Damn, dude, I was absolutely hating the idea of a personal brand. That whole influencer vibe is nauseating to me. With this new obsession with a personal brand, I was depressed, thinking I had to be that guy. But I love how you explained the "key person of influence" so much better. Yo, man, thank you so much for this!
One of many interesting things you do is repeat a lot. That’s a good thing. You repackage, take many shots at saying the same thing in a variety of ways. So you don’t need 7 unique hours of content, just 7 hours that consistently convey the message you’re trying to get across.
@@DanielPriestleythis is genius! Being able to do that is absolutely amazing and I follow your contents and never get bored. Because you master how to repackage your ideas and give depth and nuances to them. Bravo !
Ever since I came across your interview on the CEO seat I have never looked back and have been so enlightened in my life and given a new lease to life like this, money not been a forefront running factor for someone to educate and inform effortlessly. For the first time I see someone successful being so down to earth and speaking to basics and mechanics of new world we are facing to the future. Thanks so much
Thank you for this short but impactful video - your points are very helpful, of particular, the one about the proximity bias, how easy it is to not recognize or miss the value in what we have to offer because we either failed or neglect to make the distinction of the bias (being aware of our blind spot) - more like how to become more relatable to the audience you want to attack.
Very useful tips, thanks. What I have noticed from your videos and podcast interviews is that you are always very consistent with what you say across the platforms. It is a good to encourage people to have opinions, we live in an age where we do not want to offend but in reality not everyone will like us so we need to get over it.
I like the last point, origin, mission and vision for when sharing your story. I didn't even realize I was doing the personal marketing brand with scheduling LinkedIn posts pertaining to the HR industry, thanks for the video and realizing I am on the right path💪🏾💪🏾
This is SO helpful! Branding yourself vs your business is a difficult topic that has a lot of confusing pieces to it, thanks to social media "experts!" You my friend, broke that narrative into simplicity, do able steps and comprehension 🎉! I am empowered NOW!
I do believe we have to stand out in our market place and having strong opinions (and voicing them) is one way of doing this Do you have any other ideas on how we be seen to be different?

Thank you for an awesome summary Daniel! Ever since I first found out about you back when you did your first podcast with Ali Adbaal you’ve been one of, if not he most, influential person in my life through your content! So thank you for that!! I’d actually like to return the favor a little with something that can increase the value of these videos with a super simple fix. I’ve noticed that in all of these videos that I’ve watched the color correction is so (sorry in advance) horribly of which makes you almost look dead (pale and if not that very cold/blueish) instead of having the warmth that you should have in your skin. In addition to this you could do with a color grade on top of that which could make you stand out more in the frame and also get the image to look more visually pleasing. I think I can solve this (I don’t want anything for it, you’ve done more than enough for me!) for you if you’d like, by helping you with everything from creating a routine on how to set the right white balance every time before you shot your talking head part and then creating a LUT that hopefully help create a consistent visual look of your videos. Just let me know if you want me to help you with this, I’ll happily do it! p.s It’s so funny how you would put up this right now when it is the exact thing I’m currently grappling with. I actually just re-read Key Person Of Influence last week to get some more inspiration because I’m taking a few months of work to focus on building the foundation for life after medicine. I have a 18month employment left, that begins in June, to get my medical license, but after that I want to do something else entirely and your work has helped me with this is so incredibly many ways. So again thank you for everything that you and your team do!
I am learning a lot from you! I am starting an online drop shipping business soon, and I have future plans of having a Private Label. Right now I am planning of having a Life Style Business. You are my number one mentor. So much value in your teachings. I am getting my marketing certification through you. Thank You!
Best takeaway is the Promixity Bias: things that are obvious to you and take for granted can be really valuable for others. Take a step back and change the perspective.
❤❤ great tips. Thanks. Love how you captured the typical traits of the British. Yep, it's not natural to sing our own praises, but now accept that's the way forward. 😊
Nice Input! There is something I often struggle with and is language. Since my mother tongue is different from my working language sometimes I am unsure if publishing should be one language only or not…
Love this video. Super valuable. Curious to know of any examples of Origin, Mission and Vision you could share? Thanks!! Huge fan of your work. I discovered you through The Futur community
Great stuff - thanks Dan. Re the Origin, Mission and Vision statement - what do you suggest we actually do with it? For example, keep it in a file for our own use, or publish on our website or elsewhere so that clients and customers can see it for themselves? Thanks.
Hi, I'm in Australia. I'm currently teaching, but I used to own a business. I desperately want to start a new business, but I keep coming up with blanks. I can't decide between a digital business or building something with physical products. Could you recommend a book or video that might be helpful in deciding which type of business to start. I'm 50, so I'm looking for something to take over my current job and then see me through retirement. (So something that can bring in passive income eventually.) Thank you!
Great tips to wake up to on a Sunday Morning Daniel! 🙌 Would you say a personal brand is just as important with a Newsletter? I have people in my circle who have successful newsletters but no-one knows it's them (so they can sell in future without name needing to be attached)...
Thanks for watching, Wayne. Yes. It's important for a newsletter too. I'm not saying you couldn't see results eventually, but people trust people far more than they trust faceless logos. The results would come a lot faster if there was a person pushing the newsletter out there on social media, podcasts, articles etc.
Love your stuff Daniel! Fellow Aussie here :) What would you suggest for a freelance reporter/writer building their personal brand? My aname is common, but I am planning for hyphenate it (because I got married). I have lots of clips from my bylines but they’re all directed at Amanda Smith, which isn’t very Googleable.

wow thank you. I am also very interested to know your opinion about representative of a brand. For example imagine a man opens a store for woman beauty products, he hire a woman who record and post reels about beauty tips on Instagram so the woman would appear to be the personal brand of the shop but in fact she is not. Or about when actors and actresses become ambassadors of a brand like channel. Or what about AI models, I think that is a modern way if using cartoon face and mascot.
I get it. Personal brand is king, but what do you do if you’re halfway up the mountain and have business branding throughout all of your social media accounts. Do you change from, in my case STRIVE to Lee Davy, or do you keep the STRIVE social accounts, but start new Lee Davy ones starting from scratch?
Start pushing your personal brand right away. Your business is an extension of you that will benefit from you being the Key Person of Influence. They work alongside each other but your personal brand is far more effective.
Elon Musk, Tim Cook, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Mark Zuckerberg… all introverts. Also A lot of this stuff can be done without meeting people - books, videos, etc
why do you want everybody to stick to becoming a "brand" ?everybody teach how to become a brand, a thing to be wanted and purchasable... it makes sense yes, but also so much not

Where do Origin, Mission & Vision assets (such as videos) live on a platform like TH-cam, LinkedIn or Facebook?
This video helped shed light on how to build your personal brand in the easiest way possible. Off course, I'll rather be a key person of influence.

Awesome
Could you go more in depth with origin, mission and vision. Like how to make that more visible and part of the brand

Because it is very important in your video. 🥥
