    This drink also pairs well with GTA: Vice City. Best one in the series?

    Nick, I’m sure it tastes amazing, but I’m not going to lie, that Chemist version does look a little like Urinal cakes floating in a blocked urinal

    I actually made one for the first time a couple months ago. Never heard of it when the lady ordered it, but I looked up a recipe and gave it my best. We didn't have a blender since it was still a relatively new bar, but I made it to the best of my ability. Turned out as a pretty drink and the woman enjoyed and ordered 2 more lol. Probably one of my favorite drinks to make as far as process goes

    • @charlestoncooper5265
      @charlestoncooper5265 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      it’s one of the rare frozen drinks that’s pretty enough that you don’t have a “broken blender”

    I used to make 100's if not 1000's of these every contract I used to work for Disney Cruise Line. It was even the Embarkation day main drink so literally 1000's. Anyways, seeing this video brought back happy memories of working with Disney.

    The chemist version looks like it'd certainly be very nice, but that split in the classic of the red and yellow down the centre swirling about really does have a certain visual appeal to it.

    I think a Cherry and Banana version of the Classic style would also be amazing. Maybe using some Kirschwasser and Cherry Heering instead of rum for the cherry part and definitely adding some Banane du Bresil and frozen banana slices to the banana part. The mellow sweetness of the banana and the intense tartness of the cherries compliment each other really well.

      I've tried that method before and it really does change it significantly. It's more like a pineapple-flavoured rum then than the traditional piña colada, but if you like exploring subtle flavours, it really brings so much to the game. You don't need to shake it as much, or worry about the milk content. It's super smooth.

    These are still pretty popular at beach bars in Miami and the Keys. If you sub a frozen rum runner for the daiquiri it becomes a “Pain in the Ass”

    • @Rose-jz6sx
      @Rose-jz6sx 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What's a rum runner?

    • @dave011679
      @dave011679 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Rose-jz6sx it’s a sort of rum punch with a bunch of different juices and liqueurs. The recipe is pretty long , so they’re usually made in large batches and sold frozen like a pina colada

    I like videos that put the recipe in the description because if im entertaining guests i dont have time to pay attention to a video. I still play the video muted and then check the description for the recipe. Your channel does not put illustrations on the video giving the recipe as it is being made. I appreciate your channel and methods. Please consider this. For now i have to use other creators vids while i have guests. Usually the same when i make myself a drink. Play lots of cocktail vids while i make drinks. Mostly those that have a recipe and method in the description. Hint. Hint.

    I'm curious, will a milk punch mess with you if you are lactose intolerant or does the lactose get removed from the curdled parts getting filtered out?

    • @svennoren9047
      @svennoren9047 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lactose (literally milk sugar) is water soluble, so at least a part of it will go through the filter and end up in your drink.

    Help please: The recipe on your web-site says 2oz pineapple juice for the chemist version, but in the video you say you're making a "half batch" and use 3oz. This doesn't add up; is the web-site off or is the amount used in the video incorrect?

    Correction. You can not store clarified Piña Coladas indefinitely, you won’t let it last that long. I made a double batch for a Fourth of July party and wished I had made a triple. They were a huge hit.

  • @ogreenius

    Last year I made a stirred, spirit-forward version of almost this: instagram.com/p/CCpj6ORh8-l/ Only missing the coconut, really. So if I did it today, I'd add coconut rum (Kalani) and boom, instantly clear, spirit-forward "Miami Vice". 😁 Come to think of it, Supasawa now exists, so that'd make the acid part easier too. Of course you miss the mouth feel of the whey from the clarification process, but I'd wager the higher-proof nature of the whole drink would make up for that. Very different experience in general though, of course.
    Now as far as a blended version... I guess I'd make two of them as you did, one with strawberry brandy, the other pineapple brandy, coconut rum in the pineapple one, supasawa for both, weigh the amount of ice you'd normally add to blend it and just add that amount of water to the strawberry one, freeze into cubes, and you'd have clear strawberry daiquiri cubes in a clear piña colada. 🎉

    The ptsd was kicking in strong watching you drink that first MV with a smug grin. I had my hand up ready to slap it out your hand and then I saw the hairy limbs on the sweet sweet mattress. Calmed down a bit and remembered I needed a new mattress by end of summer and then got scared you're in my head. I shared your smug grin as I saw the goodness that is clarified Colada with strawberry daqubes.
    Love you man. I'm sorry I yelled. I just want to sleep better.
