Nice sketches. Nice review too 👍 I’ve filled quite a stack of Moleskines over the years. The WC is great. Excelllent wc paper and it fits into a small backpack with a wc pallette and a couple of brushes. The wrinkling disappears over time. Just let it dry to the touch and store it closed. Edit: Unicorn hair is just 25%. The remaining 50% is recycled dollars and euros.
Haha. I believe you on the recycled dollars and euros part! And thank you! I used the traditional moleskine notebooks for journaling and such in college and I knew some artists drew in them. Once they came out with their art line I actually used a pocket sized book for some drawing sketches but this is my first time using the wc journal. Mine haven’t unbuckled but I probably could use an iron on the backside of the paper. I’ll try that idea of leaving it open to dry before closing and see if that helps.
Thanks Lisa! Yeah it’s nice for quick sketches or studies or whatever and it fits nicely in a bag. Could probably even throw it in a purse or Fanny pack too so I like how portable it is.
Thank you! Before you buy also take a look at the Pentalic Aqua Journal as well. It has fewer pages but the paper is thicker and has a higher cotton content. They are similarly priced. You have to balance if you want more pages or if you want higher quality paper. I actually use both. I might need to review that one as well or do a comparison.
Looks good. I like the portrait layout. I need to get a good sketch book. Envelope an interesting touch. That pie looked real good too. Great video Danny.
Thanks Robin! They make portrait layouts too but I do like the landscape version best I think. I know some people use these for urban sketching and might put train stubs or museum tickets etc in the back. But really the envelope is just something they do for all their notebooks has minimal value. The pie was hard to paint! Everyone was eating theirs while I painted. Had to show self restraint! Haha.
Thank you! I have another sketchbook that accidentally became a sketchbook for “good” sketches so I picked this one up to try as a low pressure sketchbook. It’s been a huge relief and I’m using it much more than the other. Crazy how that can work

Thanks for doing this video. Nice sketches you did in it. Would be great backpacking or for trips to just knock out some small artworks.
