This is the worst IKEA self-assembly design I’ve ever had the misfortune of assembling. The only way I could get the arms into the sockets was to smash the whole thing repeatedly into the floor. They are WAY too hard to insert. I can’t imagine disassembling this thing…
I get a lot of stuff from IKEA. I have to say this was one of the hardest POS to put together (for such a simple cart). Though I see the assembler was having difficulty with piecing the sides, the close-ups were very helpful in overcoming that issue; Thank you. 👍
I struggled wirhy vesken for 15 minutes doing the first leg. Saw the comments here saying it's actually hard to do, so I didn't feel so bad. Then I saw in the video that the bit with the wheel is the outer piece, not the inner piece, and I popped the leg fully in no problem. Thanks for the video :)
GUYS I FOUND AN EASIER WAY! if you first stick 4 in (doesnt matter if theyre not fully in yet) then you place the second layer shelf and start hammering on that layer with a book etc, and repeat. SUPER EASY i got it assembled that way in 2 minutes. hope this helps!
Thank you! Your video was helpful as the assembly was frustrating so I looked on here and found this. Also used a rubber mallet to get the connectors in place as the pieces were otherwise impossible to lock into place.
You're very welcome! I'm glad the video helped. I completely understand the frustration with the assembly process. Using a rubber mallet for the connectors is a great idea-those pieces can be quite stubborn!
Thanks for the video! After finally getting 3 of 4 arms in on the bottom, I used a knife to whittle down the arm piece. Instantly went into place. Save some time and use a sharp knife (carefully!).
I have sorted it but didn’t have the strength to do it. I had to use a heavy brass ornament to get the supports to go in. You have to look carefully to see the L and R labels on the castors. It’s not obvious at all. Product looks nice when assembled. The video did help.
Thank you !!! I was afraid of breaking the parts before I saw the video. I just took a rubber mallet after reading it and the assembly was completed immediately.
So helpful with the showing that left and right are marked on the wheel pieces… They don’t mention that their directions that it’s actually printed on there. So thank you for that.
Great video. After reading the comments I'll pass on the skinny version and go with the standard one. I have some nerve issues so pushing too hard is not and option for me.
Thank you! This was very helpful! It showed me I was way too careful with it 😂 I was afraid I'll break it since it's all plastic, but you'll need some force to asemble this.
Thanks for the video. The technique for putting this together didn’t work for me. But it let me know I can bend the pieces. Once I got the long piece in as far as possible, I just wiggled it down with some force downward and it went in smoothly. First set of trays took 45 mins the 2nd setup took 10 mins once I knew the “wiggle down” trick.
actual life saver. What I found also helpful was to step lightly on the middle of the trays. it helped with stabilisation when pushing the sticks down while moving left and right
Okay so by using this video I was able to figure out the sweet spots of wiggling the arms together to get them to fit. First trolley took 30ish minutes to figure out, second one took less than 5min to put together. Definitely not IKEA's best quality on this one but this is reflected in the price, and now it's together it's quite sturdy, good enough to use as plant stands
The biggest thing I didn't understand about assembling this at first (Because I misunderstood where the tabs were going) is that the piece going down should be towards the inside and the piece coming up through the hole should be towards the outside. I tried forcing it forever The other way and only figured it out when I accidentally swapped angles. I didn't have a rubber mallet so I used the bottom of a heavy glass measuring cup with a folded over pair of rubber gloves on the plastic piece to cushion it.
I didn’t have a rubber mallet so I used a drink coaster to assemble this. Shockingly, the coaster worked great in getting the pieces in place. Using my entire body weight didn’t work but a drink coaster did 😂
This was the ikea produkt with the worst included assembly instructions. But with this video it was difficult but possible to assemble. Had to use a hammer to insert the top parts fully. Still it's extremely cheap and the design looks durable once assembled correctly.
How strong can they hold up with heavy stuff put on shelves? I will have 7kg stuff put on for each shelf.. That would total to 21kg (46 lbs).. concerned about the rollers.. made of plastic.
So you just need to put in absurd amount of power to get these to click in place? It wasn't going in easily so I thought something was wrong and didn't wanna force it...
Veo que no estoy la única con problemas. Pensé que me había vuelto muy torpe para no poder montarlo. Además vas lo hice mal y ahora no hay manera de desmontarlo para volverlo a montar. No entiendo nada!!! 😢😢😢
Absolutely. The only thing you'd need to really be concerned with is stability - the taller it is, the more wobbly it tends to become. This can be counteracted a few ways that I can think of, one being that you'd want to anchor the shelves to the wall (just some eye hooks and zip ties would likely be enough). The other would be to place it in between two other solid surfaces. For example, I have one very similar to this in between my fridge and kitchen cabinets - it holds my extra spices, but it's too wobbly to stand on its own. Being wedged in between the fridge and cabinet make it incapable of falling over though. 👍🏻 Beyond that, just don't put anything too crazy heavy on it, and any heavier items you DO have should go towards the bottom to keep it more stable. (Source: I literally have four of these, two of which I combined to achieve a taller shelf like you mentioned).
Yesterday I purchased this it's very useful it's very strong. but to fix it's very hard ladies can't fix it I tried to fix it .so I keep it like that gens can fix it easily .so I am waiting for my hubby .then I tried to fix it again. finely I fixed it .😂
Be very careful with the wheel placement! I didn’t realize I got them mixed up until I had the whole thing put together! 🤦♀️ Using a rubber mallet makes the process much easier!!
If you here is too late! But just in case do not buy it...yes is a good price it at least could do the job! Almost impossible to put together and if you success is not straight! Thats for my experience
What a hard to assemble thing. Dont try to do it with your hands, find something hard to beat it into place. I used a shoe, that is hard enough to beat it but soft enough for not break it.
How many people watching this just want to make sure it’s hard to install those arms lol
it really is, almost impossible to get them to press down totally. I would never repurchase for this reason.
I broke a nail. 😢
And it still hasn’t gone in completely
@@bellelove32 Neither did mine. I used a trailing plant to cover that up. I would rather assemble a large billy bookcase than this trolley.
These are beyond stupid and have put me off ever going to IKEA again I have half cm gaps x
2 years later and this is still the most helpful video!! Thank you!!😭

