Our aim from January 2021 onwards has been to resume our monthly cantata performances with no compromises on the artistic side and no downscaling of our ensemble. In order to make this happen, we have had to make a number of organizational and logistical adjustments. In so doing, we have managed to keep performing, with or without an audience, always looking after the protection of everyone involved, and certainly complying at all times with the changing regulations issued by our government. We are proud of the results achieved so far on both the artist and organizational level.
In my book case is CD after CD from the likes of Leonhardt, Rilling, Richter, Gardiner, etc. performing the amazing cantatas of J.S. Bach. Covid forced me to start working from home and in isolation. Hunkered down in my basement watching the world seeming to tumble into the abyss, I found Bachstiftung.by accident, and was immediately rewarded. My CD's produce great beauty, but to watch so many beautiful souls perform these beautiful works was what I needed. You beautiful musicians with your talents and dedication lifted me through this dark time. And then to see your ensemble in masks and socially distanced really brought home the depth of gratitude and brought me to tears. I cannot sufficiently express how you have enriched my life. May all your musicians feel a deep cyber hug from this American whom you lifted out of the darkness.
I've heard this cantata played by many authentic performers (using natural horns, oboe da caccia, baroque strings etc.), and it never lost its magic. Still one of my favorites.

Wunderschöne Aufführung. In der Einleitung ist zu lesen, aus der Kirche Trogen, hier eher ein anderer Ort. Gute Akustik auch hier. Solisten hervorragend. Georg Poplutz konnte ich heute als Evangelist in der Matthäuspassion bewundern. Markenzeichen unter anderem überzeugende Interpretation.

Bach music massages my brain, at least thats how its feel.
