You crazy Canadians have a lot of fun in the woods. One of my favorite books was "Traplines North" It was about a trapping and hunting family out of Nakina, Ontario in the mid 20th century. I would love to go to moose camp. I've looked at those full body mount moose before at Bass Pro shop. It only takes one bullet to put it on the ground and a small army to get it home. No wonder the whole tribe goes hunting together. You are doing it right. Hot tent and a Husky to keep you in wood. I would have to go with a HOMELITE XL12 just for old times sake. And an old Winchester .270 or .348 to take that moose. Probably use my Grandfather's old Cattaragus 225Q to skin that monster. I've never had any moose meat, but I hear it's tasty. Carry on in the great white north. Some things like moose camp are treasures.
It is so beautiful there right now! I'm in central Wisconsin, and except for the occasional wisp of snow, all we have is grey skies most times and really cold temps. I've always maintained that if it's going to be Winter, then it better be funkin snowing.
I've had two Huskies. Loved them when they would start. Usually took at least 10 or more pulls to get it started cold. Eventually sold both and went back to my tried and proven old Jonsered that I bought new in 1975. Held together with duct tape and baling wire and no safety features at all, but always starts by the 3rd pull even if she's been sitting a couple years. My backup is a Stihl, but that too has issues starting.
@ave The key to starting the husky without pulling 20 times is to keep the choke engaged until the motor burps. Then, the next pull or two it will start. I regretted buying the husqvarna until I learned how to start it.

Hey, AvE, quick question about the saw. Have you tried going to a bigger jet on the carb to richen it up a smidge? If your saw fires up mint in the summer, but poo in the winter, that higher air density is probably leaning you out some. I know on my YZ250 the difference made by air temperature was huge in how the bike started and ran. Likewise on the current bike I often switch to a cold-temp map to richen things up a smidge and help starting. (Conveniently from my smartphone via bluetooth, rather than via taking the carb out)