The same 😢😢😢
I actually had the even greater misfortune of disassembling this thing. Conclusion: there is no way to disassemble it without breaking it.
What is wrong with this product !!!!!!!
Agree with your comment. I had to use a rubber mallet, but didn’t try that until reading the replies here (afraid of snapping a plastic leg).
FR I TOOK WAY TO LONG TO DO THIS JUST FOR MY MOM 😭😭😭
If you hate someone, give him Vesken as a birthday present... Mother in law or ppl like this
lol

I still failed to click the rod piece into it's place.. why is it so hard?

Took me an hour! Had to look for a video cause I was just ready to give up! 😊
Can it be taken apart again?
OMH it worked out for me 🫶🏻🫶🏻❤️❤️❤️
YOU ARE THE BEST
Thank you! So much easier, added bonus gets the frustration out from not being able to assemble it how IKEA intended.
Thank you!!! Comments were great and I agree I was worried about breaking it but all sorted and together nothing broken

Thanks. I was having trouble getting the supports that connect to the wheels to sit flush. The close up really helped
I'm so glad the close-up helped! Those supports can be tricky, but it sounds like you're on the right track now! 😊

I was afraid of breaking the parts before I saw the video.

First, I assembled it the best I could. I pressed down with my body weight on every corner. It came together. It was pretty quick.
Why my wheels go front and back not right and left 😩 what did I do wrong !!
Thanks to set up this You Tube, I follow the instructions ,used a hammer to tap it down and it's easy to install.

Mine broke…. But it was easier to put in when it broke 😂
Same here! I was really being carefull but it needed a strong hand while installing it.
Helpfull video but not a user friendly product. Very hard to adjust
IKEA recently lowered the price of these (most likely doing a inventory clear out) so this video is really helpful!
I just assembled my Ikea trolley watching this video. Very useful . Thanks

When I tried to install these arms they snapped.
adding a bit of vaseline when sticking them in really helps!

If one were to buy two carts, would they be able to stack the shelves and make a tall cart? Asking for a friend.
I think it's doable, but you have to think about how to tie them together. good luck

i broke a piece in half.. this shelf sucks
Broke two legs as I had put then in upside down, before I watched this video. Snapped when I tried to remove them 😢
Worst.. until now i cant assemble it😢😢
It's not possible. The wheel and that other piece can not go to the same slot. I used brute force but nothing.
Hi. there are those for the right side and those for the left side. review the video 2:30
Who did design this product? 😅
Not me ,😉
Thanks TH-cam
I used a rubber mallet.
Спасибо, нужна сила чтобы собрать

no wonder this thing was on sale 🤦♀️ i put the wheels in wrong so now im attempting to disassemble it... its not going too great so far
この商品は、硬くて難しい😢
Using a hammer is the only way i could do it
Thank God it’s not just me… it’s 30 mins and those area are not “snapping” into the wheels!!!!
Good job🙏
For install the legs, my family found out an easier way to do it
Shake the legs left and right to squeeze into the joint…
Be very careful with the wheel placement!
I didn’t realize I got them mixed up until I had the whole thing put together! 🤦♀️
Using a rubber mallet makes the process much easier!!
I need to book an appointment with my therapist because this thing had me so frustrated! Why is it designed like this??
I have used the 365 day peace of mind option. Not worth the struggle😊
just use a hammer! my mom used a hammer and it works like a charm!

I used a hammer to get them in. 🔨

Complete PITA to assemble. Not user friendly, included instructions are vague, this video was helpful but still a struggle to assemble.

Menos mal que vi este vídeo, por que iba a devolver el producto no encajaban las patas😂
This product is really hard to assemble. thank you for watching the video
When you figure out which piece goes the front which goes in the back, smash every corner really hard on the floor will make them fall in line.😅
It was too flimsy, it broke in my hands
I used a hammer to make it 😢
What a hard to assemble thing. Dont try to do it with your hands, find something hard to beat it into place. I used a shoe, that is hard enough to beat it but soft enough for not break it.
but seriously. this thing is so hard to put together.
