No she did not. The silent majority oppose this. Poll after poll showed that most NYC residents didn't support this. Traffic and pollution would've increased in the outer boroughs and in some communities such as Battery Park City and the Lower East Side according to the MTA. Many small businesses would've had to increase costs and would've lost some business. This was nothing more than a cash grab for a transit agency that is poorly managed and the Governor made the right decision
Anyone worrking on and taking public transportation to Manhattan should have the brains to realize the MTA is the most wasteful transportation agency in the world. Audit the MTA and use the savings to repair the subway.
If only 3% are traveling in vehicles how does this makes sense ? New York is the only city in the world that doesn’t support in/out turnstiles for subway and train riders . Germany relies on massive fines for being on public transportation w/out a valid ticket.

Most people who drive into Manhattan are not wealthy. The middle class is not the wealthy. The notion that only rich people drive is absurd. I have relatives and neighbors who live in the CBD that drive and they are not wealthy. Many small business owners, police, firefighters, city workers who use their personal vehicle aren't rich people. Comments like yours are just ridiculous.
@@Atrail_Mckinley4786 The original poster is arguing that congestion pricing is just a “socialist” means of tax revenue and would not solve anything, when in reality it would benefit the environment and the MTA by reducing amount of cars on the road and relieving buses and congestion.
they need to clean house at the MTA!!!
So they created more congestion with adding more bike lanes and then complain about it.
This woman is irritating. She was the one that rudely told NJ to get over it.

They ALWAYS go up 🤷♀️
Exactly!!! It'll never be enough to fill the black hole that is the MTA
It's hard to see improvement in roads, bridges, etc from taxes/fees
There are many vocal opposers who represent a small percentage of people coming to work in Manhattan. The governor miscalculated her move on this.

The problem with doing away with congestion pricing is the money spent on installing toll readers .what a waste!!!
all the ghost cars that can't tolled

They are audited constantly. Please type in the search bar before you type in the commnets

They so mad CNBC had to cover this. The haters of the people just can't take it.
These anchors are insufferable. It's so obvious that congestion pricing affects hem personally and they're mad about it.
$15 x 200 days is $3k yearly driving tax for high income NYC workers...

No. The gap from fare evasion and capital funding is two different issues
GREAT point by Becky about the turnstile jumping -- its out of control. Zero enforcement!
So YOU pay the 15 bux every day Lady!
Do these people get that consumer pricing will raise you can’t bring a power saw on the train , business will be bankrupt
How many people need to bring a power saw into Manhattan daily?

Why doesn't the city just spend less? They tax everyone for breathing and then waste all of the revenue on BS.
