trinity school, my first school ?
